+Charlie was rescued in May 2007 when her owner was moving away and was advertising her as a "free" dog to anyone who could take her. She was not spayed and appears to be pure-breed so you can imagine that people were most likely going to use her as a breeding dog. A family friend took her in and the
n offered her to us... and this is how our lives as rescuers started!
**************Boni-Daschund Mix**************
+Boni was rescued in November 2008 when her owners left for vacation and left her in the backyard inside a rabbit cage, no food or water.
**************Churro-Schnauzer/Poodle Mix**************
+Chuuro was rescued in September 2009 after wondering the streets of San Ysidro, a border town. She was matted, underweight and infested with fleas.
**************Dude-Australian Shepherd**************
+Dude was rescued in May 2011 after his owners did not want him anymore and would let him wonder the neighborhood, not UTD on shots or neutered. He was relinquished to me.
**************Vaca-Retriever/Lab/Pit Mix**************
************** Canela-Terrier Mix **************
+Vaca and Canela were rescued together in December 2011 after I learned of their horrific living conditions. Vaca had been living at the end of a chain for 7 years, barely any food or water and NO shelter at all for 7 years. Canela was tossed with Vaca when she was just a 6 weeks old puppy. She would try to feed off Vaca but Vaca would not let her and snap at her. Both were struggling to survive by eating their own urine and f***s. They would only fed three or four times a week. Canela was basically feral, never had any human interaction, never petted, would only see people when they went outside in the backyard.
