Who doesn't love a mini Goldendoodle? Well, you may love him right away, but Griffin needs to be won over.

This is not typical of Goldendoodles and after trying a few things, we finally discovered the key.

Go out in the yard and play zoomies with him. He chases me and I chase him. After 5 minutes, we go inside and I am his best friend.

One size does not fit all when it comes to meeting strangers.

Griffy's owner is a senior citizen and she wonders why she bought a puppy 10 months ago. She is well passed retirement and leads a very calm life. Griffin just turned 1 last week.

The three of us have much work to do to make sure both species get what they need out of this relationship.

Meet Maya. She is round 2 for me and this family. Round 1 was over a decade ago.
With the passing of Ginger in April, they realized quickly the void was just too much.

Once again they went the rescue route and wound up with this 2 year old peanut. No DNA test yet.

Maya is a petite, calm girl who let me touch her all over and pick her up the first time I met her.

We will be laying out The Foundation Course for her, and a refresher course for the humans.

I am so honored to be invited back to work with this family again.

This 5 year old Poodle is Bentley. I have been working with him since the end of the summer.

Bentley is not your typical Poodle. He is more like a Tornado/Boxer mix. Even though he is 5, his energy level is that of a 1 year old.

His human is retired and doing her best to give Bentley the stimulation and exercise he needs.

Bentley is making his way through the foundation course with an emphasis on listening skills. His human is learning how to be the leader he needs, along with providing enrichment for him.

Bentley is sweet and goofy and just a fun dog. Once we harness that energy, he will be an excellent dog.

Meet Toby. He is a "Potcake" from Turks and Caicos. He is 71/2 months old.
His human and I have known each other a long time. I was her client and now she is mine. Life is funny like that sometimes.

Toby is a timid soul and we are navigating the waters in his new home of just about 3 months.
Beyond his skittish nature, is a well mannered calm pup. He is already serving as an emotional support dog for the clients who come to the home. He helps people stay grounded during their sessions.
Just look at that face.

Does anyone remember Milton? He is the second Boxer I trained for the family and he just had his first maintenance session.

Any new issues pop up with this beast of a Boxer? According to his Dad, Milton is just "obnoxious" when people first come over. After that, he is mildly annoying.

Milton had big paws to step into because his predecessor, Wyatt, was such a gentleman. I don't think he knew he was a Boxer.

Milton is more like the typical Boxer.

One more session, and all should be good.

Here is Milton as a pup, graduate and adult. Can't wait to see him again.

This is rescue dog, Bluey, and he has earned my admiration.

Bluey has been through a lot in his short 1 1/2 years. This has caused him to be anxious and slow to trust and show affection. Even though he is in one of the best dog loving family I have ever met, building his confidence is a marathon.

To all of our delight, Bluey has laser focus during training. He learns remarkably fast! This will really help with his anxiety because his family is committed to always keep him learning and to enrich his life as much as possible.

Bluey enjoys his puppy sister Vienna. More on both of them coming soon.

About 8 years ago while at Peace Valley Park, I stopped dead in my tracks. There were about a dozen people standing around 2 Leonbergers with their humans.

How often do you see Leonbergers outside of a dog show?

That was a start of a friendship and some occasional pet sitting gigs. Fast forward to present time, and I live 1 minute from them and have had many pet sitting gigs.

My friends currently have 3 generations with the grandfather being the young dog I originally met. Each generation, even the pup, are champions in the ring. They are running out of room in their house for all the ribbons.

I know this breed is not for everyone, however, technically they could be. They are such gentle souls and so affectionate.

God blessed us with dogs.

This photo was taken by a vendor sitting on a sidewalk, and commented:

"This dog was sitting watching the customers who took food from me and gave me a currency note in exchange. After a while, he immediately got up and brought a piece of leaf, and looked at me with innocent and hopeful eyes. As if he wanted to eat something, in return, I fulfilled his wish."

This story is a perfect example of simplicity and innocence, where even an animal tries to understand human behavior.
