Lessons available for nervous and beginners to competitive riders up to Advanced EA dressage and Level 1 HRCAV/PCAV dressage & eventing. Hi there, let me start off by saying I am fully insured for lessons and training and have a registered ABN, Working with Children Check and Senior Level 2 First Aid. I have been trimming hooves and performing Myofunctional Therapy which is a type of remedial mass

age for a number of years (over 10 actually). I have also been riding for over 30 years and competing dressage and eventing since I was 8. I am experienced with many breeds and getting the best from each them as well as having broken in some of my own horses and retrained many OTTs. My range of experience is quite broad and not limited to riding and competing other people's well trained mounts. I have brought along many horses from scratch to be very competitive mounts and I have also rode and trained horses for riders who simply enjoy riding for pleasure and out on the trail. I am skilled at ground work and working with gaining trust in both horse and rider. No shortcuts or devices... just good old fashioned horsemanship. My qualifications for trimming came from being apprenticed to a qualified farrier not a weekend barefoot course. Since gaining this qualification all of my horses have been barefoot and competed in dressage, jumping and been out trail riding, so I understand how important it is to have a balanced healthy hoof and the way you trim maximises your horses ability to manage different terrains. I also keep abreast of new veterinary advice in relation to ways to relieve or alleviate issues such as navicular, locking patellas, tendon strain/bowing etc. I currently trim several pigeon toed and club footed horses with excellent results and a few youngsters with locking patellas as per veterinarian instructions. I became qualified in massage after rescuing a couple of horses with ongoing muscular/lameness issues. It is amazing just how many physical and mental issues can be solved through simple massage or other underlying issues that can be discovered by eliminating the symptoms that are relieved by massage. Massage can also be essential for horses in regular work to keep their muscles, tendons and ligaments healthy and funtioning optimally and encourage healthy circulation. Lessons and horse education - I have over 30 years experience in riding and training horses of all levels from breaking to FEI. I have competed extensively in dressage, eventing and show jumping. I have pupils of all ages and levels who enjoy a range of riding activities from hubbies learning to trail ride with their wives, to children, teenagers and adults competing at PCAV, HRCAV and EA. I am also helping riders with their first young horses from educating horses under saddle to backing the under 3yos. I work with any type of rider and any breed of horse getting the best out of you both and understanding the different physcial and mental types of people and horses. I also provide cross country training days around various courses such as Wandin, Bunyip, Pakenham, Tooradin etc. I am based in Drouin, West Gippsland and I travel through West, South and parts of East Gippsland, Morning Peninsula and the Dandenongs. Upon special request I can attend other areas if there is a group booking.
