If you are looking to adopt a dog, please bring in any dogs you may already have for a meet-and-greet. Whilst not essential, we appreciate it if you could book an appointment in advance if you have dogs at home already and looking to adopt another dog. This ensures that we can dedicate enough individual time to help facilitate ideal matches 🐶 If a specific dog or cat has captured your heart on our website, please reach out in advance as they may currently be in a foster (temporary) home.

🚨 OUR VET CLINIC IS FULL 🚨

Unfortunately our vet clinic is completely full. We have 61 patients in care with our vet clinic and every cage is full. Until our existing patients get better and then go to foster homes or our shelter (which is also quite full!), we are unable to hospitalise new animals at our vet clinic.

If you have an injured stray animal, please contact your local vet clinic.

If you would like to help our shelter and vet clinic, please consider fostering a pet with us. Fostering involves temporarily caring for an animal (usually for a few weeks or months) in your home until they are ready for adoption. It is free to sign up and our vet clinic and shelter is at our Kemps Creek location but we also have other foster programs around NSW. For more info and to sign up, visit https://www.awlnsw.com.au/foster-care/

Did you know that cats and kittens feel the same emotions as us.
So how would you feel if you were suddenly put on the street to fend for yourself.
Worthless, upset, seperation anxiety, wondering WHY you are sleeping on wet leaves or cold concrete a day after sleeping in a warm bed.
Where your next meal is coming from, if that b8g Tomcat is going to harm you or your babies.
Have you ever seen a cat cry!
I have and its so heartbreaking.

Please educate at any chance you get. Those words may just save one life!

💗💗💗MEET CHESTER💗💗💗

Chester came into our care yesterday in shocking condition. He was picked up and rushed to the vet by two amazing members of the public. He is malnourished and has ringworm from tail to nose.

HCR tries to save as many cats as we can. Some of them are in shocking condition, like Chester. We do the best we can, but are a small rescue.

Thank you to everyone who supports us. My promise is that we always try to do our best and what is right.

Regards

Cindy

Jax is still looking for his forever home.

Jax has been in care for nearly a year and a half. He has had one meet but was to shy. He is a shy guy that does not like to be picked up. He will meow at you and ask for a pat on his terms, otherwise he just keeps to himself and does his own thing.

Jax needs a patient family that is willing to put in the extra hard work to make him feel comfortable.

He is located in Blacktown and would love to meet you.

Rehoming number 251000014.

1 YEAR IN CARE - 13 year old Jennifer still waits for her forever home. 💞

Jennifer has been with us for a long while, patiently waiting for a family who won't mind if she is more matured than the kittens they may see at the shelter. Don't be fooled by her grumpy cat face, this girl is affectionate from her head to her paws.

Jennifer's health has improved tremendously whilst in our care and as a result, she has developed quite the appetite. Her favourite meal, is the same as most, and that's snack time. Saucy, creamy treats will bring her back to her kitten years and she will do just about anything for a taste.

Jennifer's ideal day would be snuggled into your lap (and she will follow you around until your lap is free for warming) being fed squeezy treats and gently pat until she falls asleep. Unfortunately, you will be stuck in this position for quite some time, not wanting to disturb her slumber.

Once she settles, Jennifer is most certainly a cat that can hold up her end of the conversation, chirping away asking about your day.

A slow, relaxed and less busy family that can maintain a perfectly quiet napping environment would keep Jennifer very happy. Loud noises and barking dogs can cause her to startle as she is not used to these things.

If you'd like to meet kind, gentle Jennifer please reach out to us to organise a meet and greet.

Jennifer is 13 years old and her adoption fee is just $75 (until 21.1.24) as part of our adoption special for all cats who have been with us for 4+ months. Her adoption fee includes vaccinations, microchipping, desexing and eligibility for free registration with council.
We are located at 1605 Elizabeth Drive, Kemps Creek and open 10am-3:30pm Mon-Sun except New Years Day. Contact us on 8777 4445 during opening hours or email [email protected] anytime if you have any questions. This sweet girl is in a temporary (foster) home so please contact us to book an appointment to meet Jennifer if you're looking to adopt.
