Yesterday, we said goodbye to Tahoe — the dog I always wanted, the dog who became everything I could’ve hoped for and more. Tahoe was adopted from the Lake Vista Tahoe shelter in California in 2014, and I knew from the moment I saw him that his name had to be Tahoe. He was between one and two years old, and it didn’t take long for him to settle into our family and become an integral part of our lives.
Tahoe was always ready for adventure — whether it was swimming in the Bay, running through regional parks, or joining our training walks with the R+ Dog team. He loved the California life, and when we made the cross-country move to Louisiana, he made sure we were all safe and sound every step of the way.
Tahoe was more than just a pet. He was a Certified Canine Good Citizen, a star in a BarkBox ad with Zak George, and an active participant in our community. He enjoyed nose work, tried barn hunt, and won countless costume contests. He loved the work he did with R+ Dog, helping countless dogs with everything from socialization to aggression. He was a solid assistant, always eager to help, and a favorite among all the dogs and people he met — especially the girls!
Tahoe will forever be remembered for his kindness, intelligence, and unwavering love. Rest easy, sweet boy. We will never forget you. 💔
