🌳 Fig Tree Pocket July Dressage Day 🌳
Another beautiful day of Dressage at FTPEC made possible thanks to an army of people. Firstly, competitions simply do not run without a long list of volunteers. A big thank you to our Friday jump pack down/ arena grading and set up crew in Anthony, Charnel, Molly, Luke, Justine, Lizzie, Emma and the Sing family 🙏 to our amazing Protocol Judge Emma Flegman for getting our members in shape on Saturday and to Karen for grading the arena again Saturday night. To our pencillers: Laura, Vic, Caiti, Angela, Caitlin, Emma, Alyssa, Mark, Kathy, Veronica, Kaitlin, Jaimee Lee, Rachel, Katie, Anita and Belinda for your tireless efforts ✏️ and our pack down crew in Katie, Viv, Emma and Laura.

A special shout out to Katie Heading for all the behind the scenes juggling from 6.30am to 4.30pm 🤩

There are many more that help with a thousand other tasks leading up to and on the day - thank you 🙏

To our 9 passionate judges: Belinda, Nic, Jen, Kay, Alice, Sarah, Jenny, Renee and Tara. Thank you for taking the time away from your own families and horses to share your knowledge ❤️

To the friendliest person we could ever hope for as a Steward, thank you Kerry (and Lola!) for running a tight ship and still keeping the atmosphere very relaxed and horse friendly 🐴

And finally, a big thank you to all our competitors for your ongoing support of FTPEC. It’s always humbling to see our events fill far in advance of close of entries. The camaraderie, encouragement and friendly (albeit still competitive!) spirit you bring to these events make them a joy to run - thank you 🥰

While the event may be over, one of the best parts will come later this week when the amazing Brittany from will have the album live 🥳

Did you miss me…. ?
The Eventers Gazette is baaaccck …. and excited to report that Fig Tree Pocket Equestrian Club have announced (thanks to generous sponsorship from ) that there will be an EXTRA cash prize pool of $2400 just for Off the Track competitors at the upcoming CCI on September 20 & 21.

If you are an eventer with a promising off the track thoroughbred or standardbred (at any level) this is THE EVENT for you!! Highest placed off the track horse and rider in each class stands to receive an extra $240 prize money in addition to their other winnings. With only just over 8 weeks until our course closure… there’s no time like the present to get out on course schooling. Cross country bookings at FTPEC are via Nominate.com.au

Looking for equestrian gear at unbeatable prices? Come down to Fig Tree Pocket Equestrian Club Saturday morning on the 5th July for our Car Boot Sale, in conjunction with our dressage protocol day!

Whether you’re after second-hand tack, apparel, boots, or rugs, this is a great opportunity to grab a bargain. Alternatively, if your tack room, floats and maybe house (let’s be honest now 🫣) are bursting at the seams with no longer used gear, sign up for a spot to reduce your collection. Sellers, please email through to register and then get to work labelling prices on your gear and come equipped with cash on the day.

This is also a chance to meet up with fellow FTPEC members or for those who have been contemplating a membership, come on down to say hello and check out our beautiful grounds!

At the .com.au CCN ODE a few weeks ago we asked our Cross Country riders to and help us raise awareness and funds for

Dolly’s Dream was created by Kate and Tick Everett following the shattering loss of their 14-year-old daughter, Dolly, to su***de, after ongoing bullying. Kate and Tick’s goal is to prevent other families walking this road.

Fig Tree Pocket Equestrian Club are proud to help raise awareness and to be kind, online, offline and always. With a sea of blue competitors through the start box and a sell out at our sausage sizzle, we’re incredibly grateful to everybody for helping us raise $550 for the cause.

Likewise big thank you to those who embraced going blue for our Cross Country phase. Our secret spotters picked three clear winners for best dressed on the day and these included Ashley Lowe on Jackpot Jimmy, Kelsey Warner on Rateakee Gold n Mist and Morgan Lyall on Morganvale En Vogue. Thank you girls - there is a Dolly’s Dream merchandise gift card headed your way 🦋🦋

Only 6 mins off Centenary Motorway, yet in the heart of Brisbane, it’s a great spot for spectators and riders alike.

An exhausted and thankful FTPEC Committee and OC are grateful for the conditions swinging in our favour. The weather gods kept us guessing for a moment there, but WE MADE IT!

Thank you to all the riders, officials, judges, sponsors, photographers and our hardworking volunteers. It takes an army to run any event and the www.globetrotting.com.au CCN ODE was no exception. Congratulations to our winners for each class and special thanks to Horseland Ipswich for providing the beautiful custom winners rugs. Many riders regardless of their results were just elated to get out there for a run. A huge thankyou to our course designers Ewan Kellett and Greg Auer and TD’s Paula Barlow and Dave Duffy for bringing us a course to do just that.

The FTPEC Cross Country course will now be CLOSED to ALL RIDERS for maintenance this week. It will re-open to members and for bookings from Saturday May 24. The FTPEC arena will be available to MEMBERS ONLY this week while we perform some rehab on our grounds, particularly the parking area and yards. Members are to check the members group for further information.
