We have new followers, and it’s been a bit since we introduced the . Our page is named after our sister Pipsqueak. She was a 1.8-pound Yorkie whose mission was to spread joy as far as possible. After Pipsqueak passed away, the rest of the pack is filling in and spreading joy. Meet the pack:

🐾 Dinky Bean - A 3.6-pound Shorkie (Shih Tzu/Yorkie). Dinky was adopted after being dumped at a high-kill shelter to be euthanized. She is around 15 years old and as spunky as they come. She loves to complain for 5,000 treats a night. Her tail never stops wagging, and she loves to lick people raw.

🐾 Lily - Our silly Lily is a 5-pound Maltese. She was rescued after being found wandering the grounds at a Walmart distribution center. She is goofy and enjoys life like no other. She loves food, running, and barking.

🐾 Hermie/Herman - Hermie is a 5-pound Chihuahua, Maltese, Yorkie, Shih Tzu mix. He was adopted at 6 months after being found in a field with talon marks on his back from a bird of prey. Handsome Hermie loves to give fist bumps, tell stories, and he is always the first to greet anyone who comes over with high-pitched barks and squeals.

🐾 Snuggie Boop - Boop is our newest addition. She is a blind senior Poodle and is the big dog weighing in at 8 pounds! She is the snuggliest dog we’ve ever had. She loves people and just wants to sit on your lap and get pets.

🐾 Trinket - Our tiny Trinket girl weighs 2.8 pounds. She is itty-bitty. She is a Shih Tzu who is blind and has some other health issues but is a feisty little girl. She and Pip were two peas in a pod. She loves to bark and bounce, and honestly, she is about as perfect as they come.

So, for those who are new, welcome to the pack, and to those who have been with us from day one, we are so glad you’re here.

Our new girl needs a name. The rescue called her Kiki, but she doesn’t respond to that at all. It’s also confusing Dinky. So, you all get to help us pick!

Some facts about our girl: She loves to snuggle and be held. People are her favorite thing ever. She also loves bones, lick mats, and sleeping. She is blind and weighs about 9 pounds (the big dog in the house) and is an old lady.

Please vote for your favorite name for her:
1. Boop (because she boops into everything trying to find her way)
2. Fifi (like fee fi fo fum since she’s the giant dog)
3. Iris (like the iris in an eye)
4. Cecilia (means blind and call her Cici probably which is close to Kiki)
5. Snuggles, nickname Snuggie (because she loves to snuggle and also loves to use our Snuggie as a bed)

Vote away!

Our friends at are working to raise $10,000 for their 10th Anniversary. We want to help and will be matching every dollar raised up to $1,000. So that means, when you donate $1, it automatically becomes $2.

For a decade, Medical Mutts has trained rescue dogs to become service dogs and help individuals with disabilities. It is our favorite nonprofit. In fact! One of the pack members will be at their Anniverswry Party in September 30th so you can meet her. (Details to come.)

Medical Mutts has had lots of extra expenses caring for the 34 dogs at their facility and could really use our help. Please donate and watch your donation double by the Pipsqueak Pack! Give at https://secure.givelively.org//donate/medical-mutts/10th-anniversary/kelsey-burton-3 (LINK IN BIO)

Last but not least of the : Meet Trinket! Trinket is our tiniest member at just 3.0 pounds. She has some neuro issues and is blind, but that doesn’t keep her from being 100% sassy. We are so glad the rescue reached out to us about her knowing we have experience with tiny dogs with medical issues. We can’t imagine our lives without our tiny ball of sunshine.

‼️ Our Friends at Urgently Need Our Help ‼️

From their page: We are dedicated to giving shelter dogs a second chance by training them to become service dogs. Unfortunately, the crowded shelters many of these dogs come from often expose them to various health issues, including giardia. We believe that every dog deserves a chance at a healthy and happy life, which is why we are reaching out to you, our valued supporters, for help.

Lately, we have experienced an alarming surge in the number of dogs entering our facility with giardia. This highly contagious parasite requires immediate attention and treatment. We have 34 dogs under our care, all of whom need to be examined, tested, and treated to ensure their recovery.

