An old photo many years ago when I was working on the peace sign garden for Stevie's statue.
Baklava the dutiful servant earned his keep today in the blazing heat.
Rented a car for our bi-monthly shopping supply session, he is like me, feeling our age, yet we carried on like good troopers doing the task at hand. HEB (was getting crowded first thing in the morning making it hard on my agoraphobia, but nothing I can do with rental opening later and having pick up/drop off time included), was able to skip Walmart since they delivered most of what I needed for free. Can't wait for HEB to do the same. Was disappointed they ran out of sunflower oil and HEB had non either. Wth? US is known for our sunflowers. Guess I'll have to make my own. 🤷♀️. Then Petco to fill Baklava's Basset Hound Cookie Jar. Half of the bins were empty and only vegan treats were to pick from, which totally delighted me. Got $13 worth, $3 more than normal, but the boy is worth that and much more. Then noticed what looked like Oreo cookies and inquired about it. The clerk said she just put that product out and we checked to see if it was vegan, it was, got two containers, one for the upcoming holidays, one for the cruise. Rotten dawg. Then went to find seeds for the gardens at Lowe's, nope won't be in for another week or two. What? Ridiculous. Then to Specs to load up on vertigo medicine, was excited to find ginger beer which I can never find in HEB though it is easily found on their website, and ordered a special bottle of champagne which is cheaper than online...if I'm able to get it. Then haul butt to Tractor Supply to pick up Hungarian Barbarian food and bedding but since yesterday they were closed for holiday never got my barcode and had to go in to check on order, well surprise, surprise there were organic garden seeds to purchase, of which HEB didn't even have and our local nursery no longer sells (seriously, what's going on?). Home to unload everything in between soap opera commercials, brunch, check on bumble foot hen and a much needed quick power nap. We woke still tired and did not want to even visit the statue in the heat so skipped that, removed a temporary double screw from glass table, which got lost and brought to replace at Apple Lumber, got what they had but not going to work permanently, three more bags of screws
to be on the ready for fall projects, and a few bags of soil, unloaded, Smiths Supply for a roll of wire and off to return car and get ride back which the driver spoke of big dogs he has had only live 8-12 years, meaning my angel Baklava only has 2-6 years left in theory. 😕
Time goes by so very fast.
