At Mostly Muttz Rescue, it is our passion to save dogs with life-long special needs and acute medical needs as well as healthy, more easily adoptable dogs. We believe that every dog, regardless of health, deserves a fighting chance to live, to love and to be loved for the duration of their lives.
We can’t believe Penn hasn’t been scooped up yet! This adorable girl is a happy, high-spirited playful puppy with a touch of sass. Penn has beautiful green eyes and likes to talk to her foster mom when it's time to play. She is curious, loves exploring the yard, and playing with her toys.
Penn is crate trained, almost potty trained, and is starting to learn basic commands. 🤍🐾

Gunner is the perfect combination of submission and determination. He has a wonderful temperament! Gunner is gonna wag his tail and wiggle his butt until you love him!
Gunner is looking for that special someone to play with then cuddle up with. He is great in his crate and sleeps though the night. Gunner is working very hard on his manners and is certain he's mastered sit, even if it is only for a few seconds.

There is still time to be a part of our 2025 calendar! The calendar is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. Any Mostly Muttz Rescue alumni are welcome to participate. There are dates available in October for photo sessions. The cost is $75 to reserve your spot, then a $100 donation to the rescue on the day of your photo shoot. Later this fall we will hold a contest to see which dog wins the cover of the calendar. Your friends and family can cast their votes for $1 per vote. Zoomie 🤍🐾
This handsome boy arrived in Pa at the end of May in need of some TLC, confidence building and time to get used to indoor life. He has been making wonderful progress and is showing us he’s not the same boy that arrived three months ago.
Zoomie LOVES walks more than anything else! He comes to life when he can be outside, enjoying a good roll in the grass, satisfying his nose or just exploring the neighborhood. This boy is smart and treat motivated.
Zoomie is people shy at first, but with time and patience, he comes around. And we’ve already told you the key to his 💛 (walks!). He walks very, very nicely on a leash and looks to his person for comfort when unsure. He has adjusted nicely to his fosters routine with a little help from the other dogs he is in foster with. Other dogs are comforting to him and he does look to them for confidence. He loves to play with other dogs and is doing well with dogs of all sizes and ages. However, we also believe he would be okay as an only dog with the right adopter(s). He is a great boy once he knows he is safe and loved. Zoomie loves to run and play but is also just as content to lay by your feet and rest. Once you've won him over, he soaks up the affection and hands out plenty of tiny kisses. An adopter who takes the time he'll need to adjust, will have a dedicated boy for life.
Zoomie is a littermate to the previously adopted Zoey, Zara and Zaz. Zoomie is being fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania.

Penny found her way to us in 2021 along with her puppy, Lincoln. She’s been searching for her furever for three years now, but we haven’t given up hope - it’s just taking a bit longer than we thought it would for someone to see how amazing she is ♥️
⭐️ Penny is part of our 2024 Clear the Shelters campaign and her adoption fee is waived through 9/10/2024
Penny is an intelligent girl. She has proven to be an exceptional snuggler and she is definitely eager to please. She does have energy to burn and would love an active family and another dog in the home who will welcome her exuberance and love of play. (It is not a requirement to have another dog in the home)
She does pull a bit on leash, but has been working diligently on that and has made improvements.

