Poor Cleo ... these little girls are more than old enough to be feeding themselves now.
The entomology study group meets every 4th Tuesday after tea.
After a wait of almost a year, we took Kedi to her foster home this afternoon. We were a bit anxious about how she'd settle as she's not always the easiest cat. She strode out the carrier, had a bit of a look around, found the box of toys under the table, selected one she liked and spent ages rolling around the floor with it. Then had some tea and used the facilities. Nice one Kedi ... wishing you a lovely new chapter of your life ###x
Someone is going to get her bottom smacked in a minute ...
Little Kian went off for a day out at the vets on Friday. She's come home with a crazy new hair cut that apparently is all the rage for young ladies of her age. The discharge sheet informed us that she might be drowsy for a day or two. Kian clearly hadn't read this and bowled in as high as a kite. She drowned all her soft toys in her water bowl, then proceded to ladle the water out with her paws and grabbed the toilet roll off me when I went in to try to mop up. She's a little more subdued today ... not least because Kedi (her mum) is hissing at her because she smells different.

When you've been selfless for pretty much the whole of their tiny lives ... and now you just want a turn with the toy
Aunty C has been coming to play with Paddy and Niamh every weekend. They both love it but Paddy just gets ridiculously excited when she arrives.
Kedi's kittens are 11 days old today. Starting to open their eyes and learning to purr. She's being a lovely mum to them.
This precious little family aren't out of the woods yet. Kedi seems quite a bit better and we're getting the hang of her inhalers. However, the kits now seem to be struggling a bit with their breathing. Back on to the vets as soon as they open tomorrow morning.
Padraig and Niamh are off to the vets tomorrow. Pads for his second vaccination and Niamh for her first. Padraig is doing the big brother thing and making sure she's all smart and clean for her appointment.
Uncle Jed is on babysitting duty this New Year's Eve. Here he is washing Muriel before getting her into her pjs ... and hopefully off to bed.
Now that Muriel is fully vaccinated she's returned here from her foster home. She's spent the weekend meeting Hanne and starting to estabish what we hope will be a life long friendship.
Zooplus delivery days are the best kind of days.
Our office assistants haven't been terribly focused on their work today. Nocka just couldn't resist Walter's twitchy tail.
It's lovely to see Nocka starting to feel better and be a kitten again. Her appetite has returned and she spends a lot of time chasing around and playing. Here she is just snoozing her way through a work meeting earlier this week.
And a big 8 Lives welome to Walter who arrived last night. We're officially over full again now. Walter doesn't care about that though ... he's just enjoying getting settled in and comfy.
Betty sent us a very excited message earlier this week. She was celebrating the 7th anniversary of her Gotcha Day with a special meal that she shared with her older adopted sister.
Betty arrived at the home of her adoptive parents 7 years and a few months ago. She was very heavily pregnant, living on the streets and desperate to find a safe space to have her kittens. The lady who found her fell in love with her but wasn't confident to care for her through the birth and bringing the kittens up, so Betty came to us to have the kittens. Once they were grown up and rehomed, Betty went back to her. She's been a pampurred pussy cat ever since.
Cat behaviour can appear a ittle random at times and a house full of cats seems on the surface to be pure chaos. However, beneath that there exists an intricate set of power dynamics, routines and time shares. Bed time is the time for Timtam and Dasher to come on the bed for cuddles with each other and with me. For 20 minutes they bump heads, wash each other, and snuggle up to me. If I'm late to bed one or other or both will come to find me. The other 23 hours and 40 minutes they rarely come near me, aren't that often seen together, and never get on the bed.
It's been Hilde's turn to attend the family planning clinic today. Weighing in at 2.1kg she was just big enough. Solly found it quite difficult to be without his kitten all day, but enjoyed being the centre of attention for a while. He even broke from his usual solemn face and did some purring.
Hilde returned at tea time, full of tales of the people she'd met and the responsible choices she'd made. Here's the video of them being reunited.
Rowan is getting his kitten ready for bed. Hopefuly we'll have a bit of peace and quiet soon.
