Paws Xpress ...loves and cares...not just dogs and cats...other special "paws" as well!
Being moved/inspired to the right time and place, I spotted this precious little one. It appeared confused, lost...out of place. It was meandering outside my client's backyard gate. I had, previously, known there were two living/nesting outside their back fence, On their dune. This one was stuck, going around circles. Poor little one. I took pictures, sent them to the owner. He agreed, asking if I could pick it up and put it back on the dune. If course I can!, Being the country girl I am and avid animal lover! I was able to carefully pick it, carry it back to the dune. I watched it happily crawl into the bushes! Yaaay!!!😁 💓

I used to participate, enjoy a nice fireworks display, the bigger the better....BUT, through the 12 years of experience, working Paws Xpress, hired to care for precious fur babies...I learned, compassion, caring and comforting terribly petrified pets, animals. NO pet owners/animal lovers do NOT understand or care! It still gets the upper important recognition...over the cruelty that causes animals this fear. I witnessed poor wild rabbits scared to death, scampering to get away/ find a safe quiet place to hide! There are other ways to celebrate...yet the loud fireworks are a BIG money maker for some. Maybe more people need to be forced to experience their fear, get same treatment to understand. I had to hold/ comfort poor horrified Bella, my Yorkie client for about two hours...shaking to death, under a pillow and my sweater -caving/snuggling her into me!

Paws Xpress has always been proud of my "word of mouth" reputation, taking pets' needs seriously. If I'm available, I manage to take on the job, giving my best, with the services I offer. If it's not something I can do, I take time, reach out to other resources/professionals who can help the owners with their pets' needs. Yes, there are times when a pet owner may think differently, it is their choice on how they handle/treat their pet. If there's something wrong, beyond my specific services and requirements, I show and state specifics beyond what was agreed to.

Paws Xpress is very pleased with still being available for working, elderly and disabled pet owners. Emergencies do happen. Was very proud to be available for a very urgent transport to the Gainesville Animal Hospital on December 26, right after Christmas. A young dog, Astor, was at the Emergency Clinic, in Holly Hill, diagnosed with possible cancer (also dealing with past seizures and other issues). They told the owner Gainesville Animal Hospital would be the best place for his needs...referred him to me for transport. With being known as a professional, taking special needs seriously, Vets and Groomers, in the surrounding areas, know I will be there-if available, get the job done! I was so glad I was able to drive the both of them over to Gainesville as quickly as possible.

Addressing another very sad situation, but Missy is recovering, getting better, with each checkup. Labor Day, Missy, a 12 yr. old Dachsund, and her "Dad", was visiting with a neighbor. For some unknown reason, they don't know why, the neighbor's dog (in the yard) didn't like the idea. The dog charged, on a determined mission, deliberately managed to get under their gate, out the yard and attacked Missy. In shock, her "Dad" fought to get them apart. Missy has several deep punctured wounds on the top and bottom of her neck. Since no one was open on Labor Day, they had to comfort and care for Missy the best they could. Both Tommy doesn't drive, and his wife is blind. Tomoka Pine Hospital knows, if Paws Xpress is available, I will be there, gave Tommy my number. It was meant to be, being available that next morning, I rushed Tommy and Missy to the Vet. Missy had to have two tubes put in her neck, fluid building up in her neck, infection was a big concern. Tommy had to go to ER, accidently bitten by Missy, trying to get the dogs apart. He had to have a finger stitched back together. Missy, a beautiful brendel-color, proved she's a tough girl, is bouncing back pretty well, eating and drinking the next day. She had the tubes taken out today...but, the open wound holes are still draining quite a bit. She will be seen again Monday, hoping and praying her and Tommy continue to have good quick recoveries, but thinking it's going to take Tommy longer, having to deal with therapy for his finger. PLEASE, ALL Pet Owners, please, even though you may think you have a "good" safe fence, do NOT underestimate your pet! They do think, reason things out, if they are determined enough. I had a previous experience, about 5 months ago, two new young dogs got out of their owners fence. She didn't realize how bad it was. I had to go hunt them down, scared of them being hit out on the road. VERY THANKFUL, I was able to find them in time, get them in my vehicle! Please, always check your fences, gates, know what other animals are around...I am THANKFUL, blessed, to be available, given this opportunity to help this couple. Another wonderful connection!

