Toby has currently been at the Ulysses Animal Control Shelter for a month and they say they aren’t equipped for a dog of his size.

They say he is the goofiest boy and is a huge lover, everyone’s favorite. From the dog test they did, he seemed excited and wanting to play, no aggression was shown.

These 3 danes come from a breeder who passed away and now family members have had to step up to care for all his dogs, but it’s too much…. They are currently staying outside in this heat and their living conditions are poor, as the owner has no other choice, the owner is talking about putting them down. They need help NOW.

QUINN- foster needed STAT.

Quinn is an 6 year old beauty who is looking for a place to land and fast. The family she was raised with is having a family emergency which means they have to be out of their home by Monday July 1st. That means we have until Monday July 1st to find a foster family, before she ends up in the shelter.

She has some lumps and bumps as to be expected of an 6 year old dane, she is not spayed but will be if we can intake.

We are told she’s a great girl, who loves, love. Great with kids, doesn’t care about cats, gets along with other dogs, but isn’t a fan of puppies or small dogs and she will give them a little growl and retreat- She has never show any aggression. Very respectful of the leash, as their 6 year old daughter can walk her without any issues.

What started as a Craigslist listing of a “For Sale Great Dane” went on to her being dumped on a side country road up in Wisconsin.

This girl ran as a stray for over 2 weeks… she was scared of her own shadow, starving, searching for food and safety, weaving in and out of traffic, running for her life… not understanding why her family had just dumped her.

One of our directors lived in the area, so sightings in her community would report to her; after 4 consistent days of tracking, following/mapping out the areas she was last seen & working with a trapping volunteer, this sweet, tired, starving girl made her appearance late one night… long story short she is SAFE.

One of our director’s who is now fostering her named her Fiona…

𝐹𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑎, 𝑆𝑖𝑔𝑛𝑖𝑓𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑝𝑢𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑎 𝑛𝑒𝑤 𝑏𝑒𝑔𝑖𝑛𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔, 𝑟𝑎𝑑𝑖𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑝𝑜𝑡𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑎𝑙.

After being vetted she was body scored a 2/9 and a guessed age to only be 7.5 months old… she is making progress and gaining weight and is the sweetest thing, full of love and forgiveness.

Today marks one week since she has been safe and she is just perfect. Located in Wisconsin.

We have started Hagan’s vetting already and are working on another appointment. He is a healthy boy with just a bit of weight to gain. He’s growing fast!

Will fuss for 5 minutes and then is fine. He will not potty in the crate but will want to go as soon as he steps out. ✨ PRINCESS ALERT ✨
Miss Marilyn is unlike any other. A true charismatic sassy dane with bounties of love to give. She is 6.5 years old and fully vetted. Just had a negative heartworm test.. wooohoo!

Her house manners are top notch. House and crate trained. She doesn’t destroy anything if out of crate though. She knows come, sit, down, place, and loose leash walking. A very quick and eager learner she would be awesome for some dog sports. Her foster mom can see her doing agility, scent work, barn hunting and loving it!

She’s a pro at the couch sneak attack cuddle. Often crawling on your lap and then rotating to turn her gaze to look at you.

Strangers? Takes a minute to warm up to them but working on this every day. Warms up to women faster than men. Can go out in public just fine but a bit shy with people touching her back and feet. Marilyn can go to a home with kids 8+. Cats? Nope! Dogs? Maybe! Read more below.

Marilyn originally came to the rescue with a male dog named Drew. She loves Drew dearly! While she was with him she got into two -three fights with other dogs. Fast forward to today and she has completed an extensive training program with Pups for a Purpose and is now successfully integrated in their daycare program. It seems Marilyn needed to learn some manners and etiquette on how to coexist but she’s been fabulous since. If you’re local to the Omaha area the trainers will help you integrate Marilyn into your pack as well!

Most of Marilyn’s adoption is sponsored. We really want this girl to find her home. We will allow a foster to adopt home as well.

Update! Tobias has come a long way in his 3.5 months with us. Take a look at his intake pictures compared to what he looks like today. His foster family has been simply amazing in regaining his health.

He is finally at his optimal weight..he’s huge- 165lbs! We have a few remaining surgeries and health issues to resolve. His heartworms..ugh! He has been started on slow kill. He also needs neuter and cherry eye surgery VERY badly. The quote is $1,450…ahh!

We’ve been asking for a lot lately but this guy deserves the love. From chain to couch & cuddles. We are going to fundraise for his surgeries AND throw in a beautiful handmade blanket for one of his donors. $10 per entry.

Let’s all rally for Tobias! One step closer to finding his forever home after the surgeries are done. PS if you’re looking for a big boy who’s dog, cat, and kid friendly he may be your match. He’s currently in North Carolina.

Another adorable girl that will steal your heart. Tyra is one of the smartest of the bunch! Learning commands: stay, come here, let’s go. Almost fully potty trained. As long as you listen for her whimper at the door she will go outside. Learning to love her crate for feeding time and will go in there just because. However, she wants to sleep with her humans…under the covers with you! She is a great traveler in the car. She has also had her nails trimmed and ears cleaned and was totally fine.

