*** DETAIL & BACKGROUND:
Mature, responsible and experienced single lady - lover of all creatures great and small :) Positive, with a 'can do' attitude and a natural affinity with animals. Firstly, I have to apologise in advance for the length of my profile, but I can't imagine that there is such a thing as 'too much' information when considering relinquishing the care and welfare of your home and animals to a stranger. I am a very experienced full-time sitter, who has sat a wide variety of animal/home/property scenarios throughout eastern Australia over the past few years. I have now settled on the Capricorn Coast. Within months of settling, I realised that I was missing the pet/home sitting! So now I have the best of both worlds... I do occasional sits all over Queensland, get my pet fix/change of scenery, and spend time at home in between :)

On a personal level, I am very friendly, reliable, ethical, responsible, practical, capable, honest, extremely compassionate, and I possess a great deal of common sense. I value privacy and that includes respecting yours :)

I approach my pet/home sitting with the same professionalism that I always employed throughout my (paid) working life and the rewards are immense. I have had the privilege of spending time/forming relationships with so many precious animals and this has created some treasured memories for me. I've travelled to places that I would never have otherwise seen and I have met some truly wonderful pet/home owners. I am very much a home-body, so will be a constant presence at your property for security purposes and will be a reassuring friend to your animal family - providing them with all of the care, company and attention that they deserve. While you are away, you can rest assured that no one will have access to your home, property or animals other than me. I consider pet/home sitting to be a very serious responsibility and as a 'job' to be done to the best of my ability - not as a lifestyle, therefore I do not socialise or entertain visitors in the homes of others. I am acutely aware of what an exercise in trust it is to leave that which is closest to most people's hearts, their animals and their home, in the care of a stranger. I am contactable 24/7 and I love to forward regular photos/videos for your peace of mind. All instructions given re routines, security, household, garden and animal care are followed to the letter.

*** ANIMALS:
Animals have been a constant presence in my life from childhood and I cannot imagine a fulfilling life without them. I feel that I have a great natural affinity with animals.. I have always had dogs, cats and while my three, (now adult), children were growing up, of course we had the usual parade of chooks, ducks, guinea pigs, mice, rabbits, birds, horses, donkeys and fish.. pet rats even! I have had my own horses from a young age, with the odd break here and there when life (children!) got in the way. Having been given two orphaned lambs to raise in recent years, I have discovered what a joy that they too can be as pets! I'm confident and happy to care for pretty much any combination of animal friends :)

*** HOME:
My own home-owning history extends for roughly 25 years. I have always taken great pride and pleasure in caring for and improving my homes to the greatest extent that I can. I am very house-proud, possess great attention to detail and am exceptionally conscientious in carrying out the care of client's homes. I love watering and tending to plants and gardens. Your home and surrounds will be treated with great care and respect. Though now not as young as I'd like to be, I am still very capable :)

*** POPPY THE PET SITTER:
Poppy is *sort of* a dog, (a Chihuahua x ??), although I don't believe that she thinks she's a dog at all! Pop is ten years old now and has always lived with other animals of all varieties, shapes and sizes. She has never been anything other than gentle, friendly and accommodating to all. She is 100% 'cat friendly' and, in fact, gives them a very wide berth ha-ha! Pop is completely house-trained, desexed and kept up to date with all of her vaccinations and worming. I carry her medical records with us should anyone need reassurance. Poppy is timid and apprehensive at first with dogs she doesn't know. Once settled however, she is fine with large dogs and young, playful dogs. In fact, she's been a great mentor for some of our younger/puppy doggo clients. She has also been a considerate and gentle companion for some of our senior clients :)

*** NOTES ***

RE DOGS/CATS:
- If your dogs/cats are accustomed to sleeping on the bed with you, that's no problem. The more, the merrier! :)
- I travel in my Hyundai Santa Fe SUV Wagon and am happy to chauffeur doggos to their usual outings, (should they have any), to the beach, dog park etc. LIMITATIONS:
- I do not pet/home sit while there is any other individual sleeping in the home.
- We are not able to look after dogs that have aggressive tendencies. RE SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS:
I travel with my own bed linen, pillow and doona, so there's no need to make up a bed for me. I can do that when I arrive. (Poppy brings her own bed too). WHAT DO I NEED? Nothing :) I provide my own food, groceries and all other supplies. I consume nothing from the home.

