It’s National Heartworm Awareness Month! Heartworms can be fatal if left untreated and easily preventable. The pics below are difficult to look at but completely necessary to spread the message!

We celebrated Boss’s Day yesterday and we had special visitors! Unfortunately our boss didn’t make the cut for most of this video. 🤷♀️😹
Happy Boss’s Day Dr. Hicks!!!!! This was a gentle reminder to us why you may be really tired some days! 😂❤️
Our VetCare family is extremely heartbroken today.
For as long as VetCare of Calera has been around, Maggie has stood by our sides the entire time. She brings smiles to all who meet her. She was the best friend a veterinarian could have asked for!
Maggie has visited local schools, city functions, and saved many lives at the clinic. When an emergency arose, Maggie was there to provide life saving blood.
Her most favorite thing ever, was food!! Whenever a wrapper was opened, she could hear you a mile away. Her brown nose would appear out of the dark to land on your leg for all the snacks.
Although Maggie had only 3 legs, she never let it slow her down! She enjoyed car rides, walks, and playing with her toys. The best toys had peanut butter inside!
Our hearts will never be the same. Maggie was always there for every hug, every tear, every smile. Our clinic will mourn Maggie, as will many of our clients. These are always the hardest goodbyes but we will cherish the love and memories of Maggie forever.
You are so very loved Maggie!
