Pup Ashtray B***r Kain has been pupping out for the last 27 years, and in 2014 he won his first leather title, Mr. Bullet Leather which lead him to a prominent role in reviving the human pup scene in Los Angeles, mostly by creating Dog Pound, the largest pup play event in SoCal at the time. In 2015 he created LA PUP PRIDE Weekend, with its crowning glory, the Los Angeles Pup Contest. Since its inc

arnation, the LA pup community has grown leaps and bounds since Dog Pound, with other promoters and the creation of the SoCal PAH group, several popular pup play events, including more recently the hit pup night called Chewi’s Kennel. Back in 2015, Ashtray and his handler Dan Lovell toured a ‘Dog Pound’ puppy playground to several local pride festivals and he began teaching classes on pup play at leather conventions across America. In 2016, he created the ‘Off Sunset Puppy Olympics,’ which was an Olympic style competition for human pups, and the party, ‘Beast’ designed for furries, pet players, primals and the humans the love them. In 2017, he became the first, ’International Geared Up Pup, and marched in the Atlanta Pride festival with the creators and the fabulous pup community in Atlanta, Georgia. At the same time in Hollywood, television producers took notice of his internet social presence and popularity.TruTV’s ‘You Can Do Better’ asked ashtray to be featured as a human pup on an episode about humans and their relationship to pets. He was also featured on two popular international radio talk shows. In 2018, Netflix asked him to be featured on the show, Magic for Humans, starring magician Justin Willman. They also featured the 2017 LA Pup contestants. It premiered in the season 1 finale, entitled, ‘Love.’

Ashtray currently is focused on producing and creating lgbtq, leather, fe**sh & pup play community events in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Pup Contest happens every year in November and has yielded 6 extraordinary title pups. He currently resides in Studio City.

We are proud to announce LA Pup Prides 9th season! Our events are tailored specifically to be unique spaces to learn grow and connect with pups, handlers and the people that support us. Our classes are designed for exploring new ways to connect to your kinks, exploring ideas that connect with the internal pup and finding new friends. We are thrilled how many packs and groups have formed out of these events to bring love and support to the lives of many like us. Our goal is to help the local pup pet and handler community thrive. Each LA Pup Pride event is carefully planned and designed by our dedicated team of producers, and made possible by our extraordinary volunteers, our local bars/clubs, and our amazing donors.
We must not forget that it takes a village so it’s the village we reward and celebrate. We are happy to provide a new adventure for our pup community every year! This year we joined forces with the popular event
Howl
DTLA. We are very pleased to be holding this years contest at the Howl DTLA Party at Precinct!

Museum (Free Event)
(11am-1pm) group trip to the Broad Museum for anyone who wants to attend.Tickets are free and available online through www.thebroad.com
Order them now for the 11am time slot and we will walk the Broad together and enjoy beautiful works of art by Warhol, Keith Haring and many more incredible artists. Space is limited. All exhibits except one are free on Saturdays. Come have a cultured morning!

Our classes are going to take place in Grand Park this year after the museum. It’s a short walk to the park for there.

At 1:30 join us for
Saturday in the Park with Orion, A Pup Paint Project
W/ LA Pup 20-21 pup Star Orion ( Free event, Donations accepted)
Pup Orion teaches pups how to paint on canvas using their paws and sniffer.

2:30pm

Co creator Dan Lovell teaches a plaster of Paris molding class to make a very special puppy souvenir for any who attend. The class is free but donations are heartily accepted and go to the instructor of each class.

On Saturday night we hike it up to The Bullet Bar for our annual—
Dog Pound: Meet & Greet Event at Bullet Bar (9:00 PM - 1:00 AM)**
($7 Cover)

Contestants will meet the public ,draw their numbers, sell raffle tickets and be introduced in order on stage.
The judges will get to know each pup and connect with the community.

Sunday, November 3rd, 2024:
LA Pup Contest at Precinct DTLA (4pm-8pm)
($10 Cover)
Contest starts at 4 and ends at 8. Contestants will show us what they got and a new LA Pup will be sashed.

Hey theatre or connected professionals in Los Angeles! I am looking for a small theatre/black box or bar with a stage area for sone talented performers who want to do a cabaret show. It’s partly for charity and the performers are great people and will be casting more, and if you have any connections or know a place that might want to host them, they are looking for a space for a one night or afternoon only performance on one of these dates…Fri Sat or Sun may 31-June 1 or June 8th 9th 14th,15th,16th,21st,22nd,23rd,28th 29th
