Mission Statement

Team Rocky Enterprises Inc is a national 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of Great Danes, Great Dane mixes, and other breeds that have been abused, neglected and/or abandoned. We are also dedicated to the education of pet guardians and citizens as to the needs of domesticated animals to maintain balanced

healthy lives. We were founded in honor and memory of Rocky the Great Dane, whom we tried desperately to save in June 2013. Despite all of our efforts and offers of rehabilitation, he was irresponsibly and needlessly euthanized on June 12, 2013. Every dog that enters our rescue will be provided with the care and love that Rocky was denied. For those of you who don't know Rocky's story, please keep reading. Rocky was a 3 year old Great Dane that was owner surrendered June 1, 2013 to the Hernando County Animal Shelter in Brooksville, Florida for biting the owner's boyfriend and requested euthanization after 10 day quarantine. This same owner adopted Rocky from this same shelter in May 2010. He was brought in at that time with a female Great Dane named Emma. In May 2010, a rescue tagged Rocky and Emma for rescue, but while awaiting transport the shelter allowed Rocky and Emma to be adopted out separately thus cancelling all rescue efforts. We had rescue ready again to take Rocky after the adopter from May 2010 owner surrendered him, and he would have gone to a wonderful ranch on 7 acres that was completely fenced in. He would have been the only dog in the fenced in area and been rehabilitated to be the Great Dane he was meant to be. We offered our rescue services to the vet on site at Hernando County Animal Shelter and they refused. They refused our animal behavior specialists entrance to assess him. Unfortunately, our fight to save Rocky from euthanization by having him properly assessed, rescued and rehabilitated were ignored. Because of Rocky's untimely end, Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab was created to rescue, rehab, and re-home Great Danes, Great Dane mixes, and other giant breeds that have been abused, neglected, and/or abandoned. Additionally, our journey has led us to the education of pet gaurdians and citizens as to the needs of domesticated animals to maintain balanced, healthy lives; subsequently, this helps reduce overpopulation in shelters, especially high-kill shelters. Thank you for reading about Rocky and our organization's origin, please share and repost as much as you can. Rocky passed on June 12, 2013. ➤ ➤ ➤ FOSTER BANE ☆ Foster needed by Monday!

Location: Fayetteville, NC
Must be on east coast

Bane, 4 years old
Not neutered yet but will be in our care

This cutie was taken in temporarily by a couple who is leaving town Monday. He is such a sweet boy who is good with other dogs, cats and kids! The couple has never taken any high value toys or bones away but doesn’t suspect resource guarding with humans.

He is also house trained and knows some basic obedience. His previous owner said he was crate trained but his current owner leaves him tethered in a room and he doesn’t destroy anything. When he is alone he may cry a bit so no apartments for him for now.

🐾💛 Adopt ATHENA 💛🐾

LOCATION: Zionsville, Indiana

Meet Athena! She’s a joyful, easygoing 5-year-old Harlequin Great Dane looking for a loving, child- and cat-free home. Athena is a big girl with a heart of gold, spayed, and leash trained. She’s low maintenance and comfortable indoors, so a crate isn’t necessary.

Training & Obedience:
Athena has been excelling in her training and responds well to obedience commands. She knows how to:
• Sit
• Down
• Place
• Heel
• Respect boundaries at thresholds
• Follow a crate command (though she doesn’t need a crate!)

Athena loves her walks and enjoys wrestling or lounging with her foster dad. She’s been reactive in the past but does well with slow introductions and loves to play with other dogs once she’s comfortable.

If you think Athena would be the perfect addition to your family, please fill out an adoption application!
We adopt nationwide (except MA):

𝙺𝙴𝚈𝚅𝙰 - 𝙵𝙾𝚂𝚃𝙴𝚁 𝙾𝚁 𝙵𝙾𝚁𝙴𝚅𝙴𝚁

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Nationwide transport available
She enjoys winter and places it snows!

Keyva, 6 years old, being spayed next week

Personality: goofy velcro dog, queen of the couch! She is high energy, loving walks, and sniffing every inch of the yard hunting for squirrels (her arch enemy). She does have resource guarding with food and maybe her toy baby - to note—she was having a false pregnancy for the last few weeks.

She's fine left alone but definitely prefers as much time as possible with her human. Good with women, sometimes nervous with men. She is good with children.

Keyva needs a no other dog home at the moment. We do have a trainer working with her! She hasn’t always been dog aggressive. She does good with cats.

She respects the leash but needs does updates on her manners as she'll pull. Fully potty trained but not crate trained, she does not like small spaces. Not a chewer. Doesn’t tear up her stuffed animals either.

She will also sit directly on your feet or try to squeeze between your legs in her never ending quest to be as close as possible to you. Let us know if you’re interested in this beautiful brindle baby.

