Blaze was a tiny bottle baby found on a cold walkway with his siblings. He is a stunning Russian Blue mix with jade green eyes. He's extremely affectionate as most model babies are. He's fully vetted and microchipped just patiently waiting for his purrrrfect home. It would be nice if he was adopted with his equally gorgeous brother Cash. But I think that they would do okay separated as long as they had a companion Kitty in their new home that they could hang out with. They do very well with small well-mannered dogs and every single Kitty in our care right now.

Frank Sinatra was a fervent anti-racist and an early activist during the civil rights movement.⁣

He refused to stay at hotels and play at clubs that did not admit black people. His band would also provide equal pay and treatment for black musicians. It was through his relentless and tireless efforts that Las Vegas quickly became integrated.⁣
⁣
In an interview in 2016, Frank Sinatra, Jr. had this to say about his father:⁣
⁣
"In the days when Las Vegas began to become popular, the black performers could play in showrooms, but they couldn't stay in the hotel. And it was Frank Sinatra who went to the board of directors, who had rather shady pasts, and he said, 'Are you guys going to come into the twentieth century, or aren't you?'...Somebody said 'Well, we have white people, we have black people." Sinatra, the story goes, said to them, 'The money is green. How about that?' And they began to look at each other and the wheels were turning, and because of Sammy (Davis), Las Vegas became integrated."⁣
⁣
Sinatra was also big-time supporter of Martin Luther King and helped him raise money to support the Civil Rights Movement by headlining fundraisers. In 1958, he wrote in Ebony Magazine:⁣ “A friend to me has no race, no class and belongs to no minority. My friendships are formed out of affection, mutual respect and a feeling of having something in common. These are eternal values that cannot be classified.”⁣

Again....not the kitty I wanted, yet again. This one is a baby. And I know that there are great for the environment but this one got in and killed two of my baby chicks so I'm not thrilled. I let it loose under the fence to go elsewhere. I hope it does

These 3 pups were found in bushes on Lake Blvd the other day when it was 107 outside. A good Samaritan caught these 3, there are 3 more pups and a mama out there :(. I was told that the mom looked like she was in pretty rough shape. I asked if ANIMAL CONTROL was called, "yes" but they won't get involved because they were found near a homeless encampment?????????? AND if someone picks them up they are then responsible.

Just incredible.

If there is anyone out there who can go on a quest for the remaining babies and can care for them, I will do all I can to help you post for help

Lila and I were sitting on the back steps visiting with the pups. And I was able to get Bella to dance and smile. She has come so far from when she arrived. She was skin and bones, she and the others were eating each other's feces like they weren't fed regularly, and she was scared of everyone. While my grandchildren were visiting she allowed both of them to pick her up and love on her which is huge. She was missing fur from about the middle of her back to her butt which we've been treating her for and it's finally coming in nicely. She has become a total Little Love Bug, she's beginning to trust humans again and will be the perfect companion for some lucky person. Bella is about 4 years old she is fully vetted she will be microchipped before she's adopted, we are just waiting for the right match for this special girl. THANK YOU to all of you generous people that donated yesterday during the #NorthStateGivingTuesday event. We were able to raise over $1,600. What a blessing! With 35 mouths to feed and so many kitties that are getting spayed/neutered this month plus shots, it couldn't come at a better time! We will receive that check at the end of December. We truly appreciate the birthday fundraisers and post fundraisers but are shutting that FB option down after the current ones run their course because it takes around 3 months for the funds to come from Facebook. We are asking everyone to donate via the Venmo app - @Karen-Hansen-136, or by sending a check so that we can have the funds accessible when we need them. The waiting period is just too long through Facebook payments. We hope you can understand the predicament we're in. We are also looking at other options like Text-to-Give. Thank you all again for your generous hearts! Your giving allows us to help these helpless kitties!