To combat this outbreak effectively, we urgently need to implement rigorous cleaning protocols throughout our facility. This includes acquiring specialized cleaning supplies and dedicating additional time and effort from our dedicated staff. However, the costs associated with these essential measures are substantial.

We estimate that the minimum required funds to cover f***l tests, treatment for all 34 dogs, and the necessary cleaning supplies will amount to a minimum of $2500. Would you consider helping helping us provide them with the care they deserve and prevent further spread of giardia?

Your donation will directly impact the well-being of these dogs, providing them with the chance to recover from this distressing condition. In addition, it will help us continue our vital work, offering a safe haven for more dogs in the future.

Join us in our urgent fundraising campaign and make a meaningful impact today. Together, we can ensure that each dog in our care receives the necessary treatment to overcome giardia and live a life full of love and happiness. Your support truly makes a difference.

Donate at https://secure.givelively.org/donate/medical-mutts/help-us-heal-shelter-dogs (Link in Bio) or via Venmo

Donate now and help us reach our goal of $2500 to heal our shelter dogs and create a healthier environment for all. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

🇺🇸On this Memorial Day, let's take a moment to reflect and express our gratitude for those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice.

The Pipsqueak Pack joins the nation in paying tribute to these heroes. As pups, we may not fully understand their valor, but we feel the love and respect in the air. ♥️🤍💙

🐾 Meet our dear friend Beth (holding our sweet Pipsqueak), who has been silently battling kidney disease for over twenty years. After making significant lifestyle changes to manage the disease, Beth's kidney function continues to decline. The only viable long-term solution is a kidney transplant from a living donor.

🩺 If you're interested in learning more about the donation process, please contact IU Health Transplant. You can also reach out to Beth (via our PMs) with any questions you may have.

🧡 It's a big ask to consider donating an organ, but with Beth's insurance covering all medical expenses and a swap program in place, one donor can potentially help numerous people in need. Donors also have no dietary restrictions and can resume normal activities after a short recovery period.

🙏 Let's rally around Beth and support her in finding a living donor. Share this post and keep Beth in your thoughts. Together, we can make a difference and give Beth the gift of life. 🐶💙

Our little Dinky Bean hasn’t been feeling too hot since her surgery yesterday. She’s been having some pain and swelling from the removal of the masses. She kept us up most of the night which means we are all feeling a little worse for wear today.

Luckily, she has the best vet and vet team ever, and they have been changing her wraps and helping walk us through everything. (Check out her stylish wraps. 🐑 🐓) She even got cold laser treatment today and wore doggles.

We are hoping our little girl will feel better soon as her body heals. She’s a trooper but also not used to feeling yucky.

Many of you remember our posts about Clothes With A Cause and the store owner/our friend, Kelli. Kelli has been an inspiration to us from the moment we met her. I knew from our first conversation so many years ago that she was someone who truly wanted to make the world a better place. Her desire to help is matched only with her quick wit and incredible work ethic.

Cancer is taking her from us all too soon. She is in hospice now, and all I can hope is that she has more good days than bad and that she is surrounded by her lovely family and very dear friends.

Last year, I asked her if I could start something called Kind Like Kelli on her birthday each year, July 12th. I wanted this to be a day to urge our community to put kindness out into the world. (She said yes. Anything to make the world a kinder place was good in her eyes.)

I promised her no matter what, I would continue this day on for as long as I’m around. And I will. I promise that I will promote this day and ask others to be Kind Like Kelli.

Honestly, there have been some times recently where it’s been hard for me to be kind because kindness wasn’t shown to me. I then whisper to myself, “be Kind Like Kelli” or Kelli’s mantra, “We can do hard things.” It helps me readjust my mindset.

So that’s what I mean when I say she’s an inspiration. She inspires me to be better. To do better. She has that in common with Pipsqueak.

And for that, and so much more, we will forever be thankful to her.

Kelli, you have had and continue to have an impact that is bigger than you will ever know.

How fun is this and it helps support a good cause. We might be partial to the name Pipsqueak, but since it isn’t a choice, we picked another one!

Puppy love is in full swing around Medical Mutts. Help us name our newest puppy. This little guy was donated to us since he needs entropy surgery when he gets old enough. Since we need to raise funds to support him, we are hosting a contest to name the puppy.

