Run another showjumping competition they said… 🫣🫠💀

It is with great regret that our organising committee have had to make the hard decision to call off the One Day Wonder Showjumping competition, our final competition for 2025.

The current forecast for tomorrow (November 1st) indicates we could expect severe thunderstorms, damaging winds, large hail and heavy rain ⚡️🌩️🧊

Given the significant impact of similar recent storms in the area, we are keen to prioritise safety. Although disappointed that we won’t have a final showjumping competition for riders, we don’t want to risk any horse, competitor or supporters if the storms hit as predicted. Refunds for riders will be processed through Nominate as soon as possible.

A huge thank you to the key organisers of our showjumping event, Caiti, Sarah and Rob for all their efforts (again) to try and bring us a final event this year. Likewise a massive thank you to our event and prize sponsors for this event 🙏

Take care out there this weekend.

The Fuel Asset Finance One Day Wonder Showjumping event held this Saturday November 1st is currently going ahead.

Thank you for your patience waiting for the draw, some of our event organisers have been without power and communications following the storm on Sunday. The link to jump in and Sign Up for volunteering jobs is located in the comments below. Many hands make light work and we can’t make these days happen without you 🙏

Some of you may have seen additional storm warnings forecast for this Saturday, be assured we too are watching these closely and will make a final decision on our event and update you on Friday morning.

Hold one more competition they said 🤣🤣

The Fig Tree Pocket Equestrian Club Committee wishes to advise that our grounds and facilities are CLOSED until this Thursday 30th October due to storm damage sustained Sunday afternoon. This is to help us facilitate clean up in advance of this weekends showjumping competition.

We hope our members and friends in surrounding areas have remained safe and not sustained too much damage. Please be patient with our committee responding to any enquiries as at least a few of them are currently without power and comms. We look forward to getting things tidied up and shall provide another update to you all soon.

💎 Final Dressage Day of 2025 💎

It was a warm and dry end to our 2025 Dressage season at but that didn’t deter anyone from having an exceptional day ☀️ Congratulations to all competitors for your kind riding and camaraderie. It’s great to see so many happy horses and smiling riders 🥰

Despite another huge year at our tireless volunteer army never seem to miss a beat. Thank you to Emma for your many hours of surface preparation and to Jess and the whole O’Brien clan for your record arena set up time 💨 to the agistees who work all week to prepare the grounds, there are a thousand jobs happening behind the scenes - thank you.

To our exceptional judges today - Felicity, Kaz, Belinda, Maria, Lyn, Jen, Alice and Sarah for your passion and commitment 🙌 and a BIG thank you to all the members and competitors that jumped in to pencil - Kaitlin, Laura, Elese, Lilly, Jen, Molly, Michael, Di, Belinda, Chrissie, Kate and Pauline 🫶

To Kerry, our incredible steward who keeps all the wheels turning. Your mints and liquorice for the horses and your words of encouragement for the riders for a huge non-stop 8 hours have become legendary 🙏 thank you!

And lastly, to Alyssa, Heidi, Kate, Eloise and Molly who stuck around to pack down and make sure the arena is ready to go for the weeks lessons and clinics, it’s a hot job at the end of a long day - thank you 🫡

Finally, we say goodbye and wish all the best of luck to Brittany from Blue Ribbon Photography, who so beautifully captured our Dressage competitions, following her move to Western Australia. With big shoes to fill, we’re thrilled Marzana from was able to attend today and capture those magic moments. The album will be available later in the week - stay tuned 😍

Enjoy your summer break or summer training (or a bit of both) and we’ll see you back between the white boards in 2026! Happy Riding ❤️

The FTPEC Organising Committee woke up grateful today after the successful completion of the QOTT CCI-S, their final ODE for 2025 last weekend. There were more than a few eyes on the BOM radar when the weather turned slightly shaky on Saturday afternoon but luck prevailed and the weather gods held up their end of the bargain.

The cross country course has received a whole lot of positive feedback from riders and spectators alike. A huge thankyou to course builders Ewan Kellett and Greg Auer for putting in the hard yards to create something with new jumps, tracks and questions for our horses and riders alike. Another huge thank you goes out to Samford Valley Garden Centre for providing the plants used out on course, making things look incredible and likewise to ongoing club sponsor Damien Lacey Plumbing and Maintenance for providing our course builders with use of his ute for preparations and during the competition.

The cross country course is now open to club members and for bookings. All bookings are via Nominate.com.au 👩‍💻

FTPEC would like to thank for their generous event sponsorship which included a special prize pool (of $2400) to spread between the highest placed OTT horses in each class. With no off the track horses competing in either the 3 or 2 star classes, prize money for the highest placed OTT escalated to an EPIC $350 💸💸

Learn more information about all of the QOTT initiatives at the Racing Queensland website.

The FTPEC Organising Committee would also like to thank all the sponsors, the officials and our event photographers but most of all, the hard working VOLUNTEERS who help prepare the beautiful grounds, who jump judge, the baristas keeping us caffeinated, canteen attendants keeping us fed and watered, the pencillers and the marshals keeping us running on time, to name but a few. There are so many hands that go into making an event happen and ultimately we wouldn’t get a single horse out on course without you all.
