Hello I'm Laura, the creator of LaurAnneArt! As a 4 year old I began my passion for art. I loved drawing endless rows of people with fine point markers. They all had shiny earrings, colorful nail polish, patterned headbands, multicolored shoelaces, and they always walked a dog with a leash. Hence, I had a love for detail. Over time, these small, very detailed people turned into watercolor landscap
es, charcoal sketches, clay pottery, fine art photography, and now the very thing I am creating today. Exactly 20 years later, I was creating décor for my own wedding with the same love for detail. Only this time, I came across an old wooden alphabet rubber stamp set from my grandfather’s farm. My mom told me she remembered my grandfather using these stamps day in and day out for his business. From the 1940’s to 1970’s, my grandfather raised his own hybrid seed corn and he used the rubber stamps to label the type of corn, his name, and prices on the bags. I took two things from this. I loved the stamped look and process, as well as the story behind the stamps. Much like the stamps, my artistic journey has its own story. From Psychology major, to Child Life Specialist, to military wife, I now also add artist to that list!
