Usually this is the reaction I get when I walk into a room where Pip is at.
My sweet Hope went to AERC today for a CT scan for an ear infection. As I was posting this I got the call that her middle ear appears normal and what was thought to be a bloody area was a wax build up. It appears that perhaps the meds she’s been on cleared up the infection.
Tooth purrs
Hope tooth purring this morning.
Hopey is such a sweetheart.
Hope would let me pet her for hours. When she’s the most relaxed her back feet will kick out. I love my girl! ♥️
(Anyone notice the quick view of Bear in the background?)
Happy 6th birthday to Bear Bear. Missing Twinkie today since they were brothers.
Jordan is like a toddler all the time. Always into things. Always being the agitator. It’s a good thing Winston is so laid back but also doesn’t take crap from him.
Poodie is one several of Jordan’s nicknames.
Today at the vet Hopey was her usual sweet and amazing self. She groomed Twink after his sub q fluids.
We were home about 2 hours and when I went to feed critical care, I found him very weak. Tried to entice him with a bit of critical care however his breathing became distress and he became limp. I reached out to our vet and rushed him to the animal ER. He’s been sedated and an X-ray taken that shows an enlarged heart (heart murmur was found today). He’ll stay overnight getting IV fluids, as well as being kept warm and in an oxygen tank. Unfortunately Hope won’t be able to stay with Twink. If he makes it to tomorrow morning he will have the ultrasound done then. I hate leaving him knowing it could be my last time, but this is the only chance I have to give him an opportunity to live and be healthy again. Sadly, I feel that this is goodbye though.
Edit to add - I got to look in on Twink before leaving the animal ER. He had been sedated so they could take an X-ray and they saw that his heart is enlarged (found out today he has a heart murmur). I’ll follow up tomorrow with the vet to see if the 2/12 X-ray has any differences. Twinkie was in an oxygen tank that was keeping him warm and helping him breath. He’d push against my hand as I stroked his head and talked into the hole to him.
It’s almost midnight and I called to check on Twink. They tried to put in an IV cather so they could give him meds and fluids. However he became too stressed and they had to stop. They’ll try again in awhile.
Last week Winston started throwing up several times a day, causing us to postpone his ear surgery. We are back to the vet again today, seeing a colleague of who has seen us the last few times. Ear infection still going on deep within, causing Winston to scratch himself a bit raw on his head and he’s still throwing up daily. We did blood work (2nd time since in the last 6 months) which came back fine, an injection for nausea and one for an antibiotic to get him through the holiday. Surgery is end of next week.
This was a couple of weeks ago. I learned how to pet them all at once. Hoping to get the boys to get along again so we can return to these activities without issues.
This was taken 6/29/19, shortly after the group of 5 bonded and came home to their new room. Since then the boys, Twinkie and Bear, who are 5 1/2 and have been together since birth, have had a complete falling out. I’m devastated to say that their bond is broken. They have started fighting viciously with each other. Bear seems to start it, however he also ends up being the one who gets the worse of it. I’ve have taken him to the vet because of a bite wound and to make sure he had no other health issue. He’s doing very well but now has a “bachelor pad” in the bunny room. I’ve had to block him off completely because the boys will even fight between the xpen wall. The other day I tried holding Bear with Beanie, thinking I could make them into a bonded pair. Bear bit her on the cheek and she let out a squeal! She is also okay.
So for now Bear is on his own and is getting cuddles with just me. I am hoping to be able to reintroduce him back with the others in time.
Sophia Marie is one happy girl. I’ve caught her doing bunny flops and rolls several times this week.
(Ignore the horrible fan sound. I have it on high for the white noise because of fireworks and thunderstorms this week.)
Th 2/7/2019 ... Today Jordan has been going crazy watching all the snow flakes fall and he’s been pouncing at the windows. So we brought the snow into him for awhile.
A short video of my sweet Hope. Since the first day I picked her up, she has charged at my hand and will stop waiting for her pets. At the beginning I would pull back thinking she was going to bite, but I quickly learned it was just her way. She can be across the room and I can scratch the floor and call her name and she’ll come running just to stop at my hand and wait for her pets. I have been teaching this to Sophia lately too.
Mn 10-9-2018 ... Little Sophia always makes me smile when she plays with blankets.
She gets around well with her dislocated elbow. In a few weeks she’ll be having another X-ray to see how things compare to last fall.
