Wildlife doesn't have it easy. They have to search for food, stay on high alert from predators, protect their babies with their own lives, and have to suffer from inclement weather in Summer.

Please help protect wildlife always.
Watch out for animals in need and help them, put out fresh and clean water, don't trim your trees in Summer, so many ways to lend a helping hand to them 🙏

Repost from David Attenborough Fans page

In our world, we bury the dead.
We light candles. We say words. We try to make peace.
But in the wild?
There are no eulogies. No soft goodbyes.
Only instinct, silence, and things left unspoken.
Yet somehow… this little bird stayed.
Pressed against the body of one it likely loved.
Not for food. Not for safety.
But for something harder to name.
We like to think emotions are ours.
That pain belongs to poets, and mourning is a human luxury.
But nature tells another story.
Here, on the hard ground, no one’s watching.
No camera crew. No crowd.
And still — it mourns.
Maybe not with tears.
Maybe not with understanding.
But with presence.
Because even in the wild, the heart knows what it lost.
And sometimes, even the smallest creatures
carry the heaviest feelings.

This is real.
Bluebird mom's in my backyard, look at her face, she is terrified of firework loud noises, same as my dogs.
Thank you for nothing and your stupid fireworks.

Please, please.
For the safety of wildlife and your own or your friends pets, NO FIREWORKS!

Enjoy watching them on TV or enjoy the quietness, knowing you have helped.

Thank you! 🙏

Wishing everyone a wonderful and safe weekend! We know many of you will be enjoying the day with barbecues, picnics, and time with loved ones. We also know fireworks are a big part of many celebrations, and we hope you’ll join us in looking out for our wild neighbors afterward.

Every year, July 5th is one of our busiest days at Carolina Waterfowl Rescue. We see an increase in injured and displaced birds and other animals following fireworks, as loud explosions and bright flashes can cause them to flee their nests or habitats in confusion and fear. Animals can end up lost, hurt, or in places where they can’t find food or safety.

So while you enjoy the holiday, please keep an eye out in the morning for birds or other animals that might need help. If you find a bird on the ground that looks stunned or injured, or see any animal in distress, contact our hotline right away at (704) 286-6330 so we can assist.

Your awareness can make a big difference for animals affected by the celebrations. Thank you for helping keep our community’s wildlife safe, and we wish you a joyful, safe, and compassionate Fourth of July.

PLEASE, NO FIREWORKS THIS YEAR🙏🙏🆘🆘

PLEASE, NO FIREWORKS THIS YEAR🙏🙏🆘🆘

It's that time of year... so here's your annual reminder that loud fireworks can seriously harm wildlife, pets, and even people. Some alternatives to fireworks while you are gathered with friends and family celebrating Independence Day are...
🫧 Blowing bubbles
🔦 Indoor laser lights
🪅 Red, white, and blue piñatas
🐘 Elephant toothpaste (https://tinyurl.com/ElephantFoam)
🧶 Silly string
🔫 Water fight
And if you still NEED your firework fix, please choose quiet fireworks like sparklers, snakes, and fountains or go to your city's fireworks display instead of shooting off your own to minimize the noise and the number of locations disturbed. 🇺🇸

ADOPT DIAMOND ✨

This gal is a stunning, smart and oh-so-eligible pup ready to find her perfect match. Diamond is housebroken, crate trained and a pro at tricks — including "Speak!" and "Roll Over!" She absolutely loves to go swimming and work on her exercises and training.

Diamond will thrive in a home with adults where she is the only pet, because this gal deserves it. Her adoption fee is fully sponsored, so all you need to bring is love (and maybe a cozy lap for her to rest her head on).

Diamond is located in Chicago and available for adoption through One Tail at a Time
