The July 4th walk was 13+ year old Elsathedog's final excursion. Now her hind legs no longer move properly, collapsing on her when standing. She has been spending her days resting in bed, only getting up with assistance, and for very short periods. She still appreciates being cared for, takes treats and water in bed, and is not crying or letting us see if she is suffering.

Aging IS a bitch. Elsathedog has now lived long past her breed's life expectancy, and has been lucky to enjoy good health. But she IS aging. Her daily excursions are now very short, very slow. A couple of photos taken July 4, 2019.