She has met a variety of dogs and does well with them all. She’s not scared of ones that are bigger than her. LOVES kids. She’s going to make a great family dog. Multiple volunteers have interacted with her on her way to her foster home and all of them fall in love with this girl.

Kyrie is an extra sweet, sometimes shy snuggle bunny. She is totally attached to our 12 yr old daughter - that is her person. She is not crate trained and will sleep in her puppy bed but much prefers to cuddle up beside her person and will sleep all night in the big bed. She’s doing well with potty training and makes her way to the door most of the time just needs a little more practice. She is a curious girl when she is comfortable and her favorite game is fetch!

She hasn’t been exposed to cats but would likely do fine. She gets along with other doggos but sometimes that big bark is a little scary. She needs a home with somebody willing to help keep building her confidence. She is truly a super sweet girlie!

Foster needed for super senior Great Dane. Currently located at Licking County Humane Society in OHIO. 12 years old, neutered male. Has vaccines.

Gary has some old man pain and arthritis that goes along with being a 12 year old dane. Our plan is to find a committed foster who can help keep him pain free and enjoy his senior status~ basking in the sun and taking it easy. There are no surgeries to be done at his age/ status.

He is good with dogs and cats. He came in from an animal control officer seizure but the details of that are not shared with us. The shelter says Gary is a really sweet and friendly guy!

We posted Manilla the beginning of May looking for a foster as she is in the shelter in Brownsville (south Texas). We were told she was tagged by a rescue and safe… but today we found out, she is still there!😢

Manilla came in as a stray and she is estimated to be about 8 months. She is very skinny but loves all the attention she can get. She is very nervous being in the shelter but who can blame her. Regardless she has shown no reactivity to the other dogs.

Like most shelter dogs we know nothing about how she is with kids, or cats. All we know is that she is young. She is scared. And she needs out…. Like yesterday.

Update- foster found!

✧ ACE - FOSTER NEEDED✧

Location: The Colony, Texas

Senior + harlequin lovers..do we have a special boy for you! Ace is a 6.5 year old neutered male. We are reviewing his vet records but will get anything he needs updated in his foster home. Sadly, he is an adoption return due to another dog in the home repeatedly attacking him.

To be clear, Ace is not the aggressor here. He does nothing to provoke the other dog. He gets along with every other dog he has met including others that live in the house and dogs as small as 30lbs. No cats for him though! Babies/toddlers/kids…he loves them all.

Strangers? Never met one. He loves going for walks and dog friendly stores like Home Depot.

He spends most of his time cuddling but will get the occasional backyard zoomie. He can jump a fence but usually doesn’t. Ideally a 6 foot fence home. He’s house trained, crate trained, and walks well on the leash after he gets over his initial excitement. Ace knows many commands including hugs, kisses, go to your side of the bed, sit, stay, leave it, move over, stop. He will counter surf if obvious food is out. Overall, a very chill guy!

The cutest thing he does is grab pillows and blankies and move them around to get comfy. He doesn’t chew on anything including stuffies but will nibble the edges when moving them.

*He is currently at the vet. His adopters will not be bringing him or his brother home. This is urgent as vet boarding is very pricey.

Gunther has URI phnemonia that we’ve been treating at home due to lack of funds, but his temp has now gone up to 104 and that’s borderline for dogs becoming neurological. We have made the decision that he needs to be admitted to the vet for the extra support and he will need iv fluids, antibiotics and more!

She currently does not have any human foster siblings but she does get to hang out with a 3 year old granddaughter who she does great with. Being around other dogs is a no-brainer for her, she lives with two foster dog siblings and has play dates with additional dogs. She interacts and plays well with everyone and has shown no signs of resource guarding. She likes to wrestle! Cats are a mystery and her response to them has varied from scared silly to wanting to play chase.

This darling of a lady is enjoying her time in foster care. But she is ready to take on a new adventure, finding a family to call her own.

Louie has been in a foster home for YEARS. Over 3 years. His foster family can no longer keep him.

Location: Plainwell, MI
We adopt and foster nationwide (except for Massachusetts)

Louie is not a purebred dane or maybe even no dane at all so we understand why it’s taking a while to find his forever. » » » But we are calling on the SRGDRR family to help find us his home!

Louie is now a senior at 8.5 years old. Best guess is he is a hound mix. We have significantly lowered his adoption donation. He is neutered and up to date on vetting. He needs to go on a diet! ASAP!

Louie gets along with larger dogs but doesn’t care for smaller dogs. He does have a prey drive and would not do well in a home with cats- no small dogs and no cats! Though he does do well with very small humans. His foster mom says he’s a “good family dog.” He loves people.

He has wonderful manners. He is crate trained, and he can be trusted out of the crate when his people aren’t home. He has excellent leash manners. He knows basic obedience and is housetrained.
