My Lovely Horse Animal Rescue was Established in 2011, run by mainly volunteers determined to end the suffering of animals in Ireland via education and lobbying for the enforcement of Animal Welfare Legislation. ♥️Isla♥️

Another day of fighting for this little baby 🙏 her front legs are stronger today and she's trying to stand on the fronts with someone holding her back end which is a big improvement since Friday but she has a long way to go yet🙏 She has a feeding tube in so the vets can make sure she's getting enough to eat. We're still holding out hope that she will get through whatever has caused the issues with her back legs. Our vets are amazing they are doing all they can for her ♥️

This poor little lady was rescued from a pound at 7 years old💔

She has a kidney issue which can make her a little incontinent and has some arthritis. Lisa is currently in foster with a range of dogs and is such a sociable little butterfly who is longing for her forever couch, can live with older children and would be a perfect companion for someone at home. Lisa has not been cat tested.

We have been made aware of 5, 5week old kittens who need help😪

They are in a very vulnerable place with their mammy, mammy will be trap and neutered but we really need foster homes for the kittens. These kittens have not had much handling so a home that is willing to put in some work with them🙏🙏

A Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine veterinary inspector Michael O’Reilly, of Primrose Banks, Cois Maigh, Mogeely, Castlemartyr admitted seven charges under the Animal and Welfare Act 2013, including one of obstructing, interfering, or impeding an authorised officer in the course of their duty.

The Veterinary Inspector received a suspended custodial sentence and was disqualified from keeping dogs for seven years

This beautiful girl came into our care in April after people seen her being dragged out of the boot of a car, discarded like rubbish. She was so scared, thin and full of worms.

Beatrice has been in a fantastic foster home where she has been described as extremely sweet and loving and a real cuddle monster, great when out on walks and happy to meet other dogs.

Beatrice is suitable to live with another dog pending a meet and greet, older children, and would love a secure garden to play in, she has not been cat tested..

Once all the chaos of yesterday developed it was hard to remember that the day had started so lovely🥰🥰
Padraig and Winston went to their amazing foster home🤗

Our two little "apple monsters" as we so lovingly call them! Put their heads straight down and didnt look back as we left🤣🤣

Moments like this make everything worth while, it makes our hearts burst with love and joy❤️

We rescued MLHR Quinn as a very young orphaned foal💔💔💔
We became his family and we love him dearly💖💖

Quinn has recently turned 3yrs old and standing at approx 14.1...we would love to find our boy his forever home.
He had such a difficult start in life, his mam dying when he was only a few weeks old😪😪

Quinn is a super boy who is great to catch, handle and good for the farrier.

Yesterday was one of the hottest days of the year and there’s more to come.

Sadly we had reports of people walking their dogs midday and leaving them in cars 🤯🤯🤯

Please please don’t do either, your dog will be ok if they miss a walk!!

If you see a dog in a car and are concerned contact the gaurds immediately, they need us to be their voice.

Make sure your pets all have access to clean fresh water and plenty of shade.

A little girl called Isla❤️

She had round the clock care last night, we alternated between feeding with the bottle and her mammy to make sure she got enough to eat after we don't know how many days she went without being able to feed 🙈so little and often was our plan. We got our 1st poo at 5am and we were delighted 🙌 we have her stable now to get her to our vets today to find out what's goin on.

Our vet has been out and we're very worried about her, the vet gave her fluids and pain relief we are monitoring by the minute all night and helping her feed, it will be touch and go. We are heartbroken to see such a beautiful baby struggling for life. Please keep this baby in your thoughts 😢 we will keep you posted

🚨graphic images These poor babies😔we named them Layla and Sedric💔the smell of infection and the pain they must be in. Our vet has been and they are both on antibiotics and to be monitored closely They have a long road to recovery just trying to get through the infection alone will be hard especially this little grey boy we called Sedric who is so emaciated 😪 Please donate towards helping these babies they need everyone behind them❤️ https://donate.mylovelyhorserescue.com/

The first horsebox is back at the farm with the mare and foal💔💔💔 We have no words left, this is just horrific!!! 💔💔💔 UPDATE 💔💔💔 This is the situation we were greeted with when we arrived for a mare and foal. Ireland needs a Garda Animal Crime unit and fast!!! Thank you to An Garda Síochána in Wicklow for assisting volunteers with this heartbreaking situation. These poor babies have a long long road ahead of them please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. If you can donate please consider helping, 4 innocent souls in need of veterinary treatment. ❤️ Aran ❤️ Aran came into our care in March after he was spotted straying in Bray, he would sleep in wet grass, shivering with the cold, he wouldn’t take shelter and was too scared to come close for food. Kind locals in Bray helped us to secure this boy after multiple attempts, we cried when he wagged his tail for the first time Aran started to settle into the MLHR family when he realised he was safe and loved. We’re so proud of how far this amazing boy has come and have promised him a bright future, he’ll never have to worry again. Now he’s ready for his forever home. We would like to find a loving home where the family will visit multiple times to build up a bond with him, he will need another dog in the home to aid his confidence, he is best suited to a home with teenagers and no cats. A Life Worth Living

My Lovely Horse Rescue was established in 2011 at the height of the horse crisis in Ireland and is run entirely by unpaid volunteers determined to end the suffering of equines in Ireland. We rescue, rehabilitate and rehome. We work with Gardaí, local authorities and the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine in moving starving, neglected, abused and abandoned equines to a place of safety. We lobby politicians and local authorities to increase compliance with legislation among land owners and horse owners. We believe that, while legislation like the Animal Health and Welfare Act broadly protects animal welfare, it does not reflect the rights of animals - the right to be free from hunger, thirst, fear, pain, loneliness - and the right to exhibit natural behaviours. We want laws to describe these rights in a prescriptive manner that is not open to interpretation. It’s our goal that better animal welfare legislation is properly enforced to protect the right of all horses to - not just life - but a life worth living.
