Finally I found some free time for intuitive night drawing with cup of tea and myself wrapped in blanket :) Autumn mood is on!
I love the silence of the night and the inspiration that comes, with which you can do anything you want.
The main motif od this drawing was my two beloved goats of @veronica.bjorkman.1 from @birkavikingastaden: Sunna and Getrud. They are daughter and an a mother but i represent them as equal to eachother. I was inspired by duality of magic healers, Divine twins!
In the center, surrounded by animals is “Mistress of Animals” or “Lady of the Wild Things”, goddess of Periodic Regeneration. The epiphany of the goddess is inseparable from the noise o f howling and clashing, and the whirling dances.
She was the giver of life and at the same time she was the wielder of the destructive powers of nature. The feminine nature, like the moon, is light as well as dark.
In mythology there are many deities directly related to goats.
For example wild goat was sacred to greek, moon goddess Artemis, virgin of the hunt, protectus of maidens.
Assyrian fish deity Ea-Oannes also called Lord of the Watery Deep is associated with the goat or goat-fish. What is interesting Mistress of Animals is shown with a fish inside her, as symbol of fecundity related to water.
In late Middle Ages, witches were "portrayed as being transported through the air on goats. In these representations the devil appears usually as a male goat whose rump the witches kiss”.
Yesterday we finished project for @rasmusalmqvist which will be part of future bigger collaboration with @shogantattoo. Rasmus is one of our literally strongest partners in crime with organisation of @birkahistoricaltattoofest 💪🤟.
This tattoo is result of three sessions we did during the year and its hard to say how many hours it takes. However i cost us a lot of energy because we was using all the occasions and all the unusual places to continue this project. The final session was done on the Iron age burial ground in @gudahagen.
Im really happy that we dinally finished this amazing 100% machine free, hand poke piece!
This design is based on one of the Vendel period, Gotlands serpent discs. This paradise island is one of my beloved places in the world with Viking era wonder an UNESCO World Heritage Site
I think we both leave part of our hearts there.

Yesterday we starts new bigger project for @rasmusalmqvist which will be collaboratin with @shogantattoo. Rasmus came to Poland all the way from Sweden only for 24h to outline first element and to plan design which will be addded by Shogan!
I was honoured to make central part of this back piece. My hand poke design is based on one of the Vendel period, Gotlands serpent discs.

Summer tour 2022 is over and finally i have some short time to take break and breath and prepare myslef to Autumn/Witnter tour:)
During this summer i visited 6 countries and nearly 30 cities or villages. I was traveling on the road by car or ferries, longest bridges or motorboat :)
All summer trip it was around 7000 km in total! Among them around 3000 km i was driving car by myself. I can say it's my little success, i didn't expect i can do it. But i did it and i think
it's just the beginning of more lonley journeys, i hope in not so far future.
As many of you know im total extravert and i feed myself being in others people company. But this time
I totally fall in love to be in my own company, i didn't expect this too!
During 2,5 month i was surronded by wonderful people (i miss You all!!!) only 2,5 half day i was tottally alone but never lonely:)
It means that i was creating or was part of Tattoo Teams on Viking Festivals, Tattoo Conventions, Viking Tattoo Conventions, Music Festivals.
I bring home two (2nd and 3rd place) Best of Ornamental prices from 2 conventions in Scandinavia, which is big success for me!
I was visiting open air museums, museums, ancient sites, petroglyphs and runic stones and old human settlements and graves.
I was visiting my family and my dear friends and their lovely animals on my way.
Most of the time i spend sleeping outdoor in a viking tent or just anywhere where i just let myself to fall asleep, mostly grass or just floor:)
Mostly i was taking bath in icecold shower or lake or sea, suprisingly my body didnt react anymore for cold water :D
But i found later that baththub full of warm water is the best pleasure in a world and i dont need anything more!!
Im sooooo grateful with all summer meetings with my tattoo mentors, old friends, tattoo masters and new lovely people.
In result there are new, upcoming projects about which i inform You soon :)

Yesterday fun with Pernille Alring, Hanna Ågren in Lars Martinen Larma Tattoo.
Will those tattoos stay? I hope so, that something stay :) But how many, we find this out in next 3-4 weeks when the skin will peeled off and few months later when it settle :) Till now I did only one sole of the foot by hand poke and it stay quite nice. Experience with more than 60 palms helps little bit to understand sole of the foot.
Did it hurts? Im sure the pain level is higher than on a palm. Enjoy short video from The process:)

Last week i have occasion to make unique tattoo session in Skansberget near Stenby on Adelsö. Place with strong energy, where is located ancient castle and 70 visible graves below. In the rays of the sun, and on a warm grey rocks, we tattooed spinning, multiplied Raido runes which confirmation was inspired on Baltic Ugunskrusts.
Radio in journey of life brings movement, spiritual development and represents cycles of life. I hope that such strong symbols already serve You well Johan Sandmark and gives You lot of good energy 🙂
Personally as a traveler i love the deep meaning of Raido. When i Was creating design for Johan i did few versions and the simpliest one i also get as a tattoo done by Colin Dale from Skin and Bone Tattoo on a Stockholm INK BASH. I get also other Viking navigation tool. Thank You Johan for giving me piece of sunstone.