If you’re looking for a girl who is going to make you her entire world and absolutely adore you with every inch of her heart… you’ve found her…
Fancy is a beautiful hound / lab mix with just the softest coat of fur. She’s loyal, she’s grateful, she just wants to be loved and feel safe.
She’s had a rough start in life - coming from a severe hoarding situation that we unfortunately dont know a lot about. Other dogs that we rescued from the same hoarding situation (who have since found their families) were seemingly not as impacted by their past as this beauty was. Please don’t stop reading here. It may be part of her story, but doesn’t define her.
Fancy is a huge couch potato - they don’t get much more “couch potato” than this girl. She is also a HUGE snuggler and wants to be as close as possible to her human. Resting her head on yours, in the crook of your neck, or draped over you are just her most favorite places to be.
She doesn’t ask for much and prefers to be a homebody - thoroughly enjoying the comforts of the indoor life rather than being the adventurous type. She LOVES meal time and thrives with a routine she can anticipate. She loves to go belly up and thoroughly enjoys every belly rub she can get her paws on ♥️ She says “additional points if her adopter is home often”
Due to her past, she does become anxious in new outdoor environments. So, she’d really prefer not to be a world traveler. It will likely take her a few weeks to settle into a new routine - so patience and time at first will be important. In foster, she is working on socialization and commands that she can use in public in an effort to ease her worries and focus on her human instead. Because she loves her person with her entire soul, she trusts their decisions with her whole heart and is making nice progress every time she is pushed outside the box.
Fancy is extremely submissive and does wonderfully with other dogs. Having another dog in the home would be a huge plus for her, but we also know that just having her human, would be more than enough to make her happy too.
Fancy is potty trained and crate trained, though she really doesn’t need to be crated. She is not destructive at all. Ideally, it would be great if she could land a home with a fenced in yard - not because she is an escape artist, but because it will be more comforting to her to feel secure outdoors in her new home.
This girl deserves to be able to settle down for one last time, into a home with an understanding adopter who will love her for exactly who she is and make her life whole.

Nubby (first known to our rescue as Domino) is hoping to finally settle down with a furever family.
⭐️ His adoption fee is currently waived through 9/10 for the 2024 Clear the Shelters campaign.
Nubby was surrendered back to our care after his home caught fire, and family’s housing situation changed.
Nubby likes to be low-key. He is the perfect companion for someone looking for a dog that will snuggle with them on the sofa as he is an expert.
Nubby would love a quiet, laid back home (respectful or older children, no hyperactive dogs). A home that has a large fenced-in yard would be ideal, although not a must-have for this boy.
Nubby is overall very low maintenance as long as his furever home is quiet. He is a very social dog and loves being around people. One of Nubby's cutest features is his nubby tail he wags every time he sees someone. He loves car rides and is happy to go wherever his new family would take him.

Samuel’s Foster Momma can't say enough great things about this cute little guy! He weighs in at 41.6 pounds, rides great in vehicles, walks very well on leash and is just a charming soul to be around. Samuel loves other dogs and felines. He's even met goats but he's not sure what to make of them yet. He is house trained as well as crate trained. If you're looking for a super cuddly companion, he's your boy!

Welcome to Mostly Muttz Rescue, Johnny! 🤍
Johnny is a little bundle of love and affection, always choosing to be close to his person. This little boy comes to us from the Carolina's where he and his brother, Jones, were rescued from underneath a shed. Unfortunately it was just the two of them - so we really have no idea about the parents.
Johnny's mostly white with brown spotted coat and green eyes is truly unique. He has a petite build with long legs at only 15lbs - our best guess is that as an adult he will likely be medium-sized. He is doing very well with crate training and is quiet while crated, sleeping through the night. Potty training is a work in progress as is learning all about leashed walks. He is an observant little boy and seems to catch on quickly to routines.
Johnny is being fostered in Exeter Township (Berks County), Pennsylvania. He will be available to be adopted on or after 8/24/2024

Welcome to Mostly Muttz Rescue, Jones! 🤍
Jones just arrived to his PA foster home and has wasted no time becoming the best of friends with the pack. No doubt his sweet disposition will make him a breeze to integrate into any home. Pictures do not do him justice - he is stunning in person! As you can see in his photos he always has one ear on alert to make sure he doesn't miss anything fun or important.
After a round of play he enjoys a quiet nap at your feet or in the crate, which he seeks on his own when he's ready for quiet time. He seems quite treat motivated and is hard at work on basic commands already. He will require patience as he gets the hang of housetraining, as all puppies do. So far he has not shown interest in chewing anything he's not supposed to but he will occasionally bring you one of your flip flops, in case you wanted to get ready to take him on a short adventure!
Jones will be able to head to his furever home on or after 8/24/2024. He is fostered in Chester Springs (Chester County), Pennsylvania.
