At the Alberni Valley Kennel Club, under judge R Alvarez Marquez, Seatosea Across the Universe (Rufus) earned his Grand Championship and Seatosea A New Day Dawning (Tessa) received Best of Winners. Judge Marquez made us show our dogs in such a fun way and brought some showmanship to what can be a famliar pattern to an event. Seatosea Frittered Away (Fritter), handled by his fearless momma Katey, also had his day under judge Dr Woods receiving a Best of Winners. Happy with my little troop inspite a discombobulated weekend of some of the challenges (plans are made and then life happens) of attending shows.

Last year was all about the Ice Cream litter so it was nice to get back to training this spring and do some competition this summer/fall. This weekend Rory earned the final leg for a Junior Hunt title. Nice to be connecting with my dog again.

July 19 was the Sweepstakes part of 2024 Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Specialty. First was Tessa and she received a ribbon in her age & gender-I think she's going to enjoy taking her stuffy prize for a sightseeing tour of our yard. Next was Rory in Veterans and she got Best of Opposite, a nice placing after her jumbo litter last year. Lastly was Rufus receiving second in Breeder's Sweeps. At age 3 he's matured nicely and I'm pleased with his placing today. Tomorrow is part two when the judge gets to access approximately 150 Tollers. July 20 Fritter & Katey joined in and this new team had good day at the big show handling the large crowd of people and dogs and came away with a couple placings. They make a calm and confident team. July 21 another Ice Cream Litter pup, Ripley & Heather came to the show. Heather has equine creds and this team also showed with solid confidence and had lovely placings for their first venture into a new sport.

A peaceful morning walk on the beach and with the help of cousin Bert, all 3 girls came along. Must do this again!
