One of our lessons shows a perfect example of how riding with your body can affect what your horse does. They feel everything.
In our lessons we teach turning, stopping, & changing speed through our body rather than through a bit & kicking. Eventually, a bit can be used gently for refinement. Never kicking.

It's fly season. We have tried so many things to get rid of them, from chickens to sticky tape.

Several volunteers have put together these 4 horse & deer fly traps for us. They are working!

This is a honey bee. The pollen on her legs is from dandelions. Her tongue is sticking out due to what killed her that was on the dandelions.
It’s spring, dandelions are the bees first food. This bee is dead from w**d killer spread on what we see as w**ds, but what nature sees as food. Please don’t spray for w**ds until you see the blackberries blooming.
In this area, w**ds, flowers and fruit trees are bees only source of food until middle of June. There are FAR more w**ds than flowers or fruit trees, so it's their only food source. No bees, no food crops for us and we all starve?!

Another fun day. Vicky finds Scottie to be warm & comfortable. Scottie is listening to see if he should be concerned. Both were fine with it until he started walking. I bet she'd get as used to it as she did riding in, on, & on top of the roof of the UTV.🤣

This amazing transformation from a girl who was afraid to do things on her own, to who doesn't need my help to lead 2 horses at once (or pretty much anything anymore). She has the Parelli course on-line at her fingertips. Empty nest syndrome is setting in. Fly little bird. Bittersweet.
