Although Frank is twice the size of any other dog, he still manages to play nicely. If you want your dog walking with other, lovely dogs, send us a message or comment and we’ll arrange a safe meeting to discuss your requirements.
If you haven’t got time to walk your best friend during the day, there’s never been a better time to book them in for socialisation classes. Prices from £10 per day for one dog, or 5 walks for £45, with regular updates, as well as heaps of advise when ever you need it, we really can make a difference. Get in touch now! Availability is limited. ♥️🐶
The important thing when training a dog off the lead is good communication, followed by positive reinforcement. I use an Audio/Visual technique where I shout the name of the dog, then point to my feet. When she gets to me, she sits and then I fuss her and give her a treat. That way, if I’m a distance away, she has an audio, and visual Q to come back.
Today we did a little on the lead training with Ozzie. He pulls like mad at times but with a little bit of patience he got it very quickly. With working dogs, they love a clear command followed by positive reinforcement, whether that’s a treat, or a fuss. 5 minutes at the start of a walk makes a huge difference over all.
Yesterday we spent a little bit of time teaching frank how to behave on a road. For such a large dog we don’t want him pulling when he’s older. (He’s still a puppy believe it or not.) afterwards we had a stroll around Felley woods with the other dogs. It’s always good fun watching them play happily, the benefit of having 2 sets of hands is that we can split up to focus on weaknesses when required.
We forget how lucky we are sometimes! We’ve had Nala since she was 8 weeks old, she’s grown into such a beautiful dog!
Everyone meet the newest member of the team! Berry the Bengal 🐱 we’ve taught her to walk on a lead and follow us today. Who’d of thought it 😂🤷🏽♂️
Hey everyone this is Millie, the newest addition to The Puppy Club! She's a 14 week old sprocker puppy and she's beautiful. Here we are practising recall and she's already got the hang of it ❤️