Paws Xpress is still active, proud and sad, shared a VERY SAD EMOTIONAL morning with Victor and his very much loved T-Boy, who was allowed to cross the Rainbow Bridge this morning. This is one of the emotional services Paws Xpress does. Victor was referred to me from his Vet, after fighting with himself for several days. T-Boy, 15 yrs. old, had stopped eating for a week. Victor, wheelchair-bound, couldn't wait any longer, what pet owners face. I worked with him diligently for a couple days, trying to find the right Vet office (he could afford) who would take him as soon as possible. I found a VERY understanding Vet in Deltona.
It was time. I'm very glad I've held onto special transport carriers, donated to me...for situations like this! We agreed, T-Boy was transported with a special pillow he and T-Boy slept on, will be cremated with. I am very glad I was able to help Victor, be available, tend to his needs and care for T-Boy.
He meowed/howled a few times during the ride. It was when I took him out of the carrier, placing him on the table for the Tech...he just layed flat out! Didn't move! I thought, "Oh my gosh!!" The Tech handled him carefully, so gently...I believe THIS was T-Boy knowing/accepting what was going to happen. He was ready 😔😢 I made a point of taking/having loving pictures taken, holding him, loving him. I also had Victor on my phone the whole process, absolutely, he wanted to know the second T-Boy went. I tried hard to fight back tears, knowing it was HIS sign of OK. He didn't move at all through the whole process, to the end...A VERY TENDER EMOTIONAL PART OF WHAT Paws Xpress, myself, does...for the sad unable/disabled pet owners....knowing, feeling, witnessing the pain/loss...consoling, comforting...THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, Cohen Veterinary Center!! Sooo grateful to you! You are in MY book of keepers!

I have a 94-yr. old lady client who needs peaceful resolution with her cat problem. She fell, has a fractured leg, in Rehab Center for unknown time. She has ONE Siamese, actually her own, stays inside. BUT, she took it upon herself to start feeding three other stray/feral cats from around the neighborhood. I've been going over practically every day twice, feeding/caring for her Siamese and these other cats. BUT, I have other business jobs to attend to.
I am putting out this message, showing pictures of these "stray/feral" cats, hoping someone out there can and will be able to find the right forever home for them...thinking they will be abandoned....
I will list as the names she gave them...
1. Momma Kitty...is a mature, VERY LOVEABLE, YEARNS FOR ATTENTION, possible Main C**n or Ragdoll, a fluffy orange and white...Age unknown.
2. Pretty Girl...is possibly a tortoise, one ear is clipped, so I believe she is fixed. Possibly 2 yrs. old ?? She is shy, skiddish, but knowing, with time and patience, she can/could be tamed...
She's had to compete with Momma Kitty being an Alpha.
3. There is a good size large Tomcat, she calls Prince, but he is VERY INDEPENDENT, been on his own for so long, unknown if he would take to anyone, settle down.
Again, it is UNKNOWN how long she's going to be in Rehab, looking at having to rehome her Siamese...BUT, I am trying to lighten her load/worries on anyone being able to help with these other cats.
I am NOT on here every day, too busy out in the field, call 386-316-2322...if there's anyone who's been looking for one of these types of cats.

Memories...going through old albums...precious Fussy, my gorgeous chinchilla-colored rescue bunny (from Robin Lovejoy's rescue...a horrible story)...a perfect unique Vitas Hospice PawPal special moment in time. She loved to be held, like a ragdoll, sooo gentle and sweet. It was a tremendous joy, taking her to the elderly homes...Sarah House, letting the residents hold her. They thought they were holding a cat (not seeing well), until the staff told them they were holding a bunny!! Oh, to watch their eyes light up!!! BIG smiles ..SADLY SHORT-LIVED, just 3 short years, sigh, her health failed, it was her time to go...GREATLY MISSED, to make room for special PRECIOUS Cream Puff...

It has been a while since I've posted, being VERY HAPPY business IS picking up, filling up calendar AGAIN!! Pet owners are FINALLY feeling better and comfortable with getting out, taking trips again! One of my wonderful ladyfriend/client, Candy Price, sent me this adorable precious memory moment, October 2015, when she first brought Baby Lilly home, meeting her "identical" tortoise companion, Lila....needless to say, Miss Lila was NOT impressed (Mother/daughter...NOT! LOL)...to this day, caring for them, they still each hold their own opinion of each other!
