Inky discovered he could reach the tissues in the box next to my bed! It's now been moved up and out of his reach 😂
In this video you'll see Inky using a pawpad, and then practising his loose leash walking 😎
The pawpad is used as an introduction to puppy to mark a raised curb or a step in the future, it also serves to teach pup the working position on his handler's left, staying parallel rather than turning his body to face me. He gets a treat for holding the position with the marker word "nice".
Loose leash walking training begins before pup even wears a leash, by rewarding him for walking on my left. We'll practice this around the house and garden before moving to the street and shops and so on. 😁
He's a very smart pickle.
#GuideDogPuppy Inky's #Recall training is coming along really nicely 😎
It's important that an #AssistanceDog come right up to their person's knee when called, so that a visually impaired or handicapped person doesn't have to reach for, or look for the dog.

Inky's lunch was served in a #SnuffleMat today 😁
Meal enrichment while wearing his puppy jacket helps him associate fun and food with his jacket, and the brain game teaches him impulse control and patience, as well as encouraging him to work for a reward. 😎
Patrick and little Inky have this wrestling match every morning - and not outside! It has to be inside! 😂
Patrick's weekly #hydrotherapy is up to 13 minutes 😄 His weight is on target, hes swimming for fitness now and I love how he uses all four legs 🥰
Guide Dog Puppy Inky loves playing with an empty stainless steel bowl 😜
Thanks to my mommy darling for the video 😁
Meal enrichment for little Inky, our new #GuideDogPuppy! He's learning to wear his puppy jacket so associating it with food is a good thing for him. 🥰😎

Little Inky already understands DROP IT! The power of praise and treats is not to be underestimated 😁
He's a very smart little South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind puppy 😎
The little i-litter boy loves carrying empty bowls around 💛

Solo is having a lovely time at his sister Sasha's house!
This weekend he went to 54 on Bath Hotel for high tea, watched some padel and some rugby, and today he went to Starlight Classics!
He's not going to want to come home! 😜
Solo and I visited a very busy Mall of Africa last Saturday, and Solo maintained a perfect loose leash, without trying to greet or sniff all the people walking around and past us.

Out shopping with Solo, and part of his obedience training is to hold a cue until given the next one, even if I go out of sight.
I make sure I know where he is, and I don't do this in a busy shop - I don't want him walking off with someone who may think he's lost. 😜
He held his DOWN STAY for well over 2 minutes for this video, and close to 5 minutes in an earlier session where I was just walking up and down the same aisle - not going out of sight 😎

Forgive the shaky filming, it's hard to train Solo and film with a cellphone at the same time 😅
Car Manners
• The pup doesn't leap into or out of the car unless told to do so (with or without a collar)
• The pup waits calmly while the boot is opened and closed (and groceries packed or unpacked, for example)
• The pup stays where he's put - whether its the backseat or the front or back footwell.
