Freddie says Happy New year to you all. 2023 turned out to be a tough year. I lost my Mum and then came the absolutely heartbreaking time with Dearbhla's bunnies. We then lost the lovely Fanta, and then I got the call to say Flopsy had crossed the rainbow bridge too. I don't want another year like it. All the pets that stay here become family, I love them all. Losing any of them is so painful. Many tears are shed when we lose a pet.
Here's to a Happy 2024. Freddie certainly enjoyed his New Year's Eve. 🎉❤️🍾

With New Year’s Eve nearly upon us, it’s time to start thinking about the big issues!

No, not New Year resolutions – fireworks! 🎆

As every rabbit owner will know, fireworks are very distressing to rabbits and, regardless as to whether you have indoor or outdoor rabbits, please make sure you - and your buns - are well prepared for the busy night ahead.

Well this is a first. This is Freddie the Starling. He's amazing. He's settled in well. He's been swinging away on his swing. He's a little quiet at the moment but he's eating OK. He had a little coriander for supper. He's been listening to music, watched the news and is very well behaved ❤️

This is Teddy and Bear. They came in today.They are quite wary of me and have been hiding in their igloos. Hopefully tomorrow they'll come round. I'll give them some freeroam in the room, they'll love that. They've had forage with their hay today and loads of greens. They must wonder where they are but tomorrow they should be more settled. They're such cuties ❤️

Hi everyone. I hope you had a good Christmas and are enjoying the festive holidays.
The conures went home today, so it's very quiet here. Pippa came in earlier. She's been many times and has settled right in. She's just had supper, herbs and romaine lettuce.
Tomorrow I have a starling coming in, that's exciting, and different. And 2 new guinea pigs join me too.

Echo and Delta had plenty of attention Christmas eve and took a liking to my son in law. My Grandson would now like conures.
The family are here today for our Xmas day so Echo and Delta will get loads of attention.

New Year of course won't be so great for those unwanted Christmas gifts. It won't be easy for our wonderful rescues either. Rescues get very few donations, they are self funded and struggle with their sometimes large intakes. But where would these poor dumped and unwanted pets be without our wonder rescues.
I try to support animal rescues as much as I can.

It's nearly that time of year again. It's been a tough one, especially from October on. At the same time I lost my Mum, Tricker, a bunny I was looking after became very ill. Sadly he was pts. After that the 3 bunnies he was with gave up and they were sadly pts. Then Fanta hopped over the rainbow bridge, and then Daisy-Rae my Daughters bunny. And then this week, a bunny who has been with me many times, Flopsy, hopped over the rainbow bridge. Every pet that I board here become my babies and I love them all, so losing any of them breaks my heart. I never forget them. Forever in my heart and thoughts

Christmas is upon us! It always comes round so fast. I hope you're all ready for it. It's quiet here but I have some conures coming in next week ❤️ and then a Starling, that will be interesting. And Pippa is also back in after Christmas, always lovely to see her.

And as one of the UK’s most popular (and most misunderstood) pets, rabbits have the right to the 5 fundamental welfare requirements that every rabbit owner should provide:

🏡 Housing – Rabbits always need AT LEAST 3m x 2m x 1m high.

🥕 Diet – Your rabbits’ diet should consist of 85% fresh hay, 10% greens, and 5% pellets.

🧸 Behaviour / Enrichment – Provide your buns with plenty of toys and activities to keep them from getting bored or stressed.

🐰 Companionship – Every bunny needs some bunny to love ❤ Rabbits should always be kept in neutered pairs.

💉 Health – A healthy rabbit is a happy rabbit. Make sure your rabbits are up to date on all their vaccinations and take them for regular health checks with a rabbit savvy vet.

Even the pet boarding rooms are starding to look a little festive 🎅🙂 and lovely new lino in some of the pens.
Work is still progressing in the garden, even in the freezing cold! And sometimes in the rain. I have a new shed ready to go up, that's just to house my supplies, pens, straw, hay and outdoor tunnels and hidey houses. The ground for the new shed is about ready and the base for the shed is built. I have the door and two front panels of the shed ready and waiting to go up. It's getting there slowly, but we're getting there. I can't wait until its all done and I can get on with the painting and getting interiors all kitted out.

Hello all. Seen as it's nearly Chritmas I did a little photo shoot with my own bunnies. It's not great as they never sit still lol I didn't want to stress them so it's just a little fun that was done quickly. Of course they all got a treat afterwards.

Hi everyone. Some of you may remember a trio of bunnies, Dylan, Peter and Flopsy, who stayed with me earlier on this year. 3 cute lops. Well they are looking for a new home. Their owner is having to rehome them. The family are very upset about having to rehome them. The bunnies are lovely, well behaved, neutered, vaccinated and litter trained. They do live outdoors, but can be house rabbits. They need a home with someone who has knowledge of bunnies.
I may be fostering the bunnies so anyone interested can come and meet them.
Please message me if you're interested in giving these 3 a loving home.

***UPDATE ON THE 3 BUNNIES.
After the owner having a long chat with her children, and them being very distraught all weekend, she is going to keep the bunnies and see how it goes. She's feeling a lot better now. I'm pleased she is keeping them, but I have room here for them, and I'll step in if need be. It's not easy letting pets go so, hopefully she'll be fine.

I have received some upsetting news this morning. Sadly Fanta has crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈 Fanta and Bowie have stayed with me quite a few times. I'm heartbroken and my thoughts are very much with her owners 💔 Fanta was over 13 years old, she was a sweet bunny, and did so well for her age. Her owners adopted her and Bowie from Asisi rescue here in Northern Ireland.
Bowie is going to need a friend. He loved Fanta. His owners are now looking for a female bunny for Bowie.
If anyone has or knows of anyone that is looking to rehome a female rabbit, could you please message me. Asisi don't have any females available right now.

It's been a tough year, a sad year. I get very attached to the animals that stay with me, and losing them is heartbreaking.
