Some general mouse care guidelines:

Please join Fancy Mice 101 for the most up to date, scientific guidelines.

Emiology on youtube is a terrible resource because she doesn't use science in her recommendations and she always recommends WAY too large of enclosures for mice. Mice prefer small, cozy cages with tons of clutter in the form of hides and toys, and enough does for the space you are housing them in (a 10 gallon tank is the minimum size for a single buck or for up to 4 does, then add 50 sq inches per doe after that, LxW (ignore height because while mice appreciate the ability to climb, they don't utilize vertical space in a meaningful way that would go towards the caging size guidelines.))

Feed only a nutritionally complete lab diet either made by Mazuri or Oxbow, in unlimited quantities at all times, and optionally you can also give unsalted black oil sunflower seeds, one small handful twice a week per cage, and also freeze dried mealworms, one small handful twice a week per cage. These are healthy sources of fats and proteins.

For shavings, use only either aspen shavings or kiln dried pine shavings, never paper shavings, because paper shavings have been shown scientifically to cause respiratory infections in mice due to toxic high ammonia levels caused by poor urine absorption.
