Baklava loves the photos of our travels.
I frame some and often find him looking at them,
remembering that captured moment.

The photo of us at the Comicpalooza in Houston after we dropped off a box of my books at the Zoo for sale, and we visited the zoo animals.

We are not all warm in our homes enjoying the holidays.
Horrific events are all around us, and doing our best to help these types of causes is truly a blessing to those who suffer unspeakable treatment. Please do your best to help the helpless, even if it is signing petitions, or contacting the authorities who have the power to stop the pain.

Thank you. 💗

Made a little Baklava Christmas display for his Egyptian room Fort.
Has his trains lit up in there. He loves it and I catch him laying in his voodoo doughnut bed admiring all the glitter of the holiday.
He sometimes cries when he is very happy, and now says, "I love you" to me. Anything to make the spoilt dawg happy. 💗🐕

Labor Day Weekend.
Well Baklava didn't get any peach cobbler when shopping this morning, but he did get a jar of peach preserves which made him feel quite patriotic.
Can we get a whoot-whoot for all of the Turkish Americans?

Poor Bakkie had to stay home this morning while mama volunteered at the Run Your Ash Off Event in Bastrop State Park. Had to be there at 5:30am to hand out packets, baby wanted to come with. 🙁 Got a 5th anniversary t-shirt and smiles from a lot of runners raising money for more seedlings to plant in the determined burnt-out forest. 🌲🌲🌲

After Baklava watched the video below on Pirates he noticed he needs an eye patch to complete is Halloween ensemble, so back to the store we go...but there was no more eye patches to be found, over a month before the holiday! Talk about a sad face, he looked like Rosel the pouting bear...who also needed a costume. I picked a furry scary bear mask off the shelf and showed it to Bak. His eyes went big and his head went back away from scary bear, then looked at me for an answer. I lifted my shoulders and said, "It's pretend. Rosel wants to play Halloween too." I thought I saw his head go back and forth as if thinking, "This is crazy, what am I getting myself into?"
Fear not wee Baklava I promise a good time, just practise closing one eye and growling.
That's my Pirate!

So the other day we search for an eye patch...nope, none in HEB, none in Walgreen's, Walmart Halloween section did not have any unless you bought the whole costume, as we walk away half defeated we were called back by some employees...they found an eye patch in the pharmacy section! Bak smiled when I showed him the picture on the box with a man wearing one. When we got home he was actually excited when I asked if he wanted to try it on to see if it fits. This eye or that, I tried on both, he didn't seem to care but slightly favored covering the right. Done. He wore it nicely as I took a few pictures, then like any toy, the new wore off and he went to sleep dreaming of shipwrecks and rum cake. 🌊🚣🍰

Baklava, when I tell you not to dig in mamas newly seeded garden...it's for a reason.

Baklava has been bugging me for attention all day. He is sick and tired of my darn projects, it takes away from his petting time. 🐶
Just about to wrap it up Mr. Man, hold those horses. 🐎🐎🐎
Mama is fix'n to give you so much love'n you will wish you left me alone to my own little world of endless workaholic duties. 🐾

Of course the rotten boy got what he wanted, and some hush puppies too.

An old photo many years ago when I was working on the peace sign garden for Stevie's statue.
Baklava the dutiful servant earned his keep today in the blazing heat.
Rented a car for our bi-monthly shopping supply session, he is like me, feeling our age, yet we carried on like good troopers doing the task at hand. HEB (was getting crowded first thing in the morning making it hard on my agoraphobia, but nothing I can do with rental opening later and having pick up/drop off time included), was able to skip Walmart since they delivered most of what I needed for free. Can't wait for HEB to do the same. Was disappointed they ran out of sunflower oil and HEB had non either. Wth? US is known for our sunflowers. Guess I'll have to make my own. 🤷‍♀️. Then Petco to fill Baklava's Basset Hound Cookie Jar. Half of the bins were empty and only vegan treats were to pick from, which totally delighted me. Got $13 worth, $3 more than normal, but the boy is worth that and much more. Then noticed what looked like Oreo cookies and inquired about it. The clerk said she just put that product out and we checked to see if it was vegan, it was, got two containers, one for the upcoming holidays, one for the cruise. Rotten dawg. Then went to find seeds for the gardens at Lowe's, nope won't be in for another week or two. What? Ridiculous. Then to Specs to load up on vertigo medicine, was excited to find ginger beer which I can never find in HEB though it is easily found on their website, and ordered a special bottle of champagne which is cheaper than online...if I'm able to get it. Then haul butt to Tractor Supply to pick up Hungarian Barbarian food and bedding but since yesterday they were closed for holiday never got my barcode and had to go in to check on order, well surprise, surprise there were organic garden seeds to purchase, of which HEB didn't even have and our local nursery no longer sells (seriously, what's going on?). Home to unload everything in between soap opera commercials, brunch, check on bumble foot hen and a much needed quick power nap. We woke still tired and did not want to even visit the statue in the heat so skipped that, removed a temporary double screw from glass table, which got lost and brought to replace at Apple Lumber, got what they had but not going to work permanently, three more bags of screws
to be on the ready for fall projects, and a few bags of soil, unloaded, Smiths Supply for a roll of wire and off to return car and get ride back which the driver spoke of big dogs he has had only live 8-12 years, meaning my angel Baklava only has 2-6 years left in theory. 😕
Time goes by so very fast.
