🐾💜🐾 VOLUNTEER HIGHLIGHT OF THE MONTH 🐾💜🐾
Cindi and canine Nola (certified handler since 2015)
❓ # 1. What did you do before becoming a volunteer with NATIONAL? I spent over 30 years in the hospitality industry, managing private clubs and hotels, while training and working with dogs on the side. In 2014, I left the hospitality industry and opened my own dog training business, Absolutely Pawsitive Canine, and have been doing that exclusively ever since.
❓ # 2. Why did you choose to train with NATIONAL? I spent years volunteering with the American Red Cross as a DAT responder, CPR & FA instructor (human and canine), and swim instructor. Giving back has always filled my soul. A Therapy Dog group I was with in Florida set up a presentation on crisis dogs, given by Connie, and it struck a chord in my heart.
❓ # 3. What is your favorite dessert? Wow, hard one since making desserts is one of my ways for stress relief, and one of my passions. Pavlova is my go to when making for myself, but hard to find when out.
❓ # 4. What is Nola's favorite activtiy when she needs to de-stress after working? Her favorite distress is quiet time with just her and me, away from all the noise and commotion of the other dogs in the house. We usually go to the lakefront, spread out a blanket, play fetch with her frisbee, and then I read while she sleeps beside me.
Thank you, Cindi and Nola, for your service. 🤩
