Memphis is officially adopted and moved into his new home. He has a new dog brother to play with and a nice couple to care for him. Although 9 months is a long time, it seems like it flew by and I would have cherished more time with him. He taught me a lot and I like to think I taught him a few things that will stick with him as well. This one was a tough goodbye but he ended up where a cattle dog should be – in the country.

“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”

This video is about Memphis

18/04/2016

Memphis had to hit the books this afternoon to get ready for his busy week at school 🤓

15/04/2016

What else is there to do on a cold, snowy, wet day than to snuggle up with your hedgehog and take a puppy nap?

09/04/2016

Memphis got to spend a few hours at the lake yesterday. While he enjoys the water, he still needs a few more swimming lessons. Overall, a good experience for him!

06/04/2016

Sometimes Memphis likes to FaceTime with his dog friends back in Idaho.

01/04/2016

Memphis found a new place to snuggle....under the bed.

Happy Easter from this Easter bunny! (As if he needed bigger ears)

25/03/2016

Memphis had to get an Easter bath. Those are his "I really do not enjoy this" ears.

23/03/2016

Memphis had some fun today in lab working on his agility skills!

19/03/2016

Memphis got to go out to the barn today to meet some horses for the first time. He was a little unsure of these giant creatures at first but then got more comfortable with sniffing them and even offering a couple play bows.

16/03/2016

Memphis thinks squirrels are no good. I think most dogs would agree.

13/03/2016

Memphis got a full brush out yesterday and everyone was surprised by how much extra hair he had!

Foster mom can't go to Disney without getting Memphis a Mickey toy.

02/03/2016

Memphis had his first veterinarian visit today for a rash on his belly that has been bothering him for several days. He did amazingly well at behaving himself in the office around other dogs and new people. It turned out to be an allergic reaction to something we aren't sure of. So we were sent home with some antibiotics and a treat for being a good boy.

24/02/2016

Proud of this boy! He picked up this task in a single lab class. He has two distinct cues for flipping the light on (light) or off (switch). Next, we are moving onto working with a real light switch higher up on a wall.

23/02/2016

Memphis working on a nice "leave it." His impulse control has gotten much better. He won't even stare at the treats! He waits nicely until he's told "ok!"

20/02/2016

It's love your pet day! Memphis is celebrating with a new toy that he's already working on destroying.

14/02/2016

Happy Valentine's Day from this snuggle bug/love bug ❤️😉

12/02/2016

Memphis tried out this array of sleeping positions yesterday trying to find the perfect one!

11/02/2016

Here is some slow motion action of Memphis playing with a cat toy of all things. He makes some great faces.

Memphis: Carroll College Anthrozoology Program Dog

05/02/2016

What a good little man! Memphis got his anthrozoology training vest tonight after having a nice walk around campus and sitting quietly through a 50 minute class! This means he is now allowed to go anywhere on campus which will help us work on socialization.

02/02/2016

Memphis working on "under" under my desk. He's a snug fit!

Anthrozoology at Carroll College

One of the (many :) ) cool things about ANZ is that students get to work on fascinating research projects. Here, Natalie (in the hat) and Rachel carefully extract a saliva sample from Brenna's partner dog, Memphis. They're collecting a saliva cortisol sample to investigate the relationship between stress and behavioral persistence. Good boy, Memphis!

30/01/2016

Memphis has had a long week of meeting potential adopters, participating in research, and having nice greetings with other dogs so this is how he's decided to spend his weekend.

28/01/2016

The kitchen floor is a scary place for Memphis, he's always very hesitant about going in.

21/01/2016

Is that a giant bone or a tiny dog?

18/01/2016

Just chewing on a bone...in the strangest position

08/01/2016

Memphis is always creative with the "toys" he finds in the backyard. In these cases, it's an empty container of fish food and a piece of firewood. He always proudly brings them into the house to show off what he's found.

05/01/2016

It's amazing that Memphis can curl up enough to where he only takes up about 1/3 of his crate. Plus it's fairly adorable.

25/12/2015

Merry Christmas from Memphis and his foster mom Brenna. Yes one is a nice photo and one is of Memphis' natural pose.
