Hi, Iām Ares ā a 1.5-year-old, 40lb Husky/Aussie Shepherd mix with one-of-a-kind facial and ear markings. My look is as unique as my personality!Iām all about love ā giving it, receiving it, and then curling up on your lap like the oversized cuddle bug I am. Kids? Love āem! Other dogs? Iām a fan (most of the time). Iām surprisingly chill for a Husky mix ā youāll often find me flat on my back, legs in the air, catching some Zās. Trust me, itās as comfy as it sounds! Now, at times Iāll get a little vocal being part husky and all, I like to chatter, but itās just my nerves talking ā Iāve got a calm, trusting soul and my foster mom makes sure I stay socialized with different people and dogs. I currently live with two Shepherds and a rotating cast of foster buddies. So, Iām well-versed in doggy dynamics.Iām also housebroken (no accidents here!), and Iāve got great manners. Iām a smart cookie, too ā my leash skills and basic obedience have come along well. Plus, Iām a bit food-motivated, which means training is fun and tasty! My dream home? A family with young kids would be amazing ā Iām gentle and love playing with little humans. Whether Iām your first dog or youāre a seasoned pro, I could be the perfect fit for your family. Bonus points if thereās another dog for me to hang out with, but Iād also be happy soaking up all the attention as your one-and-only.Looking for a loving, playful, and totally chill pup? Iām your guy!
Our solo pup has a name!! Thank you for all the suggestions and donations. We had lots to choose from and now his name is DUKE!!!
What a stunner! This blue eyed beauty is Dougal! He is about 10 weeks old and ready to start looking for his new family. Dougal is sweet , cuddly, very playful and so smart. Heās trying is best at potty training and is a good sleeper. He plays hard and sleeps hard.Typical puppy he is very curious and getting into everything but redirects easy enough. How can you resist that face. Dougal is a pitty mix and should mature to be a large dog around 70-80 lbs.
Fina and Fonzie both adopted!! Their wonderful foster put together a tribute video to them. Thank you for caring so much for them!!
GRAPHIC VIDEO! WE NEED TO DO BETTER!
We are so proud to have who we do as fosters! But, we always need more. Foster life is joyful, fun, tiring and rewarding. We need more fosters dedicated to helping animals, if you can please fill out an application to foster through our website www.poundrescue.com.
FOSTER FOUND. THANKS
Newborn kitten needs a nursing mom. We have to find one soon for this little one. We need fosters willing to sacrifice and go that extra bit to help sick found kittens. This is but one of many others needing help. But for now if you have or know a person or rescue with a nursing mom with 10 day old kittens and has room please contact us directly. Text 403-816-0886
River is so beautiful and sweet. She is calm but loves adventures and other dogs. She is all ready for her new home. Her beginning was rough and amazing at the same time. Found under a stationary oil tank at a gas station by a busy Hwy she along with her 5 other siblings and mom survived freezing weather, rain, heat, wind. Feeding only off mom who had to leave for hours at a time to find food for herself so she could feed and keep her pups alive. River came to us with the family a few months back but now that they are all ready they can now start a new life with you. She is housetrained and is learning how to walk on a leash and basic commands. Four of her siblings have been adopted now itās her time. You wonāt find better pups out there. This litter is extremely sweet and chilled!
I was asked the other day (more like a statement not a question)
āYou get paid to do this right?ā
Iām not sure what other rescues do and maybe more should ask this question but our whole board does not get paid. We pull nothing from the rescue so that all the money can go towards animal care. 100% of donations go towards animal care. I personally am helping animals and people from as early as 6:30am to 11:00 at night. Some days itās nonstop other days not as bad.
Why would I personally sacrifice so much time from my family (and I have a very large family) and from a ānormalā life. Filling my home and time with animals. Simple: They deserve to be loved and cared for. All of them.
We recently got this little fellow (my kids call him Pirate lol) he was found hungry and with this straight leg. He is only about 10-12 weeks old. Obviously for many many weeks, if not born like this, this poor guy has suffered. He must have been in pain and he had to learn to survive and get what food he could find. We donāt need to go overseas or to Mexico to find a case like this each day right here in Alberta.
So simply said HE IS THE REASON I (WE) DO THIS FOR FREE!!!
Canāt you open up your hearts, homes and have compassion for these poor animals that would and will continue to suffer right here if we donāt help them. Winter is coming, the saddest time of year for us as we know how many will suffer and die.
PLEASE HELP THEM.
