Meet Sammy. ❤️

This sweet Havanese female is looking for a new forever home. Unfortunately, her former owner was no longer able to provide her care, so she was returned to me.

Sammy just turned one last month. She is spayed & potty trained. She loves to take walks and is extremely well-behaved! Although Sammy knows the rules at my house,  as with all dogs changing homes, I do expect her to require some transitional training when she leaves here.

The emotional transition has been tough for Sammy and I have found that she can be quite selective with new people. For this reason, I am asking that any potential candidates be prepared to come and meet Sam in person to determine she it’s a good fit for your family.

Adoption fees are not my concern when placing adult dogs. I’m looking for someone that has a heart for rescue dogs. If you feel as though you have the time, love and patience to provide Sammy with the transitional support she needs, please contact me directly.

Peach, you’re so COOL!!! 😎

Meet Bowser and Princess Peach… these two Havanese are 12 week old brother and sister. Bowser is the little black-and-white guy. He’s bold, outgoing, playful, and extremely affectionate. Peach is loving, joyful, gregarious, and cuddly.

For those who want a puppy, but prefer to avoid the newborn stage, these babies are the perfect age for leaving home!

Such a wonderful update — I’m so happy for Noodle and his new family!! 🥳

“We had a great drive home and he didn’t get sick.

We’re now settling in at home. The introduction to Bendi went well and Noodle is just happy to be cozy.

Our first night/day has been uneventful and filled with love and cuddles.

Thank you again. It has been so great working with you and we are so grateful to be able to add Noodle to our family.“

Hello, Friends & Happy Sunday! 🥳

The joy of bringing a baby puppy home is indisputable. However, it cannot be overlooked that there are also adult dogs who sometimes need homes & many of you who prefer to avoid the puppy stages altogether.

At cornerstone, we value our promise to take responsibility for the puppies we produce at any stage of life, for any reason. Unfortunately, there are circumstances that occasionally arise leaving families unable to care for their dogs. Things like terminal illness, death, as well as disabilities have all led to families making the unimaginably painful decision to surrender their dogs to me at different times. In circumstances like these, dogs will often stay with us indefinitely, until the perfect forever home is found.

Additionally, there are times that retired mommy dogs are available for placement. I’ve even had a few go to live with their puppies. Those reunions are absolutely heartwarming!

All to say that spring being the perfect time to bring a new dog home, I’ve decided to set two weekends aside for meet & greets + adult dog adoptions and evaluations.

If you’re someone with a heart full of compassion & patience, feel as though you have the time necessary to devote to the transition of an adult dog, I want to hear from you..

✨ Double the fluff, double the love! Sunshine and Moonshine are here to remind every Havanese parent of an important tip! ✨

Did you know? Havanese dogs are prone to tear staining due to their expressive eyes and fine facial fur. While many think it’s just aesthetic, excessive tear staining can sometimes indicate allergies, blocked tear ducts, or even diet sensitivities. A few things that help:

✔️ Filtered Water – Tap water with high mineral content can contribute to staining.
✔️ Regular Face Wiping – Use a soft, damp cloth or pet-safe wipes daily to keep their faces clean.
✔️ Balanced Diet – Some dogs react to certain ingredients in food, so a high-quality diet free from fillers can make a difference.
✔️ Vet Check – If the staining suddenly worsens, it’s worth checking for eye infections or blocked tear ducts.

Havanese are known for their beautiful coats and soulful eyes—keeping those peepers clean helps them shine even brighter! ✨🐶

This update warms my heart — from Penny’s new family in Boston! ❤️

“Just wanted you to know how amazing she’s doing!! We all love her sooo much. She’s so smart, so fun, so sweet! And she loves the snow!! ❄️ 🐾 We took her with us to my grandfather’s 100th birthday and she traveled like a champ!! Her name is now Penny, like “our lucky penny” I have to tell you I don’t know how many people have stopped me in the airport as we travel with Penny - I have given out your name, probably at least a half a dozen times! Xo”
