We want to thank you all, who helped us with these siblings we took in 2 months ago! They were tiny sickly scared kittens, but with the love, patience and a lot of medical care they grew into the most adorable boys and girls! Now Grizzly, Static, Bowie & Bluey are healthy and happy and accepting the applications! We would love our handsome a little shy boy Grizzly to be adopted with his sweet sister Blue. Static and his sister Bowie can be adopted together or separately as long as you have another cat/cat friendly dog each of them can bond with (they are being fostered in the home with the dog and cats and doing great together).
Transport is available anywhere in NYC/NJ/Long Island area.

Hello! My name is Sasha and I’m 5 year old girl and my rescue is desperately looking for help to pay my first bill, which was close to $2,000.00 today😞.
I had a home and the family, who used me for breeding till I became sick with the severe gingivitis and one day I found myself in NY city shelter 😞 . I was so scared and confused, I could not understand why my family was not around when I needed them the most. I was in so much pain I couldn’t open my mouth and the employees told me I had the severe gingivitis and dental disease. They tried to put me on the antibiotics, but it made me sick even more. I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t hear all the noise surrounding my cage. I started to decline rapidly and was put on a high risk list.
They kept trying and installed the feeding tube to keep me alive and put a plea for the rescues to pull me out of the shelter immediately and told me not to worry, someone would give me a chance. But honestly, I didn’t even know if I wanted one, I was so tired and I didn’t know the miracle existed. When I was posted on social media one kind woman, who happened to volunteer with SHFL rescue saw my picture and immediately contacted the rescue. I was running out of time 😞, my rescue contacted another rescue to speed up the process and reserved me just on time! The shelter was not able to give them any answers about my condition and they knew they might face the astronomical bills during the peak of kitten season, they knew I was not a kitten, but I was a slowly dying adult girl. They knew it all, but somehow they made a choice to help me.
As soon as I arrived to the foster home on Wednesday morning , the rescue rushed me to the hospital. They cried when they saw my tiny only 4 lb body, so did I. All they were telling me on the way to the hospital was “everything would be alright, baby girl”, “no one would ever betray you again, baby girl!” We arrived to Animal House Veterinary Hospital and we immediately were greeted by Dr Lepkowski and her amazing team. I was told that this amazing facility would do all possible to help me, but I also needed to cooperate. I needed to have a will to live. I now can’t remember much more about what was happening in the room, but I was put on supportive care and all the diagnostics started - blood work, urine tests, another blood work, xrays, sonograms. Everyone was so kind and I felt so grateful. My rescue had to leave me, but they explained that hospitalization was needed for my health. Right now I am being treated from the severe URI/viruses and being tube fed, but yesterday I started to eat on my own. Very little, but I ate! Today they let me to go to my foster family (I am already so loved!). I urgently need the dental work done, but first I need to fight this congestion and gain a little bit weight as it is going to be a long procedure. This will be another bill added to my rescue’s account and I am so worried they will not be able to afford it all at such a short period of time, but they assured me that there are a lot of kind humans, who would try to help them to help me.
I am so sorry I took so much time from you, but I am so glad the animal lovers exist 🐈❤️! If you can help financially- it’s amazing! If you are not able to donate at this time, I understand, but please kindly share my story far and wide to help my rescue to help me!

- Sasha - 5 years old 4 lb girl, was left at the shelter by my previous owners.

How are we still posting this girl 🥺 Tawny is 4.5-5 months old girl, very sweet and extremely playful. She was found all alone crying in the school bus by the driver, when all the kids left the bus. Tawny loves interacting with the humans and loves other cats. All she needs is at least one cat friend and a loving family. She is UTD on shots/spayed/FIV &FeLV negative/microchipped. Tawny is fostered on Staten Island, NY, but we can transport anywhere in NYC/NJ/LI areas. Kindly complete the adoption application using the link below ⬇️ to arrange meet and greet.

