Eventhough we are featured as the ones who helped, it was Cleveland 19 News and Reporter Aria Janel that made this happen.
There are no resources for this kind of situation. My heart breaks for the residents. Listening to how they are living in homeless camps, hotels, overnight shelters and their cars in the parking lot of building is awful.
We are helping best we can with making sure cats are safe, warm, fed, and will get the help they need.
One of the kitties has a chest lump/mass that likely will need to be removed. Another has a tooth sideways that likely needs pulled, all 3 need neuter and vaccinations.

Due to urgency of need of help, we of course did not expect this additional cost, but also could not turn our back on this situation.

Dough Boy would love to be somebody's baby!
Fully vetted and ready for a home! He is super shiny, playful, loves everyone including other cats and ignores dogs lol. He makes biscuits non-stop!
Found trying to survive in a parking lot where older residents fed him however he clearly was a pet prior to parking lot life.
After so long of no one claiming him the buildings security officer asked for us to help find him a home.
This boy is 💯 gentle and thinks rubs and food are life!

Friends, followers, and cat lovers!
Calling on our Riggi Army 🆘️
Today was trap day training with Mario who did an amazing job.
We did catch 13 with 1 to still catch on site. One looked to be in labor and transferred to our partner A Tail of Two Kitties Rescue due to she was very young and likely will need to be monitored.
One older kitten transferred to our partner Tree City Cats after caregiver asked for help after she found it and feels it may had been a dump on her property.
Eleven (as of now) will be going to the clinic for TNR.
Upon seeing #9, we noticed a limp and ruptured eyeball. The eye socket will need to be cleaned out and eye stitched closed.
If you remember y'all sponsored the TNR packages for these guys last week 😻 however we are looking for a sponsor to cover this poor guy's eye surgery!
I believe it will be around $200 with the meds etc.
If anyone would like to contribute any amount to help this kitty he would really be grateful!
We will do his 2week medical rehab post surgery before returning to site.

Huge Thank You to CountyLine Saloon for hosting a fundraiser for us. Our own Melanie Anielski and celebrity bartender Amy kicked it out of the litter box with their ameowsing skills, they made so many biscuits and we are so thankful.

We were asked to help a woman in Akron who is a caregiver to many cats. She is very low income, lives alone and her efforts of doing TNR by herself has been challenging. She has successfully got more than half done in the last few years, but as we all know they quickly reproduce.
She is down to just 10-12 left to do and feels defeated after her trap broke and several of the females are pregnant.
She is willing to help with trapping and transport but can't do it alone and also not able to afford the TNR packages and continue to feed.
😻Mario, Hazle's owner has asked to volunteer with us. He would like to learn and give back to the community that has helped him through his difficult time ❣️He has rode around with Crystal some visiting community cats etc.
This will be his first TNR project.
We do need sponsors for this project or donations of any amount to put towards TNR packages ($50/cat).

We will also replace current nest with warm shelters and provide community cat care info.

‼️🥶TRAPPERS...
Please be aware that next week will be too cold to release a cat outdoors that has a fresh surgical site.
🔴Please plan accordingly!
If you are able to provide proper shelter/housing till next weekend then it shouldn't be an issue.

If you are able to postpone trapping till next weekend that would be a good idea.

🔶️Reminder: no cloth in shelters, only straw!
🔶️Trapped cats need to be brought in out of the weather since they can't escape to find warmth.
🔶️Open traps are to never be left unattended.
🔶️cats in the winter can easily dehydrate! Please consider ordering a plug in water bowl. Cats returning post surgery will need plenty of fresh water available.

Goat had his onesie off only 12hrs before he started over-grooming.
Friday he will see the vet for another look over. His new mom is waiting for him. Maybe he was protesting being naked?
He looks very happy after his onesie was put back on! 🤣

We have been asked by Shamrock Cultural Charities in Akron to join the parade on March 8th in downtown Akron.
Step off is noon, so line up will be likely 11am, but info will be sent to participants.

If you would like to join the Riggi colony, please send a message.
You will dress in green and feature cat likeness. Costume, ear and tail, face makeup, inflatable costume etc.

We have a lot of fun and your opportunity to be silly.

Please send a message if you are interested.
Parade is rain or shine so you will need to plan appropriately.
Kids are allowed as kittens 😸

🌈In rescue, having to say goodbye to an animal no matter if we knew them for an hour or a year is always hard!
❤️We love them as if it's our own because so many never had a family or an "owner". So for their last moments on earth, we give them a name, a kiss, and say "I love you".
We cover them with tears so Raina knows we loved them.
