My name is Pat Aiello and I bring to the table a tool kit that is 22 years in the making, a life with 107 foster dogs and a certification. What if you could improve your dog's listening skills? Does your dog only listen to you when you have a treat? We teach a "Leadership/Relationship" program that is 12 steps. Combine that with a structured way to take the basic obedience cues into real life situations, and you will see a difference in you and your dog.

My "one". The bestest boy! My canine soulmate.
Gone 11 years today.

I hope everyone is blessed with that “one dog”. This is the dog where you can’t remember life before them, and you don’t understand how you are standing upright without them. — Pat Aiello

Most of the stories on here are about rescue dogs. Sometimes, a purebred will be showcased with their story. Within that group, sometimes a rare purebred will show up.

This is the case with these two precious dogs. The Scottie is 9 months and is a perfect candidate for The Foundations Course. His name is Andy and is nickname is Barky Barkinson! You know I am not making that up. I am calling him Barky and he is so adorable.

The Shar Pei is 6 years old and her name is Willow. She does not have a skittish bone in her body unlike most Shar Pei's, however, she has not told me if she wants to enroll in the course yet. I will work on winning her over.

We just started our "Strong Beginning" (see website) so stay tuned.

"What's up Doc?"
My new client Doc, will tell you that he just turned 4 on 6/1/2024 and he is believed to be an English Setter Mix.

He will also tell that he is sad because he lost his owner and his playmate. He arrived in his new home at the end of March.

This is where I come in.

I will tell you that in 22 years of working with dogs, Doc is in the top 3 most unique and challenging cases to come way.

As always, I thrive on challenges and I am determined to help him live his best life. I will need to wear 3 different hats to pull this off.

Did I mention challenging?

Doc would also tell you to wish him and his new friend, Aunt Pat, lots of luck.

TIA

Meet 6 year old Oliver. He is a GSD, Lab and Cocker Spaniel mix. At the consultation the couple gave me Oliver's report card.

Goes nuts on leash when he sees other dogs with Mom walking him. Dad claims it rarely happens with him. He also pulls pretty hard with both, confirmed by me. They use a retractable (gasp).

Got into fights at dog parks.
Oliver was kicked out of doggy day care at Pet Smart.

I remember years (decades) ago when I told a trainer to help me teach my Siberian Husky to like most dogs. Ha Ha Isn't this what most owners want?

I explained to them Oliver may have different reactions to the dogs they encounter. He plays with the dog across the street.

I observed some anxiety when we finally got a friendly woman to help us out with her dogs. We stayed on opposite sides of the street. Oliver got up in the air on his hind legs.

SAFETY FIRST!

To start, we got rid of the retractable leash. I hope they are banned some day. Then we got Oliver in a chest-led harness and to cut off the momentum of the pulling, we used a shorter leash.

Next we will train the humans and hopefully use another client of mine that is a couple of blocks away.
Of course, we will wait until the current heat wave is over.

Oliver is a jovial soul. Always smiling at any visitors. He is a fairly quick learner and has good focus. When he gets over stimulated or too excited, he puts himself in his crate. Darndest thing I ever saw. He comes back out after he is calmer.

I really am enjoying working with all three of them. Look for more on Oliver.

I want to work with people who want to work. Be excited! Be committed and we will accomplish great things together.

Meet ZUKO, an almost 5 year old Cockapoo.

Zuko is the grand dog of a former class mate of mine. When he passed 5 years ago, it sent shock waves through our entire class.

Now I am working with his daughter, wife and Zuko. This little guy keeps me giggling most of the session. He is such a character and his Mom has taught him some pretty cool tricks.

This quirky guy has some quirky issues that are improving with each session.
This is because the humans are putting the work into his training and even with hectic schedules, they stay committed.

I thank them.

In the Summer of 2022, I trained the Black Lab, Louie. Oh my gosh, what a creature!
He is very large and WAS very rough, however his personality is gentle and sweet. What a time I had with his Mom, who is one of the top 10 students of all time.

Riley, the Golden, was added a few months after Louie's graduation.
The Mom referred me to a family on their street and I popped in to say Hello to everyone. Riley was trained by her Mom and I couldn't be prouder.
Kudos and Woo Woo's to all.

If you are a multiple dog house hold, PLEASE READ!

This is my blog, so my opinion. I can not explain how strongly I believe in this topic.

Back before Solutions was even born, a delightful young couple moved into the home next to me. We became friends and I wound up helping them when they bought two 9-week-old Australian Cattle Dogs. The couple, let’s call them “A” and “B”, worked very long hours. I had flexibility in my sale...

This new website is a long time in the making. About 10 years. 🙂
Most of the work was done in the past two months as I officially entered my second decade of training.
There are changes in my business. I know my strengths and I know what type of cases I no longer will take on. PLEASE still refer people and I will point them in the right direction if we are not a match.
For me, this re-branding, is coming at a perfect time in my life. Like when all the stars are aligned and all the pups are in a row.
The website is me having a conversation with you about your dog(s). It is written from my heart, soul and a tool kit that is 22 years in the making.
Please take time to read. It would mean so much to me.
Thanks
