Using the knowledge I've gained as a lifelong competitor, instructor, writer, observer, unaffiliated
judge and now as a trainee BD judge, I consistently notice the amount of marks that could be gained
by improving the ex*****on and accurate riding of movements and improved use of the arena.
Accuracy, confident ex*****on and full use of the arena enables you to present your horse to the best
of its ability and highlight your effective and correct use of the aids. If you ride an egg shaped circle
you are showing that your horse may be unbalanced or lacking suppleness, or that your aids aren’t
being correctly applied or understood as they should.
Just 0.5 for each mark on your sheet equates to
a significant 5% improvement for the test. With the percentages so close it could be the difference
between a lower placing and a first place.
I am able to offer training, exercises and advice to help you identify and improve your percentage by
gaining those all important accuracy and use of arena marks.
So if you are just starting out on your dressage journey or looking to improve your arena craft and
want to make sure you are achieving the highest possible accuracy marks that you and your horse
can, my first clinic focussing on improving your arena knowledge, skills and accuracy at Badgworth Arena on Monday 16 January is available to be booked now with other dates to follow. 1:1 session with
dressage boards £35.
Also available for freelance flat/jumping lessons at your choice of venue. Please take a look at my
