PARTIAL BRIDGE CLOSURE!

Starting March 6, 2025, the Rt. 873 bridge will be partially closed for construction. As crews work to rehabilitate the bridge over the next "year or so", only the northbound lane (toward Rt. 248) will remain open. Southbound traffic will be rerouted through Walnutport and Slatington. There is going to be lots of signs! Please plan your route accordingly! 🙏👍🇺🇲

Meet Mickey, a 9-month-old, male German Shepherd and Labradoodle cross. He was surrendered to the shelter with his sister. Mickey is 80 lbs. and will probably grow a little bit more into adulthood. Even though he’s a big boy, Mickey is still very much a puppy! Mickey is bouncy, silly, and a little mouthy, so his new family will need to help him work on that. He sure is sweet though! This goofball enjoys rough housing with his sister but also is down for snuggle-time with his volunteer friends. Mickey’s prior owners noted that he is a digger and experiences a little separation anxiety at times, though we haven’t seen evidence of that at the shelter. He enjoys the company of other large dogs and is purportedly amazing around children. He can be cat-tested if needed. Lets Teach our children to respect your dog's boundaries instead of allowing them to pinch, squeeze, hit, tail pull, eye poke, etc until the dog gets mad enough to defend itself. Don't let a child get hurt or a dog put down because of irresponsibility. All animals just want to be loved.

Meet little miss Muffin, a ball of energy and butt wiggles! Muffin is a Boston Terrier who is around 6 years old and weighs 15 lbs. She’s a very happy pup with a love for any toy that is round and rolls. In fact, she’s a pro at playing fetch! This girl loves to play hard and snuggle harder. Muffin is very smart, knows her basic commands, and is very food- and toy- motivated, which comes in handy for teaching new tricks. Muffin is potty trained and is also very good in her crate in the car, when you aren’t home, and at night. She’d love a home with a nice yard where she can run around and burn off some energy. Muffin is open to meeting other dogs, can be cat-tested if requested, and would be fine in a home with kids.
