Franny at agility practice Monday night. We came close to a wipe out when she took the jump instead of doing the tunnel to tunnel sequence, but I'm really happy with how she has been running. Thanks Liana for a great class and Lois for taking the video of our run.

We made it to the APBTCONE UKC show in Mass on Sunday. Groot was BOB in show 1. He also was able to get his 3rd Qualifying run in weight pull recieving his WP title ( pending UKC) and a Total Dog. I was so proud of Groots litter mate, Rhetta who qualified in Rally and also won the Ch class in show 2 Sunday. It was really great seeing everyone. Thank you to Judi and Kylie for coming out, Jo for giving Kylie the opportunity to show Keno, and Lucy for always giving Rhetta the opportunity to live life to its fullest.

Franny playing the game " 3 of a Kind" basically it's a timed game where you need 18 points you get 1 point for jumps, 3 points for tunnels,and weaves and 5 points for contact equipment. You can get an extra 10 points for doing the threadle. Once the buzzer rings you have 5 sec to get over the line or you loose points. It was fun.

We had a great weekend at the COBRA UKC agility trial in PA. This was our first trial with agility games in addition to the traditional classes and the dogs had a lot of fun with them.
This was Groots first agility trial....and let's just say he had fun. I know what I need to work on with him...maybe cotton balls up his nose would help...LOL.
Hope just ran in the tunnels game and she loved it.
Franny ran in everything and had a great weekend earning her UGRACH 3 pending UKC approval.
Thank you to judges Becky Claire Gregory, Steve Blair, and apprentice judge Jen,for such a fun trial,.Thank you Suzanne for keeping things running smoothly despite technical problems, and everyone who pitched in to keep things moving so nicely. It was a great group of people and dogs.

Groot had a fun....and hot weekend at the APBTCONE UKC show in Westfield Mass. We got to see his sister Rhetta, watch Syro get his final title in weight pull, and eat some yummy cupcakes in celebration. Groot came home with three BOB, a group 4 and he qualified both days in weight pull ( his first time) which also qualified him for two Total Dogs Awards. It was great seeing everyone and thank you Lucy and Jo for all your help with my weight pull questions. It was great spending time with you. ❤️

I'm late on a huge congratualtions to Northstar Oh Henrietta ( Winged Boudin × Northstars Full Moon Franny) on a fun and very successful weekend showing, pulling and doing rally. Rhetta got a group 2 in the herding group, had qualifying pulls in weightpull and got her RO1 TITLE in rally. I'm so proud of Lucy and Rhetta. Lucy really gives Rhetta the opportunity to be the versatile dog that a catahoula is!!! As you can see she also has her in herding training. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

These dogs make me so proud. They put up with me dragging them on these long road trips and work their butts off. We drove down to Louisiana for the Working Catahoula Trial and our first NASDA trial. Thank you to Renee, Janice, Toni and Roger, Dillon, Brent and Tyler and everyone else who helped put on the WCA trial. It really takes a village. Thank you to Mrs Wheat and Renee for running their dogs with Groot. Also thank you to Ady from NASDA for the great seminar and all your encouragement and amazing energy during the trial.

GROOT:
Best Male conformation
1st place 2 dog Bbay level 2 with his mamma Franny
2nd place 2 dog Bbay level 1 with Mrs Wheats Rhonda.
3rd place 2 dog Abay with Renees's Bee.
4th place level 1 tracking.
Franny:
1st place 2 dog Bbay level 2 with Groot
Tied for 3rd/ 4th in level 2 1 dog treeing with Mrs Wheats Constance.

NASDA:
Both dogs has multiple qualifying runs in Urban Locating and Trailing and Locating, with multiple high in Trials and Best of Breeds.
Franny titled in both venues at level 1. She loves hunting for her rats..❤️❤️

We finally have had some rain free days to get out and hike. The last couple of weekends the Northstar crew have been trialing. We went to Newville PA for a UKC Agility trial at Dandy Dog training where Hope and Franny picked up another leg toward their next UGRACH titles. This past Saturday Groot and I went to Frenchtown NJ for a UKC conformation trial.He was the only Catahoula, but there was a very large herding Group, and he came home with Group 3. ❤️

Yesterday I started some shed hunting training with the dogs. Quick easy finds to build confidence and help them understand the game.
Who says you can't teach and old dog new tricks....the second video is of Hope who is 12 1/2.❤️

Northstars Oh Henrietta aka Rhetta ( Northstars Full Moon Franny x Winged Boudin) earned her first weight pull title....and the following weekend scored a 97 and first place at her first Rally trial. Congratulations to Lucy and Rhetta!!! ❤️

We just got home from our trip to Alabama and our first NKC trial. What a beautiful facility and group of people. We felt very welcomed and got to meet some new faces and see some familiar faces. It was fun learning more about water races and field trials, and participating in our first bench show. I was really pleased with how both Franny and Groot worked, tracking, treeing and BBaying. They even got to do a little weight pull and lure coursing.Franny came home with a 2nd place in advanced Tracking. Groots highlight of the weekend was getting BIS in the NKC Catahoula Conformation show with 30 dogs participating. I'm very proud of them both!!!

Life has many highs and lows. My Heart is very heavy, as we had to say our final goodbye to Ben. He was a kind and happy...

Life has many highs and lows. My Heart is very heavy, as we had to say our final goodbye to Ben. He was a kind and happy soul and will never be forgotten. Even with a lot of time and work some quirks and fears could not be resolved..... I will always remember him as My Good Boy. ❤️❤️