✈️⛓️‍💥HAPPY POST/ UPDATES 🇺🇸🌎

We admittedly get so busy we forget to post the happy updates sometimes. So here is a little summary for the week. We are starting this as a Saturday tradition. This is our second week. Let us know what / who you’d like to see next week!

Buster was sprung from the shelter and has been in his foster home for just two nights. He is still shaking pretty badly but he loves the resident dog and he’s coming out of his shell more and more each second. He finally got up on the couch today.

Look at this miracle! Jojo is finally learning to behave like a lady and now can be trusted around male dogs. It seems she has missed their company because now she wants to just play play play! She is looking for a new foster or adopter.

On the other side of the spectrum Storm is doing much better with female dogs! Yes..he is a male and he decided he only wanted to have male friends. A little confused by this behavior but he is finally opening up to having a sister. Big ups to his foster parents for helping him navigate. He is up for adoption!

EllieMay has arrived to her foster home in the sunshine state! This beautiful girl had a really tough past and is considered a medical case due to some of the neglect. So we are happy she is enjoying paradise. She is up for adoption!

Lucy’s skin is looking so much better! Her beautiful Pyrenees fur is coming back in. She is also loving the home with the kids.

Last call shelter dog Max is recovering from kennel cough. He has a family waiting for him up north. He is seriously the sweetest boy and loves giving paw.

Lily has not had another seizure (thank goodness!!!) Once we know we are fully in the clear she will be up for adoption. She is on new food and she is looking fantastic.

The beautiful girl aqua is settling in wonderfully. We are not sure how her previous bite happened because she is nothing but a lover. Scared..but zero fear based aggression seen.

Vegas had eyelid surgery which usually is really tricky and yields “ok” but not fantastic results. However, Vegas is looking amazing! The vet did an amazing job. He is looking for an adoptive home with no kids. A more detailed adoption post will be coming soon.

🐾Chile- Adoption Ready!🐾
Location: Dallas, TX
(We adopt nationwide, except MA)
Transport is available!

This brown eyed beauty is Chile, he’s a gentle soul with a sensitive heart. He’s on the smaller end as far as Danes go, weighing in just under 100lbs. He is a little shy when it comes to new people and pups, but once he gets to know you he’s all love and affection.

Chile possesses a truly gentle soul, preferring calm greetings and gentle interactions. You won't find him jumping and licking boisterously; instead, he'll offer head nudges and soft wags. Once comfortable, Chile becomes a loving cuddle buddy who prefers his cozy dog bed or kennel over your furniture but will always be by your side, showering you with subtle affection.

Chile’s hobbies include fetching toys, exploring the park and going for car rides. He’s eager to please and always up for an adventure. He does well with kids and loves his canine roommates, provided his boundaries are respected. No cats for him! He is housebroken, kennel trained, and leash trained.

Are you looking for a loving, playful, and loyal companion who just needs a little extra patience at first? Chile could be your perfect match! Fill out the application today and Chile will fill your home with love, laughter and lots of cuddles.

How Your Donations Help Great Danes in Need

When you support a Great Dane rescue, you’re not just making a donation—you’re giving these gentle giants a second chance at life. Every dollar you contribute has a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of the dogs we care for. Here’s how your generosity makes a difference:

1. Medical Care

- Many Great Danes arrive at our rescue in dire need of medical attention. From basic vaccinations to life-saving surgeries, your donations help us cover the cost of:

- Spaying/neutering

- Treatment for illnesses like heartworm and infections

- Surgeries for orthopedic or digestive issues, which are common in Great Danes

- Medications and ongoing treatments for chronic conditions

- For example, your $50 donation could provide a month of pain medication for a dog recovering from surgery, while $500 could cover the cost of an ultrasound to diagnose a critical health issue.

2. Nutritious Food

- Great Danes are large dogs with big appetites and providing them with high-quality food is essential for their health and well-being. Your donations ensure every dog gets the proper nutrition they need to regain their strength and thrive in their forever homes.

3. Training and Rehabilitation

Some of the dogs we rescue come from neglectful or abusive situations. These gentle giants often need extra help learning to trust humans again. Your support allows us to invest in:

- Behavioral training

- Socialization programs

- One-on-one rehabilitation with professional trainers

4. Safe and Comfortable Housing

While they wait for their forever families, Great Danes need a safe place to stay. Donations help us maintain clean, comfortable, and secure spaces for them, complete with cozy beds and plenty of room to stretch their long legs.

5. Transportation and Outreach

Whether it’s rescuing a dog from a shelter, transporting them to a foster home, or hosting adoption events, your contributions help us cover the costs of:

- Gas and vehicle maintenance

- Adoption event supplies

- Promotional efforts to find homes for our Danes

6. Emergency Rescues

When disaster strikes, time is of the essence. Your donations enable us to respond quickly to urgent situations, such as rescuing dogs from hoarding cases or shelters at risk of euthanasia.

