‼️ We regret to inform that, due to financial constraints, we are compelled to implement an intake hold. Similar to other rescues, we can no longer afford to accept additional dogs. Our foster network is at full capacity, shelters are overcrowded, and the number of stray/dumped dogs is alarming. Unfortunately, adoptions and donations have decreased significantly, resulting in dwindling funds. While we are relieved to report that all our bills are up-to-date, we rely heavily on adoptions and donations to sustain our operations.

Notably, we invest in training for some of our dogs, as we take on complex cases. We also provide care for senior dogs requiring extensive veterinary attention. For owner surrenders, we require the family to foster their dog until adoption. You may still submit a surrender form, but please note that you must ensure your dog's vaccinations, f***l and heartworm tests are current. We cover spaying/neutering, monthly prevention, food, and microchipping expenses. Rest assured, we have a substantial number of dogs in our care, and we continue to seek additional volunteers.

❤️We will continue to share shelter dogs for exposure❤️

If you can, we appreciate boarding sponsors, training sponsors etc. Please email us at [email protected] if interested.

🎀 Meet Scarlett 🎀
Age: 2
Location: Bixby
Weight: 65 pounds

🐾 Miss Scarlett has been in her foster home for 1 week and she has proven to literally so far be one of the best dogs her foster has ever had! Day 1 she had to be coaxed in her kennel, day 2, bam 💥she understood the assignment and now goes in on her own! Her foster feeds her in the crate so she understands that it's not a punishment!

🚽 House trained? Yes! Her foster lets her out regularly and she has not had an accident! She has been good with the male 🐕‍🦺shepherd in her home but he is not an "in your face" dog. She will be tested with the other more rambunctious dog soon.

🐶 She is a very chill dog for being 2 years old! She wants to be playful but acts like she doesn't really know how. We believe with the right person that can teach her confidence, her personality ⚽️ will really shine! She loves her chew toys and bully sticks. She likes her food but does not devour it. She is a great car 🚕rider but her foster transports her in a crate. She has been left out of the crate for short periods of time and has not been destructive.

After being chained up and living on an outside concrete floor raising her 10 puppies, she LOVES her soft bed 🛌

If you are interested in giving Scarlett the life she deserves, please fill out an adoption application at www.oklahomagsr.org

👏Meet Willow👏

This sweet girl is a 3.5 year old gorgeous purebred GSD! She is spayed, house trained, and crate trained. 🏡🚽👏

Willow absolutely adores kids, although she does do better with a little bit older kiddos, she is patient and gives a warning vocalization when she does reach past her threshold! 👶

Willow grew up in a home with female dogs, and multiple female cats! 🐱 She can be good with male dogs but they also need to be good with listening to her boundaries! 🐕
(We do not guarantee she is good with all cats)

Willow isn’t a very big girl, she is about 60 pounds and has some foundations with basic training, she would absolutely love to continue that into some advanced skills with her new family! 📚

If you feel like you can give the world to this sweet heart please apply! 🌎

Before the month of October is over! 🎃🎃

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and at Oklahoma German Shepherd Rescue, we pause to honor the lives affected—human and canine alike. Many of the dogs that come into our care have faced heartbreaking situations, including homes touched by domestic violence. We do our best to provide them with safety, love, and a fresh start.

Every rescued dog is a story of resilience, and each safe harbor we create is made possible through the generosity of our community. While we never want to ask for more than you can give, it’s your support and donations that allow us to continue opening our doors to dogs in need.

This October, we are featuring a dog named Robyn! She is a very sweet 4-5 year old girl that needed some help with training, so we sent her to one of our trainers JPK9 Oklahoma ! She will be working on her dog reactivity, crate training, and basic obedience while with them! We stand with survivors and their loyal companions. Together, we can give these incredible dogs the second chance they deserve. 💜🐾

Stay tuned for her journey! And donate if you’re able 🎃🎃🎃
