Play date with Orestilla Miniature Dachshunds 😍😍
Surprise!
When you put the ultrasound on to see if there’s anything exciting happening and a little face pops up ‘Hello! Is it me you’re looking for?’
😍😍😍
Dime rushes to Mitchs room, jumps on his bed and checks his pillow and then laying waiting for him. 🥺
Little miss 😍 she’s sooo pretty 🤩 awaiting her perfect home 🏡
Sound desensitising well under way. Yelling and cheering, fireworks and all snoozing without a care in the world.
We do a whole range of noises, construction noise, lawn mowers, kids fighting (I don’t need YouTube for that one, just put my kids out with them 😅) dogs barking, thunder and rain, etc etc.
Ohhh we are starting to realise we have siblings! 😍😍
Day 3 and everyone has caught on (after the initial I’ll try and jump/OMG there’s food/hi I’m so excited to see you) they work out pretty fast that no food comes your way if you’re bouncing around. Sit and wait nicely 🥰
Who says you can’t teach 8 pups at once 😎🤪
Creating well mannered little people who sit and wait patiently. ** work in progress!** this is attempt 2.
The babies were very confused today! Hela looks like mum but there’s no milk?!? What do you mean?? Safe to say Aunty introduction is an easy task, and it’s so good to see the babies confident with ‘strange’ dogs.
Actual washing machine this morning (and every day 😂)
Pushing the boundaries a bit today, Dime obviously went through this same routine as a puppy when we bred her, so her babies get the benefit of learning from her too.
Fireworks. And. It’s. Loud. 🧨 🎇 🎆
As you can see no one turns a hair. All happily sleeping.
Construction noises today 🔨 🚧 🛠️ ✅ 🪚
Day 1 of noise desensitisation, the number one fear for a lot of dogs- thunder storms. Our pups get to listen to varying noises allllll day so they are totally unfussed about storms, crying or playing kids, lawnmowers, traffic noises etc.
as you can see by it being a positive experience for them with their mum they don’t have the slightest issue with it.
What’s this green stuff???
Starting to want to play with each other and mum. This lasts about 1 minute before they all pass out 😂
While some are acting like they haven’t had a drink in a week, a couple sleep blissfully unaware
Teaching a bunch of hyperactive puppies to sit for a treat. I think I’ve lost my mind 🤣🤣
Teaching a bunch of greedy hyperactive puppies that they need to sit before they get a treat 🤣🤣 I must have lost my mind.
The joy and excitement at a bone bigger than all of you!
Make no mistake, Staffords are pigs! They love their food. We always make our dogs sit before they get fed, but we went a bit further with Dime and taught her a degree of food refusal. Not only does she need to sit, she has to wait until she is told that she’s allowed to eat by a verbal cue. Comes in extra handy when the pups are eating cause she sits and waits like a statue till they’re finished. I can walk inside and come back out and she’s still waiting.
We can throw treats towards her and put food in front of her and she will not eat till she’s told to.
Look at how beautifully she waits to do the clean up.