Real Impact, Real Stories

Thanks to donors like you, we’ve been able to rescue and rehome countless Great Danes. Dogs like Gunther, who arrived severely sick and scared but is now thriving and going to a loving home.

Join Us in Saving Lives!

By donating to our rescue, you’re becoming a hero to these gentle giants. Whether it’s a one-time gift or a recurring contribution, your support makes all the difference.

Donate today and help us continue to give Great Danes the love, care, and happy lives they deserve.

𝙳𝙰𝙸𝚂𝚈 𝙰𝙽𝙳 𝙻𝙾𝙻𝙰

Location: Fayetteville, Tennessee

Two absolutely beautiful seniors were left to starve by their owner. Luckily, animal control got a report and they were seized due to the neglect. Animal control is who can make legal action happen for the cruelty here. We are here to help the danes.

Daisy is approximately 8 years old. She has skin and ear issues which need to be addressed by a vet. They are probably extremely painful!

Lola is approximately 6.5 years old. She is more malnourished than Daisy.

Both girls are not spayed. Heartworm status unknown. Super friendly and non-reactive.

They can go to separate homes. If you can foster one or both of them please let us know! We are separating in hopes to get them placed quickly and out of the shelter.

𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙚 ♡ Foster Needed
📍Katy, TX (We offer transport)

Gracie came to us as an owner surrender because her owner works long hours and is unable to give her the time she needs 😟

Gracie is crate and house trained! Loves to play with other doggos too! She still has lots of puppy energy so a yard and another dog her size would make her so happy! She does well around kids and cats. Due to her being so excited all the time, kids 12+ would be ideal because she just doesn't know her size 📏

This gorgeous girl deserves a family that wants to help her learn how to be the best girl she can be! She is so smart and eager to please!

𝙃𝙐𝘿𝙎𝙊𝙉 𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝙃𝙀𝙇𝙄𝙓 - STILL NEED A FOSTER
Looking for separate fosters 🩶
📍Texas only

These two boys have quite the story. And many lessons can be learned from what happened to them. From our RGV rescue friend:

“These Great Danes were posted a few days ago after being dumped in Brownsville, Texas. I offered to find a rescue on the original post and then got added to a group chat that included a man named Manny. Apparently, he offered to foster these dogs and was given the location by someone. After several hours I asked him if he had an update. He replied saying that his brother went to pick them up and took them to his ranch. Several more hours passed and I asked him for another update. He left the group after that question. I messaged him and wanted to see what was going on. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and just thought that he may be confused on the foster/rescue terms. I added him back to the group chat with the rescue and this morning I woke up to being blocked. He blocked me and all the rescue people on the chat. A police report was made and MANY people were calling him through finding his cell and messaging him on Facebook. He must not have liked that because later that day he dumped the dogs at a park. It is very clear he had bad intentions and didn’t want to be in the spotlight anymore”.

Now the boys are both with us. We have named them Hudson and Helix. They are in a very temporary holding situation and we need to find them foster homes ASAP.

Both boys are estimated to be 1, both males not neutered yet, dane x boxer mixes we think. Hudson has a hurt paw- not broken but something happened when he was a street dog and it’s a bit inflamed. He has seen a vet for this already. They are with a variety of other dogs (big, small, male, female) and have zero issues. They have not met a cat.

Terrified is an understatement! It’s going to take them a while of being separated and building some confidence before they are ready for adoption. No aggression just fear. Pancakes on leash.

Do you have a spot in your home to foster one of these boys? Please let us know ASAP! They are currently in Harlingen, Texas and we are looking for fosters in Texas only.

Foster Found!! 🎉

➤ ➤ ➤ FOSTER TANK ☆

Location: Spring, TX
Must be in TX, LA, OK

Tank, 1 year old pup
Not neutered yet but will be in our care

Tank is being rehomed due to having too much energy. He needs work on manners & basic obedience. Because of his wild zoomies & jumping he needs to be in a home with older kids.

Tank is crate trained & house trained but needs help with leash training. He pulls & gets very excited when he sees other dogs on walks & will try to get them. He is learning what a car is and can go for drives around the neighborhood once he settles down.

He is dog friendly but too active for a senior dog. He has never met a cat.

He is currently being fed separately because he growls if other dogs try to take his food. He doesn’t mind if his humans touch his food.

Tank is allergic to grass & his skin sometimes gets irritated & inflamed. He currently does have a small flare up on his chest.

Tank loves to be outside playing with his toys. He enjoys sunbathing & jumping on the trampoline.

Yes he sounds like a bit of a handful! But! He’s a hilarious boy with a ton of love to give.

