I was told by an expert to get this to deter coyotes. It is loud, makes a pretty awful noise, but coyotes do not like the sound.

The GetGone Device is a great deterrent to carry or to keep on your porch to ward away a coyote or an off leash dog that seems threatening. Our company does not want to harm another living creature. GetGone just makes a loud sound and works from a safe distance. Unlike Mace or Pepper Spray you do not have the risk of spraying yourself, your child or your dog and you can stay far away.
Also, many people comment about carrying a gun... first of all... you can not always shoot a gun in certain situations and it should not be your first choice... especially if your child, other people or animals are around. Coyotes have a natural species protection. Killing them is not the answer... in fact... if you do you actually add to the population as their litter numbers increase. The best solution is to coexist with our living creatures and give them a nudge with a loud sound if they see your child or your dog as pray.

Coyotes are a part of our life here in Florida. They are being seen more and more and they continue to come into our communities. Today a young child was almost attacked by a coyote. Killing them is not the answer as they just procreate to keep their numbers up. The best thing you can do is to scare them off with a sound. We have been working with the department of agriculture in California! Our device simply makes a loud sound the will scare off a coyote easily.
