NOT SETTING GOALS It’s wild. When I set goals it’s incredible how things start moving in that direction & when I don’t… well I definitely don’t have things surprise me like when I do set goals. It’s so important and yet I frequently get out of the habit. So here’s my message to you & myself In business… and in life… Don’t forget to set goals! They matter! Fun fact: when I started Zaley Designs I set goals like: 1 sale a week for a month! Then 2 sales a week for a month! & I hit them! Don’t despite small beginnings ❤️ What are some of your goals?

Diving into Small Business Mayhem one of my favorite ideas to share was how small businesses actually supported other small businesses just in the running of their small business. Diving into just one dog collar & I’m sure I’m missing some other fun details too! But just ONE dog collar: We get our hardware from a few different small businesses in the US. Our materials are purchased from countless small businesses; from quilt shops, to custom fabric printers, webbing suppliers (and makers!) you name it – our materials support so many different businesses! Our laser engraver was purchased from a small business, our sewing machines were purchased from another small business (that we also take them to for service) & our rivet presses/punches are purchased from a local franchise. And that doesn’t even touch on all of the employees and owners of those businesses & how supporting them supports their families (and their purchases from small businesses) – the ripple effect is insane (& SO cool!) Did you have any idea how deep one small business purchase could go?

A mini Studio tour starting with our supply closet & an announcement at the end! No I’m not pregnant - everyone always assumes that’s the announcement with someone says that 😂 But the big news is we’re moving! Not far, but God has blessed us with the ability to move to a home that has a room for Charlotte &&& Zaley Designs & we’re just still so so floored at the provision God has provided in this ability to move.

Like if only it were that easy 😂🫠 Then again I’m unsure if the viral life is for me… the crazy comments I see on viral accounts… *woof* Anywho… truly I jokingly came up with this around Christmas time, wrote it down and finally just did it 🙃 it sounded like a viral audio so we’ll see 🤷🏻‍♀️😂🫠

Our GingerDOG print is one of my favorites! Our illustrator brought my vision to LIFE on this one and I love it so much!

I wanted some way to offer naughty & nice collars so we started with a solid color red and green collar (handmade of of course) & then I got in contact with one of my super talented friends who does calligraphy and illustration & asked if she’d do a custom naughty & nice for us. & this is the result! Once the collars are finished I cut the metallic vinyl on my @cricut and heat press them on! They’ve become a best seller & we love ‘em!

From fashion fabric collars, to our personalized webbing endurance collars, and all the way to waterproof collars we fully stand behind the statement that no matter what kind of dog you have or what kind of lifestyle they live, they don’t have to have a boring collar. They deserve the BEST because they are the best! Stepping into this next phase we’re hard at work at creating more and more of our very own unique designs that you won’t find anywhere else. Our Winter/Christmas Collection will center around 8 brand new unique patterns that are all our own. This Fall we’ve got 1 exclusively illustrated Halloween Trucks design & paw print leopard coming & I can’t wait to see your pups rocking them! We invested in a laser to not only speed up our personalization turn around times, but upleveled our offering by adding personalization that was deep engraved for durability & black text for ultimate readability. We are focusing hard on wholesale with the goal to bring more of our products into stores closer and closer to you where you can see and experience our products and help new dog owners discover that there are more options than standard dog collars for their dogs. Our original logo was sketched at my parents dining room table in the Summer of 2012, it was time to take it to a professional & step into branding that fit who we’ve become and carry us into the dreams we have for the future!
