Desert Sol Chinooks Desert Sol Chinooks was founded in 2012 and is a breeder of Chinook dogs and breed club sanctioned Chinook crosses.

Desert Sol Chinooks is a small, hobby breeder of the Chinook dog, a rare American breed from New England originally bred for sledding and temperament. The Chinook has been described as "the "world's best kept secret" as they are loving, gentle, great for families, have a moderate energy level, are good working dogs, and make excellent companions (everything one could want in a dog!). We are locate

d in Gilbert, Arizona (we know...that's a long ways from any snow), and are committed to responsibly promoting the breed in the southwestern United States. Oh my goodness guess who is the big 1-4 today!??!? Kyra, our first Chinook and matriarch of Desert Sol is 14 years young. We will be getting a special pup cake for her birthday to celebrate this weekend. We can't believe it was 14 years ago we were the ones waiting for the weekly pupdates on her litter at Mountain Thunder Chinooks website and now we're the ones posting pupdates for others to get a Chinook puppy. She adoringly loves my dad, enjoys being the boss of our dog pack, and loves playing with Aelin and Katara her grand and great granddaughters. She is an excellent Chinook Ambassador since she is the kissing queen and wins everyone over with her eye melting stare. Happy Birthday my sweet girl, here's to many more!
