📌 What the handler reinforces (good/bad)
📌 How to lure
📌 Basic behaviours (sit, down, foot targets)
📌 Introduction to recall
📌 Playing techniques
📌 Developing a communication system with your dog
📌 Charging and using a marker word system
📌 How reward placement matters & understanding the rate of reward

What’s your favourite thing to do with your dogs when you’re needing to quiet your mind?

One thing we love is taking our dogs out for a hike in nature. It quiets our minds and our dogs love some free time to be dogs sniffing and exploring.

Looking to work with dogs? The Opportunity is here!

Duties Include but not Limited to:
- Conduct individual and group training sessions for dogs of all ages and breeds
- Assess dog behavior and develop customized training plans to address specific needs
- Teach basic obedience commands such as sit, stay, come, and heel ect
- Assist with behavior modification techniques to address issues
- Educate dog owners on proper handling techniques and effective training methods
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to dog owners to ensure successful training outcomes
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and training sessions

- Manage the structured daycare dog training program (training dogs each day working independently)

-General labour, cleaning and maintenance

-Caring for puppies/raising litters of puppies

- Helping team mates with other duties and being an overall team player

Yesterday was a tragic day, our hearts have been shattered. We morn the loss of a special dog for a special human with a Special story. Cranberry and Caitlin the duo that fixed each other. When I talk about a heart dog many dog people know what I speak of. It’s a dog that touches your heart & soul in a different way. You don’t get many in a life time and you cherish the ones you do. ….And this is what was lost for Caitlin. Her heart dog…. Cranberry came to K & L a bit of a train wreck she required a lot of work and dedication to re build her back up to her full potential. She struggled alot with basic environmentals, anxiety and would shut down more often then not. So we reached out to Caitlin and asked her if she would like a dog to train and call her own. She was hesitant at first and didn’t take her. A few weeks later we received a call from Cait “you know that dog you mentioned, well my life has changed significantly and it turns out I would like to meet her and give her a shot” During this time Caitlin had been struggling with a few personal struggles like us all. She dedicated all her time to cranberry trying new training techniques to see what would work for her and what wouldn’t. They became inseparable if you seen Cait you seen Cran, they were a package deal. The progress was slow but steadily improving each and everyday. With improvements there was definitely back tracks, but Caitlin never gave up on the dog, not once. She would take steps back re evaluate her training techniques, and start over. Caitlin wanted nothing more than to help this do and hope to put a few titles on her with all the training she had put into her. She had exceptional OB and knew over 25 + tricks. Cranberry built such a love for Caitlin that even when trialling was not her favourite thing to do, she would do it because her human poured her heart into her and gave her the confidence and skills to power through. K & L Aussies strive in finding the perfect fit for all our puppy's. We take pride in raising happy healthy pups that will be suitable for farm work, as well as companionship, agility, herding, therapy ect . Our aussies roam freely around the farm engaging in all sorts of activities throughout the day. Some even come to work regularly with us to work cattle.

K & L Aussies dog family is very laid back easy going friendly working companion dogs. The best of both worlds. Our studs have amazing sweet temperaments with handsome looks to follow suit. Our females are happy go lucky ladies that enjoy lounging around or going out for a casual stroll.

Each one of our dogs has a unique personality that we love, they can be very entertaining to watch. All our Aussies are super eager to please and get the job done. We have high expectations from our dogs and they never let us down.

We also offer puppy and dog training. We have different programs and we are able to accommodate different needs of different dogs and people.
