Time to start training the babies. Harness training is so important. We all know what happens if you just keep a big dog in a backyard with no socialisation or environmental stimuli , they can become anti social, dominant and destructive, same with Macaws. They are intelligent and need to be taken out and about . If breeders sell to the pet trade at the bare minimum they should be harness training.

Scams -
Man taking advantage of elderly aviculturists.
We recently had dealings with a Brad from Dungog. Craig 71 had fallen for his constant sob stories and held onto 3 pairs of birds for him . Brad rung weekly with sob stories and how hard done by he was, constantly promising to put a deposit down but it never eventuated. After 12 months I contacted Brad and requested a deposit or the birds would be sold. We had run out of aviary space and cannot hold onto birds indefinitely with NO DEPOSIT down.
Brad gave more sob stories but refused to pay the deposit..... and I shut the deal down. This was our second rodeo with Brad in a 2 year period, I said do not contact us again, it was causing Craig way too much stress..
Brad then rung acquaintances of ours doing a hatchet job on me, he cried to them and begged them to get the birds on his behalf..........this is where it gets tragic.........one elderly pensioner felt sorry for Brad and unbeknown to us bought the birds from us for Brad, but used his own money....the elderly man is a invalid pensioner, who is legally blind and has major health issues ..it was all his savings....... Brad had promised to repay him on delivery of the birds....
Now the Sting :
Birds were delivered and Brad couldn't come up with the funds but the invalid pensioner believed Brad when he said he would pay them off. When the invalid pensioner tried to collect a part payment Brad flatly refused and turned spiteful and vindictive....he then set out to do a hatchet job on him ...ringing their mutual acquaintances and just like he had done to us and many before us, convincing people that he was the victim and was the one hard done by.
We have since found out Brad has a reputation spanning over 10 years of playing this scam. Sob stories, receiving birds and not paying for birds.
The invalid pensioner is desperate to get his savings back. ..he rung us crying and devastated. This message is a warning to others , hopefully no one else will lose there money to this scammer.
We have offered to Buy all the birds back and refund the money to the invalid pensioner if Brad returns them to him......Anyone that knows Brad, please put pressure on him to either pay the 75 year old or return the birds.
