Lot´s of Veterinarians do amputate legs of dogs COMPLETELY! That happens so many times, but it´s not required ALWAYS !!!
1.) So many vets take the chance off of the dogs to let them have a life with PROSTHESIS or ORTHOTICS / ORTHOSES!
2.) So many vets take the chance off of the CARE TAKERS and NEW OWNERS to decide by THEM SELF what should happen to the dogs by surgeries!
3.) So many vets decide
by THEM SELF to amputate a leg INCLUDING THE WHOLE SHOULDER / HIP COMPLETELY instead of thinking about the rest of the life of the dog!
4.) YES... the VETS say that it is MUCH EASIER to amputate COMPLETELY... OF COURSE... because THAT is NOT that much work for THEM!!! It´s a question of NECESSITY to amputate a LEG / SHOULDER / HIP if just the paw or a lower leg is not curable! Many good PROSTHESIS or ORTHOTICS / ORTHOSES can be bought for the dogs so that they can have a normal life with FOUR LEGS! If there is a paralyzed dog, NO ONE will amputate the hind legs! This dog gets a wheel cart and so it is able to move! This page is to show that good possibilities are available and to think about that, before amputating a leg completely. The care takers and the new owners can inform them self and talk to the vets before they amputate completely! Also these dogs have better chances to get adopted and a much better life with 4 legs and a prosthesis! HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES of some good possibilities for NOT amputating a leg COMPLETELY! Canine Orthoses - Canine Prosthesis - Canine Splints