🍂🙏 Giving of Thanks - Vetting Edition! 🙏🍂

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and we’re so excited to spend this special time with our families and furry friends! 🐾 While the holiday season is a time of gratitude, it’s also a busy one for us as we care for our beloved dogs.
Next week alone, we have 9 veterinary appointments scheduled to ensure our pups stay happy and healthy. These appointments total $1,762.50 — a big expense, but one we gladly take on for their well-being.

This week of giving thanks, we’re reaching out for a little help. Every donation, big or small, goes directly toward providing these much-needed veterinary services. Together, we can ensure all our dogs have the care they need as we head into the holiday season.

Will you join us in giving back to them during this time of giving thanks? ❤️

To help show our thankfuless, we love to offer drawings to our Friday vetting fundraisers. This Friday's will be a chance to win this life size snowman! 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 $𝟏𝟓 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝, 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐥𝐥 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐚 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐧!

Petie is great with dogs of all sizes, house and crate trained, and full of love and playfulness.

Location: Collin County, Texas

Hi there, I’m Mauve (1148938), a 4-year-old spayed female Great Dane with a heart as big as my paws! The rescue thinks I’m a bit younger than 4 though. I’m a super sweet, gentle, and happy girl who’s ready for my second chance at love. I adore being close to my people—it’s my favorite place to be! I came in with a Great Pyrenees and I’m not reactive to other dogs in the kennels. I know SIT, walk beautifully on a leash, and love affection. Whether we’re out for a stroll or just hanging out together, I’ll be your loyal, loving companion. Could I be the missing piece to your family? 🐾💜

Many of you may remember Gunny, the sweet Dane we rescued from the Dallas Shelter back in June. When he first arrived at his foster home, his situation was dire—he had a dangerously high temperature of 106, and we knew something was seriously wrong. The odds of him making it through that first night were slim, but we refused to give up on him.

Thanks to the unwavering dedication of his foster dad and the generous support of our Save Rocky family, Gunny managed to pull through. He battled a severe case of URI pneumonia, facing hospitalization five times in just one week. But with incredible care and sheer determination, he made a full recovery.

Today, Gunny is the happiest, goofiest boy you could imagine. We are thrilled to share that he has been adopted and will spend his days soaking up the sun near the coast in Southern Texas with his forever family.

Stories like Gunny’s are only possible because of your support. If you’d like to help more dogs like Gunny find their second chance at life, please consider donating or fostering. Together, we can make miracles happen. 💙🐾

Our Story

MISSION STATEMENT FOR SRGDRR

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment. To provide medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program. To provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring new home that will ensure a quality of life each Dane has deserved from the day it was born. We have been rescuing Great Danes nationwide since 2013 and we take pride in the collective love, concern and dedication for the misunderstood and forgotten Danes here. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes, and to provide them safety, protection and their birthright of a quality of life with love and dignity. To fund raise for Great Dane rescue efforts. To assist needy owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering, or heartworm treatment as funds allow. Also by educating them on affordable local spay neuter clinics local to them. To educate the public with information on topics such as spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, obedience and nutrition. To sponsor walks and events to raise awareness of rescue needs and the plight of SRGDRR Great Danes. To be a link point to other rescues and clubs nationwide. SRGDRR was founded in honor and memory of Rocky the Great Dane, whom we tried desperately to save in June 2013. Despite all of our efforts and offers of rehabilitation, he was irresponsibly and needlessly euthanized on June 12, 2013. Every sweet dog that enters our rescue will be provided with the care and love that Rocky was denied. Every dog we save will be in his memory and honor. For those of you who don't know Rocky's story........please keep reading...............Rocky is a 3 year old Great Dane that was owner surrendered June 1, 2013 to the Hernando County Animal Shelter in Brooksville, Florida for biting the owner's boyfriend and requested euthanization after 10 day quarantine. This same owner adopted Rocky from this same shelter in May 2012. He was brought in at that time with a female Dane named Emma. In May 2012 rescue tagged Rocky and Emma for rescue but while awaiting transport the shelter allowed Rocky and Emma to be adopted out separately thus cancelling all rescue efforts. We have rescue again ready to take Rocky and he would be going to a wonderful ranch on 7 acres that is completely fenced in. He would be the only dog in the fenced in area and he would be rehabilitated to be the Great Dane he was meant to be. We have offered our rescue services to the Vet on site at Hernando County Animal Shelter and they have refused. They have refused our animal behavior specialists entrance to assess him. Please help us fight to save Rocky from euthanization by having him properly assessed and rescued and rehabilitated. Rocky has gained media attention with his story and we pray for a happy ending for this big boy! Thank you and please share and repost as much as you can. Rocky's time is up on June 9, 2013.
