Rathmore, Avesta Bloodstock & partners bred EXPRESS YO’SELF (by Yulong Investments Alabama Express x Taghrooda) runs 3rd on debut in 2yo LR Merson Cooper Stks carrying the Rathmore brand. Congrats to trainers Ash & Amy Yargi and all connections inc. Richard Sims & Manoj Wanzare on having what looks like a very promising filly. Sold at Inglis 2022 weanling sale for $85k when all good judges were on her. Blue Point 1/2 sis en route to Magic Millions Adelaide yearling sale and she also has ‘2yo rocket’ written all over her. (Special shout out to Jimmy and Ross who also have the dam of the 4th placed filly Hand Crafted (x Artisanale))

This sassy filly by Darley stallion Palace Pier is a cracker. Loves feed time! Out of the beautiful Sienna Lady (Lope de Vega) and very closely related to HK superstar California Spangle. Mare was a Inglis Chairman’s Sale purchase this year with Johnny Mcconnell & Avesta Bloodstock.

Very first steps last night at Rathmore for our absolutely stunning filly by Coolmore Australia stallion ST MARK’S BASILICA x Arizona Girl (High Chaparral). The mare was a Magic Millions purchase with partners Avesta Bloodstock & Johnny Mcconnell in May. It was a ‘come full circle’ kind of feeling when foaling this filly as the stallion was born at Norelands Stud where I used to foal mares back home many years ago.

Congratulations to Jerome Hunter & Graebar Park on the maiden victory today at Sandown with Black Zous! A successful pinhook for us from our inaugural Rathmore draft of 2020 Magic Millions Adelaide. He was our first $100k sale result! Hopefully plenty more wins in store for him!

In a year where it’s apparently been challenging to get broodmares pregnant… Rathmore sent 8 of our resident mares across from SA to Hollylodge Thoroughbreds in VIC this season and they achieved 100% in-foal, off only 9 stallions serves (Brazen Beau, Extreme Warrior, Tagaloa, Alabama Express, Nicconi, Doubtland & Dirty Work x2). Simply outstanding work by the brilliant Dr Katie Wilcox and the very sexy Daniel Nevill who also returned all mares and foals home in phenomenal condition 🍻