How does your garden grow? 🍀 Show me your gardens! 🙏 We have a string of 30+ degrees ☀️forecast, so today is drowning day for all of Pip and Bryn’s gardens 💦🤗

One thing I do miss as a Pet/Home Sitter is having my own garden to nurture, but I do enjoy all of the gardens that we caretake 🙂 It’s particularly rewarding when we do repeat sits, as I get to see how everything’s progressed🫛changed.

We’re truly blessed to have some beautiful people to call our repeat clients and we appreciate them so much 😊 On arrival at our current sit, Poppy had a special present waiting for her - a gorgeous new ‘Poppy sized’ bed, with pink blankets 🤗 She loved it immediately!
I moved it to the main living area, as Poppy was stealing Aria’s, (the pusscat’s), bed in there. As you can see, Pip’s loving it too, even if it is a bit squishy! 🤣

One of these things is not like the other 😁 When tucking the chooks in tonight I found three of these cheeky kids in the chook pen pilfering chook food. “Brush Turkeys are a large, ground-dwelling bird with black-brown plumage, a bald, red head and a yellow neck pouch (or wattle). Their chicks hatch fully feathered and can fly within a few hours. The Australian brush turkey can be found from Cape York Peninsula in Far North Queensland to south Wollongong in NSW, having extended its habitat south in the last few decades. They live in rainforests near the coast and in drier scrub further inland. They spend most of their time on the ground but roost in trees at night. Brush turkeys are threatened by habitat destruction. Their preferred habitat of rainforest has largely disappeared from many areas in Queensland, and is under continuing threat. The bird is locally extinct in some areas where it used to live before Europeans settled in Australia. While brush turkeys are prominent in some urban areas, breeding success is very low there compared to their natural habitat. Brush turkeys living in urban areas may not contribute to the long-term survival of the species. Breaky time for little ones 😊 Despite having a whole range of yummy foods on offer and being very thin, Molly (15) and Odie (14) are not much interested in food.. particularly Odie 😕 We’ve worked our way through all of the options available and the only success that I’ve had is with the chicken. Odie has successfully trained me to feed it to him by hand, morsel by morsel 😄 I’m so concerned about him losing any more weight, that I’m more than happy to do so! We care when you can’t be there..

I am a mature (55), responsible woman who has been pet/home sitting on a full-time basis for just over two years now. What began as an experimental adventure has evolved into a passion and a way of life that I thoroughly enjoy. I approach my pet/home sitting with the same professionalism that I always employed throughout my (paid) working life and the rewards are immense. I have had the privilege of spending time/forming relationships with so many precious animals and this has created some treasured memories for me. I've travelled to places that I would never have otherwise seen and I have met some truly wonderful pet/home owners.

At the foot of my profile you can browse reviews that have been very kindly left for me by some of these people, those who engaged my services via this website. (I do have more reviews from further clients that have been left on another platform that I use).

I am an excellent housekeeper, but my true love is the animals. I know this because, when travelling to every sit, whether it's a return sit to animals who I already know, or a first-time sit, I feel so excited to see/meet them! I have been surrounded by animals for my entire life and I really can't imagine life without them. I feel that I have a great natural affinity with animals.. hopefully the feeling's mutual!

On a personal level, I am very friendly, reliable, ethical, practical, capable, honest and extremely compassionate. I value privacy and will respect yours. I do not ever invite friends/family into your home, ever. While it is not a paid pastime, I see my pet/home sitting as a 'job' and I conduct myself accordingly. I pass no judgement re how others choose to live their lives.. if their animals are well-loved and cared for, that's good enough for me.
