Here’s the truth: Ingredients are listed by *initial weight*, not the final product. Meats like chicken may appear first, but they’re packed with water—up to 70%! Once processed and dried, the real protein content shrinks dramatically.

📉 Imagine this: A kibble bag claims "Chicken" as the first ingredient. Sounds great, right? But after drying, most of that weight disappears, leaving only a small percentage of actual chicken. Meanwhile, those dry ingredients (like corn meal) stay heavy and dominate the kibble.

Translation? That "Chicken" kibble might actually be "Corn Meal" kibble. 🫣
