Seconds Away has been on the milk stand 2 days in a row.. not a fuss ever.... stands perfectly, and Aces High decided he loves her milk and drank it from a pail...... Winning !!!!!! Junebug has to be milked also, she produces 1.5 gallpns per day.... with a doeling at side, her bucklings are huge and getting weaned.....Junebug has 2 Bucklings available...... the sire is *B Begleys Troubled -Acre Shadow...

The story of Evie, we ai'ed her october 7th to DKGH LA DON'T BE A PLAYA. we ultrasounded her in November, vet didnt think she was bred, put her in with Manny in November, In January during that brutal cold snap I noticed she wasnt acting up to par, took temp, 97 degrees. low temp, brought her up to the house, she walked on her own, she slipped on the steps, we picked her up and lifted her, for 3 weeks she was down, I ULTRASOUNDED HER and determined she was bred, i shared her video on a Dairy goat ultrasound group and it was there opinion that she did in fact take on the ai date...She is up and walking again and doing well, we feed her 2 times a day. she has no teeth, and needs extra groceries...... so this is a miracle to me, and I am highly excited to see what she has for babies....... babies are alive and kicking....

This year we learned to Ai, we also hosted a class, Unfortunately our Ai does didnt settle, and due to circumstances we also missed the following heat so we are natural breeding to our herdsire Manny, he is a Woest Hoeve maverick son,whose sire is Lakeshore Vin Bell'uomo. his dam is Sg Woest-Hoeve Mc maggie. Mannys Dam is a Kastdemurs Most wanted daughter..

Wingwood farm Dill Arnica didnt take on our Ai attempt, we tried to Ai her again last night, but had a Light failure based on stupidity on our part, rotating the cap gives you constant light instead of holding a button in...... so we did a natural Breeding with Celtic Winds Mav's Wanted Man. he is a Woest Hoeve maverick son...... We are excited for thiss breeding due to Mannys size.. Arnica needs some size in her kids..All doelings retained.

Winter Flats Nubians Is Proud to announce we Officialy have won the Ndsf Grand and Reserve Champion Nubian doe, Arnica was Grand Champion Nubian, Summer Rain out home bred doe was Reserve, Arnica also got Reserve Champion in the Ndsf Overall Best in the Barn Dairy Doe, and she also went Reserve Champion in the Ndsf Breeding Doe competition.We are also pleased to say that 2 of our homebred goats , Winter Flats Thelma and Winter Flats Bta Ralph produced the Jr Champion Nubian Doeling, owned by Below Zero Dairy goats owned By Tessa Sigvaldsen. Our Doelings did well also, and we can't wait for them to mature.

HOW MUCH FOR A GOAT?
Let me say a few words to you, yes you, the person who sends a text to just ask for the price. The person who calls and hears the price and says “I can buy a cheaper goat somewhere else”. I'll talk to you too; the person who doesn't care about papers because I want “just a pet and milk goat to raise”.
No registered goat is “just a pet and milk goat”.
Behind every purebred goat is a BREEDER. I use capital letters to distinguish a breeder from an animal factory for lack of a better word. A serious breeder does not breed goats without documents that protect the integrity of the breed.
Registration papers are records of ancestry documenting the bloodline and enabling you to investigate possible health problems in your lineage.
When you tell a breeder you don't care about the papers, just tell them you don't care about the goats’s health, you just want the cheapest thing you can find!
If you choose to buy a goat from a reputable and quality breeder, this breeder is responsible for every goat’s health.
This breeder will skip vacations, miss sleep, and most of their personal time is dedicated to their goats and their well being. The truly passionate breeder, who loves what they breed, puts all of their time into it. Not only for goats that are sold, but also for every customer who owns a piece of their heart and is now a member of their large family.
A breeder will get his hands dirty, often covered in everything that comes with birth. Because that's what life is all about... in the midst of birth and death is life. The wheel that keeps spinning. A breeder conducts ultrasounds, analytics, emergency vet calls, vaccinations, registrations, researches pedigrees, deworming, hoof trims and provides the base start for the future of the goat in handling, milking and showing.
Last but not least, a breeder CHOOSES the family who is lucky enough to have one of their goats. Yes, you read correctly.
A real breeder chooses who they sell to.
There really is no compensation that can offset the investment a breeder has made.
A good breeder has other criteria for those who want to continue their bloodline, why? Because breeding isn't a responsibility to take lightly, it's a lifestyle choice reserved ONLY for the few devoted people willing to sacrifice.
Since a goat is never “just a pet” he/she is the legacy of the breeder, a little boy’s best friend, a caretaker of a little girl, therapy for the elderly, a member of the family, someone's whole world!