He is a 3-month-old labradoodle who is starting his journey to becoming a service dog. Each vote is $5 and all donations will help us care for this little guy including vaccinations, neuter surgery, his entropy surgery, food, toys, treats, meds, etc. You will be able to select from the drop down and pick from a name. Name choices are Joey, Tiny Rick, Tyrion (Ty), Thunder, Maverick, and Askel.

(For a $1,000 donation, you can name the dog yourself!)

Vote at https://givebutter.com/namethepup Voting ends on February 14th.

2022 was a tough year for us. We miss our Pipsqueak every minute of every day, and it feels very lonely without our sweet Ava. Through the grief, we have felt the love you’ve all given. You’ve grieved with us and shared with us how much our Pipsqueak and Ava meant to you. You provided light to us during our dark times. Thank you for the support and for continuing to follow us as we share the adventures of the rest of the Pipsqueak Pack. We are hopeful for an uneventful 2023.

You all are the best! Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to help Medical Mutts Service Dogs in memory of Ava. With our matching gift added in, we are only about $1,000 from raising enough to get where we need to be. We are very close and that’s because of you being so amazing. It means so very much. I know our sweet Ava is wagging her tail a million miles a minute to see how many people are giving in her name. It’s all so very special.

We have until December 31 to match gifts: https://secure.givelively.org/donate/medical-mutts/hounds-for-the-holidays/

On Christmas evening, our sweet Ava started to fail very quickly. We helped her cross the rainbow bridge yesterday at noon in the comfort of our home while being held in my arms.

Ava loved more than any dog we’ve ever known. Her biggest joy in life was to be on my lap. As long as I was there, she was happy. It feels incredibly lonely to not have her following me everywhere I go. For over 15.5 years, she has been my constant shadow.

We got Ava when we were just out of college when we lived in Wisconsin. We were going to look for at puppies for my Uncle, but we fell in love with this little, sassy dachshund when she decided to pick up a glass of water and carry it. It was adorable when the water splashed out of the cup and on to her head when she tripped over the cup. It was love at first spill.

She was an incredibly difficult and needy puppy, and she taught us so much about being dog owners.

Over the years, this tolerant girl welcomed 8 dogs into our home. She taught all our rescues how to use dog doors, our daily routine, and most importantly to her, how to bark at just about anything. She loved to cuddle and would cuddle with any dog who would join her.

Coming home to her was always a treat. She would whine and wag her tail, and sometimes, she even did the wee wee of joy.

We had so many adventures together including living in three cities in two different states. She was with us when we bought our first house, and our second, and our third. She was there when we got engaged and waiting on us when we got home from our honeymoon. She snuggled and comforted us through the loss of 4 dogs. She and I even had back surgery 1 week apart because if I was doing it, she wanted to do it, too.

She was an incredibly smart and strong girl. And she fought right up until the end. We are so happy that she didn’t struggle long and that we had almost 4 months of bonus time with her after her first seizure.

We never doubted for one minute that she didn’t love us with every cell of her being. If only we could all learn to wear our love for others as loud and proud as she did.

Rounding out The Pipsqueak Pack is the tiny girl who started it all, Pipsqueak, and all the other dogs of the Pack who are no longer here: Toby, Daisy, and Zoey.

We miss them all, and we think about Pip everyday. There will never be another Pip. She taught us more in her 8 years with us than we knew was even possible. She taught us about perseverance, how to be sassy, and that making people filled loved is a wonderful gift to give. At just 1.8 pounds, her presence filled a room.

She continues to inspire us daily to help the teeny tiny dogs and to try to make the world a little more joyful.

There is a Pip shaped hole in our heart that will forever be there.

Next up on The Pipsqueak Pack run through is Handsome Hermie. Hermie came to us from 4 years ago on December 30th. He was only 6 months old and was found in a field with talon puncture wounds in his back. That’s why his full name is Herman Hawk.

He was the best puppy ever, and his back healed so nicely. However, he was left with lots of fear which we work on daily. He’s come leaps and bounds, and we are so proud of him.

Hermie loves to talk, agility, training sessions, to play, and to sit on our shoulder like a parrot. We love this little 5 pound guy.

(P.S. This pic is by Stephanie Nicole Photography. How amazing is this pic?)