😻Adoption Event 😻

Every Saturday at Petco 3 pm to 6 pm @ 165 Bricktown Way, Staten Island, NY 10309

We have several dozens of kittens and cats who are waiting for the forever homes. We had to close the intakes due to the lack of fosters, funds and extremely slow adoptions. So many kittens and cats are staying outside waiting for help, but we can only re-open the intakes when the ones we have will find their forever homes. Please help us to help them 😻! Our kittens and cats are fostered in Brooklyn/Staten Island/NJ/Long Island. Meet and greets are available in person and virtually. We transport anywhere in NYC/NJ/Long Island.

Our handsome boy Quincy the PolydactylCat (yes, he has the extra toes 😻) is a little sad he has zero attention and doesn’t know if he ever gets adopted because of his age😞. The kittens come and go, but the adults are always overlooked. He is only 8 years young and has a clean bill of health. Quincy is a little shy first, but it is understandable - the only human mom (who was a big animal advocate and our friend!) he ever knew passed away few months ago and everything is so new to him now. He loves other cats and adores the kittens! He is still very playful gorgeous boy and all he needs is love and a quiet home.
Please consider to adopt the adults, they are so adorable and appreciative 🥰!

Few weeks ago two sick kittens were posted to our local lost pets group Lost And Found Pets Staten Island . We were tagged to the post multiple times, people were messaging our rescue page and emailing us asking to help these kittens. We were already officially temporarily closed for the intakes due to the lack of funds, lack of fosters and extremely slow adoptions. One of our amazing fosters couldn’t resist and offered to take them in and of course, once again, we couldn’t leave the sick kittens outside in a brutal heat. Their finder did a great job in helping us to capture them ( and their mother, who we had spayed & vaccinated and she is now back to her caretaker) and two days later 4 spicy sick kittens joined our rescue. Once they were safely delivered to the foster home, we realized not only they were sick with URI, but 4 fluffs also got hit with the severe ringworm case🤦🏻‍♀️ What a fun to deal with! While the ringworm is only the fungal disease it takes a long time to treat it and sometimes it takes from 5 to 10 weeks. They are going to grow into beautiful clean and healthy kittens, but right now we are asking for your help with their medical bills/supplies/food.

RIP beautiful sweet Angel Hemlock 😭❤️🐈‍⬛🐾🐾🐾

Dear friends, we need to share some devastating news with you. Some of you may remember Hemlock. Couple months ago one of our amazing volunteers, who also takes care of a feral colony on Staten Island, came home and found a new kitty sleeping in one of the shelters she has outside of her house for the feral cats. She was surprised the kitty didn’t run or showed any fear signs at all. She slowly came closer to the shelter and this girl greeted her with the quiet meow, came out of the shelter and crawled into her arms. Next minute Hemlock was inside, safe and sound. She appeared already ear tipped but she was extremely affectionate. She was dirty, hungry , dehydrated and tired. We don’t know what happened to this girl, but she was definitely someone’s pet before. She was seen by the vet, vaccinated and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. We gave her some time to recover from her unfortunate outside journey before listing her for adoption.

Wednesday late night we received a devastating call. After having her usual night snack Hemlock suddenly collapsed and was dragging her back legs. Her foster mom immediately jumped in a car and drove her to VEG where the doctors were already waiting for her. We were hoping that with the immediate medical care our girl would recover and we could not bear the thought we would lose her that night. After getting the echo done we were crushed by the news- our girl threw the blood clot and was declining every minute. After speaking with the doctors we had to make the hardest decision and let our girl go to ease her suffering.

We pray our Hemlock is resting in peace and has a lot of friends now. We are so sorry you were betrayed by the humans in this world and we are so sorry we couldn’t help you, but you were so loved during last few months of your life ❤️!

If anyone would like to help us with Hemlock bill,
you can

Good morning world 😍! Does anyone know why am I not adopted yet 🤔?! I am 100% tortie. The tortie owners know what it means - I am sweet, I am wild, I am affectionate, I am talkative, I love my foster’s cats and dog, I love my foster brothers Honeybun and Honeypot, I can be the sweetest girl and I can be a true tortie if you lock me somewhere I don’t want to stay. All I need is a home with another cat or cat friendly dog or I can be adopted with another kitten.
