Cheyenne Cleophus Guenther My mom was in search of someone to love. She found me @ a pet adoption fair by the Charlotte Humane Society. I was very shy.

Since my name was Cheyenne, she shortened it to Chey (sounds like shy) to fit my personality.

Have u seen Elf?

Have u seen Elf?

We are offering a $2500 REWARD (anonymously/ no questions asked) for information regarding the whereabouts or "proof of of life/ adoption" of this dog named Elf. He has very unique markings. Verification required. Allegedly adopted in Charlotte from CMACC May of 2023 via staycation.

Elf was adopted by the and later dumped by their adopter at our local (Mecklenburg) kill shelter . Around the corner from HSOC (a CMACC partner.)

When we personally notified the HSOC executive team (operating out of a new 15 MILLION dollar facility) that he was at risk......we were shocked to learn that they would not be coming for him. The statement given in writing was that "they are NOT a rescue organization." That seems contradictory to their fundraising efforts; specifically mailed literature that we receive. We also received contradictory information from HSOC regarding their return policy for their alumni dogs.

Elf waited on the adoption floor for a month until he became urgent for euthanasia. He was at risk per CMACC FB plea and was featured on local network TV.

He left CMACC on staycation at critical status to never return again.

HSOC posted on their page days after he left for staycation that he was adopted. That public announcement came before his status was officially changed with CMACC internally (per CMACC shelter volunteers.)

Is it a conflict of interest for an HSOC manager to moderate a private CMACC (public shelter) volunteer forum? Adopter/private citizen information (from a government shelter) is not privy to the public or external organizations including the HSOC.

Unique circumstances.

A small, local rescue was waiting to take him upon his return from staycation........ but he never returned. No additional information was provided by HSOC. No happy adoption pic etc..... We are unaware of any formal adoption paperwork submitted to CMACC on his behalf.

We feel we owe it to this dog (and to the volunteers that loved and walked him daily at the shelter) to find the truth. Did our exposure of HSOC leaving Elf at the public shelter and/or advocation cost him his life?

We have received numerous anonymous tips but we need someone to come forward.

Rescue is hard and $2500 could go a long way to save lives. Sometimes the pursuit of the truth is worthwhile. We won't give up on Elf and are committed to finding the answers.

The Humane Society of Charlotte or CMACC could validate the adoption omitting private citizen information and provide proof of life & collect the donation but so far have failed to do so. They can also disclose if he left on staycation with an organization.

Please share!

How can you help?

*Like, tag, or SHARE. That generates traffic.

*YOU can CONTRIBUTE TO THE REWARD. We simply seek TRUTH.

*ASK the Humane Society of Charlotte to provide disclosure to the community. What kind of organization are they? What percentage of their monies helps animals? What exactly is their return policy/ obligation for the animals they adopt out?

*Do your own research.
*Their PnL was publicly listed on their website.
*Want to provide resources to help? Please DM us.

**Disclosure** Documentation will be disclosed to appropriate parties.

We support our community and homeless animals. We can (and should) do better in Charlotte.
