Just before Christmas we were notified by a concerned neighbor about the mama cat and her 5 kittens, who were not being fed for a few days due to the owner having some medical issues. We don’t know the whole story and why Arianna wasn’t spayed to begin with, but we immediately removed the family and placed her with one of our foster families. Only look at this little mama, who is a kitten herself- beautiful tiny sweet little girl was still able to keep her kids alive and she continues to take a wonderful care about them. She was so thirsty and hungry when she joined our rescue, but it didn’t stop her from being the most affectionate girl. Now 4 of her kittens are reserved/adopted and only little Matteo and Arianna want to find their forever loving home. In a perfect world we would love them to be adopted together, but we all know our world is too far from being perfect. If you are interested in Matteo and have another cat at home our kitten can bond with or if you are interested in Arianna or both, kindly message us or complete the adoption application using the link below ⬇️ and their foster family will reach out to you to arrange meet and greet.

Our first adoption event in 2025 🐈‍⬛🐈!

📌Petco at 165 Bricktown Way, Staten Island, NY 10309
3 pm - 6 pm every SATURDAY 📌

Over 250 kittens and cats were adopted from our rescue in 2024, but there are so many beautiful cats who have been overlooked. Some of them came to us as a little kittens and some of them joined our rescue after they were abused, neglected and betrayed by their previous owners. We hope and pray this year will be more successful for the adult cats, who deserve to have their own families just like the kittens do ☺️

Some of you may remember Nasya and the heartbreak she went through and some may never saw her story. But this gorgeous affectionate girl deserves to have her own family.

Nasya came to our rescue at a very sad time in her life. We were contacted about a very pregnant friendly cat in Staten Island. Her finders couldn’t take her in and were looking for someone to give her a safe space to have her babies. But only a few hours later they were horrified to see that Nasya have given birth and her kittens were still wrapped up in umbilical cord. We rushed to pick Nasya and her kittens up but unfortunately only one of her babies was still alive. Nasya was sick herself but that didn’t stop her from pouring all her love and care into her one remaining baby. Now months later Nasya’s baby Amala is grown and was adopted with her foster friend Abu and Nasya is ready for happy ever after of her own. She’s 1.5-2 years old sweet girl. Very friendly and enjoys attention and pets from her foster family. She gets along with other cats and adores the kittens and would be a perfect addition to any family.
She’s is spayed, UTD of vaccinations and tested FIV/FeLV negative.

If you are interested, please complete the application using the link below and her foster family will contact you to arrange meet and greet

Nasya is being fostered on Staten Island, NY, but transport is available anywhere in NYC/NJ/LI area.

Meet Ray!

Good day everyone! Please accept our apologies for some graphic photos (also we cannot post all of the photos here due to the sensitivity). We are here to share the latest story of our new cat we named Ray, who may break your hearts as much as it did ours. This story is not only to ask you for help and support, but also to show what happens when people let their house cats outside “to have some fresh air” or leave them behind, thinking the cats will have no problems to survive outside.

Last Monday we received the video of the beautiful sweet cat, who was found on Roe St, Staten Island 10314 and was having trouble to walk. We noticed he was limping and had at least 2 what we thought bite wounds on his legs. This fluff was meowing for help and luckily the home owners were the animal lovers and immediately started to look for help. When we saw the video we realized that we would be facing another huge medical bill, but on the other hand we know the bite wounds are time sensitive and the longer the cat is outside the less chances he has left to survive. His meows for help hit us in the heart! We immediately started to look for a long term foster home and one of our amazing fosters agreed to take him once he would be released from the hospital. Our volunteer went to the location, grabbed Ray and rushed him to Animal House Veterinary Hospital. And then it was a waiting game. Will he survive? Does he have a chance? Does he need an amputation? If yes, we can’t amputate two legs then it will be the end? This is not fair! He is so young and so sweet and could have had a long beautiful life… all these thoughts while we were working, taking care about our families, children, our own pets and dealing with the other cats we have in our rescue.
Few hours later the phone rang and trying to stay cold minded I answered the call. Dr Lepkowski broke the news, Ray was around 1 year old unneutered, anemic, malnourished, emancipated, dehydrated boy and not only he had those wounds on his feet we noticed on the video, but his body was covered in the raw bleeding lesions. And again all these thoughts- who did this to him?/who betrayed this boy?/who failed him/what did he do to deserve this suffering pain? No one should go through this! All this suffering could have been avoided if only he would have had a responsible owner. Blood work, culture & biopsy tests and different kinds of diagnostic testing were done to determine the extent of his condition and to start the immediate treatment. As I mentioned we cannot post all the photos we received, but we couldn’t catch a breath for the first few seconds when we saw his shaved bonny body covered in wounds.
On a positive note, Ray turned out to be a fighter! While he is receiving the treatments throughout the day at AHVH he already gained a little over 1 lb in only 10 days, he lets dr Lepkowski and her team to do everything they need to do with him and in the meantime he accepts the treats and cuddles.
We are aware that the medical treatment is expensive, but we will not push the process even if Ray is our last medical cat (on top of all the others we have right at this moment) for the next few months or whatever time it takes for us to pay off our bills. He will have a long road for recovery, but we are staying positive and hope one day he will be adopted by the family who will treat him as a king. Some of his lesions are already closing, some of them dr Lepkowski was able to stitch. It’s going to be a long process, but we are committed to doing it for him and we are ready for him to stay at the hospital for as long as needed. We hope and pray for his full recovery.
As always we ask for a help from the community to help us to help Ray 😔. We understand it’s a holiday season and everyone has a lot of expenses right now, but if you are able to donate towards his medical bills and care, please use one of the options below ⬇️

Hello friends! We would like to introduce you our “secret cookie-nuts family”. Please accept our apologies for keeping them away from everyone for 6 weeks, but we wanted the kittens to grow a bit before telling you their story.
Exactly 6 weeks ago we received a call about the friendly cat being dumped outside by her owners. The cat they had since she was 6-7 weeks old. The reason?! Nothing new here - they took in a puppy and the cat was furious. Their son, who doesn’t live with his family now and is renting the room, ran to the area and was able to quickly grab her. He was absolutely heartbroken and tried his best to find the placement for his girl Mia. Next day one of our volunteers went to pick up this girl and Mia was not happy, which was understandable- betrayed by her family, dumped outside, picked up by the stranger and taken to absolute unknown for her environment. We decided to give her some time to decompress, but her foster mom was very worried about Mia’s mental condition. Little did we know that Mia went into the labor!!! This was a very long night for me and her foster family. She first had 3 babies and as soon as she realized we were there for her and her babies, that we were not going to hurt her or her babies, she relaxed and let us gently pet her and started to purr 🥺. We let her be with her newborns and the next morning she showed us her 4th baby kitten. She is being such a great mom 🙏.

This family is beautiful and we know that the kittens will start getting the pre-adoption applications quickly, but we will give the priority to the family who would like to adopt our mama Mia with her only son Acorn. She deserves the love just like her kittens are.

Thank you for listening and have a wonderful holiday season ❤️🐈‍⬛🐈❤️

What is happening 😭 ?! It’s November 27th and the kittens are still being born everywhere. 3 different locations where we are actively doing TNR, over 60 cats were fixed within the last 3 months and it’s not anywhere close to the end. This is definitely not like we planned our Thanksgiving week 🤦🏻‍♀️.
